This is the worst post office I ever dealt with I wish I can give this post office a zero. I went to the window and ask to speak to the manager and the clerk came back and said I told him he said he was coming , after standing there for 20 minutes he never came up front and I asked the clerk to go remind him, the came back and said I told him, after waiting 45 minutes for this rude manager he still never came up front to address my issue. I started using this post office for about 4 months and my packages go missing my mail doesn't get delivered and if it does the carrier puts it on top of the mailbox. Now I receive mail every 3-4 days maybe , They leave the mail in house because my route doesn't have a regular mail carrier. So when my mail comes it's a lot of mail. At this time I'm waiting for important mail and this place is so bad informed delivery isn't available because it's so dysfunctional. I have called about 6 times to put in complaint about all of these issues. So one when I walked in the post master was in the lobby assisting people and she called me over to help me , she said she would call this post office and find when, what, why and gave me the number to her secretary. Well I called her number and there is no answer machine and she doesn't answer the phone. The people running this post office is doing a horrible job here and their customer service is terrible. Last week I sent a small parcel Express under 1 pound with measurements of 8x5x4 inches. I was charged 27.00 Dollars by the man that worked there. They do not care about their customers mail. I have contacted them about their employee throwing our mail on the floor claiming it was because of my dog. We coordinated our times for us not to leave the dog out and the lady purposely came 2 hrs early just to take a pic of my dog outside. All this was caught on my surveillance camera. Yet they told us that if we wanted out mail we had to add another mail box outside. We did and our mail was wet every time it rained. I'm surprised by the low rating on Yelp. Maybe things have since changed from when the last reviews were posted. Or perhaps my 3-star rating is due to it being based on going during the work week and during my lunch break. This 3-star is also limited to my experiences with the clerk tellers - mailing letters, sending out packages, and buying stamps. The clerk tellers who have helped me are usually always quick and friendly. I haven't used the rental post boxes here, but they are available for rent. For the most part, I haven't dealt with too long of a wait on the line. I know that they improved the line-up area with better signage and a person working there who directs customers on where to go. Also, FYI, this location does not offer passport services (there's a list posted with where you can get this done). read more

I have lived at my residence for 45 yrs and had no problems but the last few months my mail is being either shoved in my fence or thrown on my porch . My steps has no debri or anything wrong with it nothing has changed but all of a sudden they won't put my mail in my mailbox. They never left a letter saying anything was wrong. Packages are scanned in early morning and tracking states it is out for delivery but package arrives the next day.

At this point, the government can just go ahead and defund the United States Postal Services because we are TIRED. They cannot even be bothered to place mail in the mail boxes, mail is always left out on the ledge. They leave packages unattended instead of leaving a pickup slip so packages are always missing and/or stolen. They lie about the delivery window. Just pack it up and close up shop. I refuse to shop with any company that ships USPS. If it's not FedEx, DHL or UPS, I will not do business. read more

Hit or miss but for the most part, I can't really complain. There's usually enough workers and the line tends to move quickly now then it's in the past. For every hundred packages that I would receive there might be a problem with about 20 where they're late or they get rerouted back. One time I was pretty sure due to the nature of this very much wanted Halloween costume years ago I believe one of the workers did take it. There is bad and good with every business but the more popular and used a business is and the more people that frequent it there will be error for mistakes. For the most part I'm walking as we speak with my packages and so far so good this week. I feel like service has gotten better overall. I have had this PO box for over 20 years in my entire family uses it and we prefer this over our home address where things have gotten stolen. I recently moved to a fairly affluent area and packages were even getting stolen there so having a PO box made me feel secure. I highly recommend getting a PO box and the prices are good as well. I think I pay about 60 or $70 every 3 months. read more

I've lived in Paterson on Wars Street for almost 30 years and the Main post office here on Ward Street used to be the best! Customer service was outstanding and you had a postmaster general that cared. Now this place is not worth even renting a mail box from, because they loose your mail and make excuses! The phone number to call is NOT IN SERVICE! When you leave a message for the postmaster NO ONE gets back in contact with you. Also my mail carriers in this area are horrible, we live in a condo complex and they leave the mail out on the front stoop for anyone walking by on this main street (which is very busy) to be able to just walk up and walk away with! They don't even ring your doorbell, I know because I was waiting all day for a medication package delivery for my blood pressure medication and Still have not received it though the tracking number shows they left it on the front steps of my building, again where anyone could just pick it up and walk away with it..(which obviously they did)! Do yourself a favor and use UPS because the United States Postal Service branch of Ward Street should be dismantled and closed for good! read more

Always makes excuses not to deliver like"receptimcle blocked" or that they attempted delivery and left notice. No notice is left and the mailbox couldn't have been clearer unless they consider steps to the mailbox a blockage. Lazy carriers! read more

I sent pkg and the receiving person never got the pkg they talked with ups trying to get info where the pkg was sent using tracking# they stated they can't tell them because there not the sender. So I called I'm the sender they tell me the same thing, that they can't tell me where my pkg was sent I had the proper address to the where it was to be sent but the PO will not tell me even though I have the receipt as proof I'm the sender. EVERY SINGLE TIME that we have had an express package mailed or any package the carriers NEVER attempt to ring our doorbell for delivery. They just automatically leave a slip or sometimes not even leave a slip. Now this has happened when I lived there and have since relocated and now I mail something to my daughter who is still there in school and the same thing. I thought maybe it would be different since its a different mail area and carrier however the same result. Try to contact the office and they NEVER answer the phone. What is the purpose of having a phone number for customers to call and they don't answer? The lines are always around the corner.... They either only have one or 2 clerks for a Post office that covers the WHOLE TOWN Not to mention the numerous complaints about my forwarded mail that I requested to be forwarded over 4 months ago and NEVER got. SMH..The USPS needs to revamp the staff altogether or close it like they did the one on River Street. read more
