I had an incident which left my car undrivable and I was forced to relinquish my ability to do so at the time. I had to sign some paperwork and my vehicle was removed from site and relocated to Omaha Police Impound. I was told I could retrieve it the next day. I showed up first thing in the morning in my working vehicle and had to produce many forms of ownership. Title, license, and proof of insurance. Then I had to give them my Visa. no other card would work and they don't take checks. Much like Costco in that matter. I called my roadside assistance and they were able to bring my car from Impound to my driveway, free of charge. +1 for Progressive! Upon reading the papers I had, it states that you can have the Impound bring the vehicle to your home or designated location for $~125, or they will bring it to the lot for $99. Plus $39 a day storage, Plus $44 for documentation. As you might infer, It costs much less to bring your vehicle home. Please avoid this location unless you are going to the auction. You can get a great deal on a slightly broken motorbike!

When it's a busy day or in the afternoon, yes it can get to be a pretty long wait. This year (2024), it took about two hours, including waiting in the line - which was the majority of the wait time. The actual voting was laid out well by the staff and took only about 10 minutes. Speaking of the staff, they were very pleasant and funny when we chatted with them. You can also pick up your ballot here and do the mail in option, or bring it back and put it in at the drop box outside this office. One thing to note, if you're voting here or anywhere else - there is a new statute banning electioneering (wearing political shirts, buttons, or talking about any of the ballot issues) while at any voting location. If you're going to vote early, this office is nice but probably a little busier than your normal polling place on Election Day since there are so many of those laid out across the city.

The worst experience of my life has been renting a house from the owner of Developmental Services…read moreof Nebraska, Mr Scott J. LeFevere! Mr.Lefevre's contracted maintenance crew left razor blades on my driveway and they spit their chewing tobacco spit all over my patio one day while they caulk over perfectly good caulk and failed to fill the cracks in the window jams once. Last fall we had to wait over 2 months to get a working spotlight on our back patio and stairs to the ground level.This was a serious safety concern and made it very difficult with a little doggy that needs to be let out too! There are rotted holes in the house siding that let the mice in. We normally catch 2-3 per month and thats over 50 mice since my family moved in! Mr. Lefevre raised our rent by $125 per month with the understanding that he would fix a very leaky/drafty bay window in our master bedroom & now a year later nothing at all has been done or said about it! Frustration led me to call the city's rental-license inspectors. I found out that our house was overdue for it's inspection by over 3 months and the city had been attemping to contact Mr. LeFevre , but he would not respond to them. So I let the city in to do the inspection and Mr. Scott J. Lefevre was cited with 12 violations! So, The US Government... I suppose, to be fair it is a well-intentioned bureaucracy. I don't believe that they ever set out to be "evil" no matter who is in charge of it. The problem is that you really can't please all of the people all of the time. Everytime something happens that we don't personally agree with we whine about how special interests are controling the government, while somehow overlooking that all special interest groups are essentially groups of like-minded citizens. Maybe democracy is the problem...Any time you get 51% of the people behind something it tends to happen, whether it is stupid or not. Two final points: 1. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. 2. The alternatives are all worse.

This is a well-stocked public library. What you can't find you can either order from another Omaha…read morelibrary or request as a purchase. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They seem quite diligent at their tasks. Helpful, too. One can get book, CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray disks. Checkout is between 1 and 3 weeks, depending on what you check out. Parking is generous, and, so far, I've always found a spot. There is a media and book drop box for returns, both inside and outside the library. I love this place!
