First off, no lines. And if you manage to find the south entrance off of Harney Street, you don't even have to go through security. Wow. Second off, the local government staff was helpful. I mean it still took about 45 minutes longer than was really necessary -- which is to be expected -- but I actually walked out of there feeling like I had accomplished something. And it only cost me $1 more than I was anticipating. I hopefully will never have to come back here, but for what it's worth, a 3-Star experience at county courthouse is about as good as it gets.

I ended up missing a court date due to being in ICU. I promptly called the courts when I was discharged from the hospital and was issued a warrant of failed to appear. I was told by court clerk because its late on Friday to keep my medical papers with me all week end and be at court first thing Monday. That Sunday night I was pulled over even tho I told the cop of my illness and showed the papers from hospital stay I was still arrested humiliated in my year for all to see and took to jail where once again I showed them I was unable to leave the hospital because I was in ICU because I was very sick from sepsis and could not leave or I would get sicker or possibly die. They read and shrugged it off like I intentionally missed court. That morning I went to court I showed the judge and the prosecutor my papers of my illness and that I was in septic shock and in ICU. They read and haha didn't care I was still charged the failed to appear fines. I did turn in a motion and haha it was denied WTF!!! I was IN ICU I WENTNINTO SEPTIC SHOCK I HAD LINES RUNNING IN AND OUT OF ME I DUD NOT MISS COURT BECAUSE I WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE I MISSED COURT BECAUSE I HAD A VERY DEADLY SICKNESS!! Had to come here for a disability hearing for my late mother in law…read more The court room is hard to find, I wish they had signs, so glad we were early and there was an employee to point us in the right direction, it's literally in a hallway. My major complaint is when the hearing was over, we were not told the time frame we would hear anything or where to submit the travel expenses we incurred. so that lead to a call back. And our hearing was over an hour late, but that is none of their fault. Parking is a bit of a headache unless you know that there is a garage across the street. Overall it's what is expected from a government building. Security was super tight which was a bit of peace of mind, but overall things could be done better.

Typically everyone dreads going to the DMV. However, my most recent experience went quite well. I…read morewent for a vehicle renewal on the last day (not recommended) so I anticipated a line. While there was a line wrapped around outside of the building, things kept moving efficiently. They had an employee monitoring the front and directing individuals throughout the line. As well as they had another employee directing people to the help windows. Upon arrival, I didn't have a scheduled appointment. However, I noticed that some individuals did. They then were required to wait in half of the line anyway, which defeated the purpose of having an appointment method in place.

This is when I stepped in and said you can not deny him this right, I suggest you give him the proper paperwork to fill out. You ladies do not make the final call and outcome.. The referee does. The guy who had never been through this before was just about to listen to them that if he opposed the raise and lost then they would raise his property taxes even higher than stated. Once again, I said that's a lie and why are y'all lying to everyone? Well one of the guys working had security on the radio so they could listen to what was going on. Then all of a sudden the main lady who worked there tried to jump over the counter at me but then decided to use the side door, followed by 3 other workers... one female, and two males. The main lady came running at me with her hand in a fist. This was 4 people against little. I was trying to get away when one lady yelled at me to GTFO... upon entering the first floor where the guards were, I said to them, wow what is up with those bags up on the next floor, they kicking me out. All the guards said, yes they are bitches, we get soo many complaints about them all the time... and they always ring for help for a storm they start. The lady had heard this n said he buzzed down for assistance. The 4 of the guards said, we watched everyone who went up and we listened to the whole thing over the radio. Both sides have a ticket system and you just wait for your number to be called. Im usually in and out in 15 mins tops. All employees that have helped me have been courteous and friendly. Building is kept clean and there is a bathroom available which is also kept clean.

I'm really amazed at just how easy it is to get in and out of the Cass County Courthouse. Most of…read morethe urban court buildings I've been to, you have to pass through a metal detector and have your stuff x-rayed, and God help you if you have a pocket knife. But not here. There are no metal detectors anywhere. You just walk in, conduct your business and walk out, easy as pie. This building contains the county courts as well as most of the other county functions, such as treasurer, clerk, register of deeds, surveyor and commissioners. It also houses the county probation offices and the local DMV.

As Troy said, it's one of the few courthouses that you can just walk right in and get your business…read moretaken care of. Only gripe I have is that the DMV is still like every other DMV. Prepare to wait. And wait some more.

It is a small marker that has a prime location at the front of the Cass County Courthouse and…read moreadministrative building in downtown Plattsmouth Nebraska. It has the crests of the military branches nearby. The marker is made with a brick background and has the plaque mounted on it. The marker simply reads, " For those who made the supreme sacrifice And has a list of individuals that have given their life during WWI, WWII, Korea & Vietnam." And it provides a too long list of names. Just behind it, mounted on the wall of the courthouse is another marker, "In honor of the men of Cass County, Nebraska who served in the Great War and in memory of those who gave their lives."
