This post office has been hit or miss over the years. Even though it's my local branch, I don't come here very often because, in my experience, customer service has been inconsistent. I've encountered long lines, received incorrect information, and had long waits when a manager was needed. Those experiences have led me to use other locations whenever possible. Today, however, was a pleasant surprise. I only came because it fit into the route I was already running for errands, and I'm glad I did. There was just one person ahead of me, so I was in and out quickly. The young woman who helped me was friendly, professional, and very helpful, making the entire visit easy and stress-free. Yes, a lot of places are not using cash anymore because of issues. I came in to make sure an envelope was tracked, paid for it at the best price available and I was out the door in only five minutes. Today, I went to this local post office to request help with a package I mailed Priority Mail International Express 2 weeks ago -- using the USPS online "Click-N-Ship" web portal. Paid $44 and change. Printed out label and customs form. Pkg was picked up. I've done this many, many time.s Everything went as usual with package mailing steps and payment steps. However, USPS can't find the delivery address in Seychelles, and now this pkg is lost in translation and delivery. Imagine how surprised and frustrated I was to discover that there is NO ACCESS to my shipping history online for this Priority Mail International shipment! However, I received a phone text alerting me to an delivery address issue. However, the link to 'correct' the address info did have accommodation for an international address. The directions provided on the USPS lead to a dead end, so I -- or anyone else -- can retrace postal service/shipping active initiated on the national USPS web portal. So, having no access to the label/details/tracking number or way to find it in the USPS online portal, I went to my local post office for HUMAN ASSISTANCE. 1. The postal clerk in the window went 'robot' -- spouting the memorized lines "without a tracking number I can't help you. So, I asked him to get a supervisor. When I walked into the post office there was another clerk at a second window who walked off to where I do not know. But I saw this male human being with my two eyes, so when the ROBOT CLERK said 'there is no one else here' and I confronted him on his lie, and I refused to get out of line while repeatedly explaining the problem and asking for someone else to speak to -- he finally relented because there were now half a dozen people waiting. This clerk returned, telling me to go to the 'blue door' and wait -- gesturing to the lobby. In the lobby there was only a gray door. So, I walked around to the back of the facility where there were two doors, but no one standing outside waiting to 'provide customer service.' So, I POUNDED on both blue doors so the know could be heard and waited. No one came out, although some KNEW that I was out there. I went back into the service lobby and got back in line, where I saw several other people walking through the back office area. When it was my turn to attempt to communicate with ROBOT CLERK, I said, "Would you please go get the woman with the long braids. I can see that there are, in fact, other people here who I could speak with besides the man you claim was a 'custodian.' Having caught him in his first lie, and now anxious that I would hold up his line again, he left the window and came back with a woman. A supervisor ROBOT who suggested that I had been 'scammed' on the official USPS website portal. And "Sorry, I can't help you or provide any other information about this package without a tracking number." I gave her the pkg number that I had been provided with in the text message -- supposedly from USPS -- and she said she would go look it up -- I knew where that would lead, so I suggested that she take me into the back and sit down at a computer so that she and all the clerks might better know HOW TO SERVE USPS customers. No. Can I have another number to call, please? Obviously, this window clerk lied to me. "No he didn't lie." "yes, he did lie. He said there was no one else here for me to speak to, and here you are. So, he lied." Then she said, "Was that you pounding on the back door?" "Yes, I wanted to make sure someone heard me, as there was a delay in my finding the 'blue' door." Well, that was disturbing and disruptive," she replied. I waved my paper with the correct address for the Post Office in Seychelles, and replied "You don't think what I'm going through now is disturbing and disruptive." She asked me to 'calm down.' I suggested she try to feel some empathy. Then she said, you need to leave. I said no, I'll just get back in line until I get the service that I paid for. Then she said, "Well, we'll call someone (who? TRUMP) and have you removed." At this point, I left, returned home and once again searched the entire USPS site for A LIVE LINK in my account that redirected to SHIPPING HISTORY. Nothing. So, I'm letting all of you know in my community what Trump and PostMaster General DeJoy have implemented to be absolute time thiefs who are incapable of running major public resources. Next, I'm calling ACTION NEWS to invite them to meet me at the Market Square Crittenden Street 19119 Post Office Branch to 'HIGHLIGHT' a huge disconnect between local and online resources and to HIGHLIGHT the issue of an unacceptable lack of public service -- when the service has been paid for. Easily the worst post office I've ever been to. They open late and close early with a highly inaccurate clock up on the wall to use as backup on the front end. Had some $100+ steak knives being delivered to my apartment (which is 90ft from this post office), UPS signed the knives over to them, they never showed up. I went over inquiring about it and they were clueless. Someone there is cutting their steak in style now. Line is out the door at most hours, but don't worry, they'll make sure they only have one person working the register. Awful. Hate having to go here. read more

Get here 30mins before they close since they shut it down before closing times listed on the door & website. Also make sure you get a receipt when dropping off packages. Do not drop in mail box out front. Things have a habit of never leaving the post office for shipment & disappearing. read more

