I've been a PO Box customer & a Regular Customer on 11th & Pacific for 20+ Years, and 1. Every single time I either don't have my PO Box key with me Lita Gratefully gets my mail for me when needed. 2. If a package that arrived at the facility more than a day ago (close to 2 days) due to the FedEx/UPS Tracking #s, Lita Gratefully goes back to search for it & finds it if it wasn't in my PO Box. 3. ***Lita is always a Happy Camper at her job & Lita is a Definite Keeper! P.S. Lita deserves a 5+++++ Rating Score! P.S. Other Front Clerks, 1 in particular, complain that those 2 scenarios above isn't their job to do & kick me/you, the customer(s) to the curve.

I head here every so often to mail a package or occasionally pick one up. Staff is always friendly. Sometimes they're downright silly, which I enjoy. I've never seen this post office super packed like a lot of the others I visit. Bonus that it's a fallout shelter in case dystopia really is around the corner. Honestly, it's a relic from the Cold War era, which is pretty cool. I think a US president also visited here way back when. I forget which one. I'll do a little research and report back later.

We submitted a new resident card, left a note for our postal worker (all of which was accepted and a return note left) We started getting SOME of our mail, but still many packages were being held at the post office (without a note left in our box, we were simply getting tracking notifications). We submitted redelivery requests which were being ignored so had to call the post office. Called immediately at opening time, and was put on hold for 15 minutes without even being asked my tracking number. They acted as if it was my fault the package was delayed at the post office....and are refusing to deliver the package unless I pick it up at the post office.

I called the company that sent it and was directed to a post office on 136th St. They were friendly enough there, but basically said "oh no, we don't do anything with delivered mail at this post office." They sent me to the Stoney Brook annex. There's a solid wood door so you can see nothing, and a door bell which I rang over and over for many minutes. No answer. I could hear people on the other side, one even said "ding dong!" Eventually I went back to the first post office and told them what happened. They said "those were the carriers you heard. The clerks can't hear the door bell." They tried to call Stoney Brook, line was busy, and then someone told me "I'll call Dave. Go back." So I went back to Stoney Brook, rang the bell for several more minutes. Eventually someone came to the door, Dave, I assume. From there I got my package like normal. The setup is simply not conducive to a public-facing operation, yet when they have packages and mail that needs to be picked up by the public, I don't know why not. Without the call to Dave on the secret number, I'd probably still be there.

This was not the case with the workers I encountered. After ringing the bell I was greeted by a smiling face. The woman was quite friendly and even forgiving when I made a mistake with my address. I left feeling like a valued customer and not just an annoyance.