Not only that I have issues with getting my packages whenever I order something... I hope I will actually get it and sometimes the usps will leave my mail on the steps of my apartment complex won't even put my mail in my mailbox... I have had to call and report this... My typical experience here involves slow, surly, incompetent employees. It often involves leaving in a bad mood. I went there for about the tenth time today, but it will be the last time. Although I was the first person in line, I waited 25 minutes for the checker finish with the customer ahead of me, trying over and over again to use the cash register to endorse a check. This location is to be avoided if you need to go inside and you have another option. It's dirty, and it can be notoriously slow if there is a line. I have also had problems when mailing pre printed envelopes out of this location because the machines cannot read them. Not that it matters all that much, but they landscape about 3 times a summer too, so it usually looks pretty bad on the outside as well. Some of the folks that work there are very nice and friendly. Not sure if any P.O. in the City of Philadelphia is any better, but it's no surprise this particular place has only a one star average. We ordered a Halloween costume that was sent to us USPS on October 10, 2017 (3 Day Priority Mail). Today is May 24, 2018 and the package literally just arrived. Back in October, the automated delivery confirmation said it arrived on our doorstep (LIES). Speaking to the Supervisor at the office about this back then was no help after trying for days to speak with one. I doubt they made any attempt to track it down after that point. Easily the nastiest bunch of postal workers I have ever seen. Grumpy, mad, impolite, impatient, not professional at all. No smiles, no customer service skills, act as if you are bothering them by coming in the establishment. Where do they get this attitude from? The woman who is in charge of passports is astoundingly incompetent and has a bad attitude on top of it. She first told me I needed my wife present to renew our son's passport. I made a second appointment and my wife came with us. She then informs me that my wife didn't need to be there but that we need to present a birth certificate. I had to go back home to get that. When I came back a third time with the birth certificate she gave me an attitude. Her attitude and service are both miserable. read more

I gave up even going inside the Crittenden location years ago since the service was so horrible. Sadly, in the past year, I have mailed 3 checks from the mailbox outside the door to this post office that have not made their way to their destinations. Wow! What an awful person who works here. GAIL. Really! I knew she was going to be a problem when I first approached her. I needed some plastic pouches for International Express Mail packages hat I had (which I paid more than $100 for the 3 packages postage - I think I deserve a little courtesy and customer service for that alone). I was right, I went to mail some packages that were going international registered air mail and she pulled some stink about the way they were labeled. I said that I had been doing this for years and she replied angrily that se had been doing it for years. Needless to say, she was an idiot and I didn't trust her with my important mailings... Thankfully I found another post office who was the polar opposite when it comes to customer service and got my packages off safely. GAIL IS NOT A NICE PERSON. Try to avoid this post office in 7782 Critteden st in Philadelphia, PA., 19118 because there are some problems with theft going on. I use another post office and refuse to use this one because I have lost all trust with this one. Just can not deal with what I believe is pure corruption. Use cash and get your receipt because when you use your credit card/bank card, etc., they have to look @ your info on the back of your card that reveals everything such as security security code and expiration date. They then begin typing something and for all I know is it could be all of my info! Right after I used my card there last year, someone purchased 10 starbucks gift cards on my bank card last year and ordered $900.00 worth of items from Bloomingdales online. Because I check my account daily, I was able to intercept it and the order never went through. Although the bank could not give me info about the case they told me that it was someone who had all of the info off of my card used on line. My card was not lost or stolen. No other business requests to look @ the front and back of my card. This is why you should use cash if you can. Also, insure everything that you send back or it can be stolen if they want it! This happened to me twice just last year when I sent back 13 prs. of girls shorts in one box, (from that office) the company stated that when they received the package there were only received 3 pairs in the partially opened box! This Christmas season alone, I received one box partially opened w/ tape partially removed, another ripped apart and a small box that contained 2 pairs of vintage gloves were removed out of this box and sent to me empty just closed but w/ tape removed. I was expecting a box from Ups and I just learned today 12/30/2017 that it was transferred to the local post office on 12/29/2017 and I am waiting to see if I get my package. Just like they are keeping their eyes on my packages, I am keeping a log as well. I do not send anything w/o not being able to track it! The San Fransisco, CA address attached on the outside of this message is incorrect. I cannot remove it. I am from Philly and the correct address is written above. Only gave one because I had to. THEY ALWAYS HAVE A ATTITUDE AND GET MAD WHEN YOU BRING IN ALOT OF PACKAGES AND ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS SIMPLY SCAN. Not even type in every address. The black guy with grey hair is RUDE always when we come but always smile and nice to the white people. The lady with dreads jus complain no matter how much you've tried to make it easier because it's not how they want it. I went there 5/20/17 and received terrible customer service. I know you can't control misinformation on the government website but you didn't have the numbers to nearby post offices handy to offer me, let alone try to call them to see if they could do what I needed. We just moved in to our new apartment so we have a lot of things being delivered. For some reason our mailman refuses to check if we're home so all of our packages have been going to this post office. Being that we just moved in, we don't have our new address on any of our forms of ID so we haven't been allowed to pick up our packages. read more
