Judy should be fired. Apparently she's the manager of this place. How is this woman allowed to talk to customers the way that she does!?!! I come in granted it's 5pm. The professional thing to would be to ask me to come back the next day because the PO is closed. Instead, this extremely unprofessional woman tells me to "Hurry up!" And asks "What do you need? Are you ready? We're closing you need to hurry up". How could you possibly think this is ok? And her colleague, Eleanor, in the background chuckles. the new management has led the way to make this the worst Post Office I have ever dealt with. they recently changed their rules mandating we put our PO Box number in our address. I have numerous things being returned without my knowledge. I used the same address for 20 years and now I'm lucky if they actually deliver three letters a month. Close the branch and start actual delivery like everyone else. read more

One of the worst post offices ever. Their new post master Rose should be fired. Long lines, pitiful service. Actually had to wait over 20 minutes, two people in front of me while she has small talk with a customer. She returns mail to senders as if she doesn't know the address that is associated with the post office boxes. Isn't it her job to know where the mail is supposed to go? Actually said it takes her 30 minutes to look up an address that is associated with a post office box. If that is the case she shouldn't be working here. The level of service here has deteriorated since she took over. If you can, avoid this post office, mid week, weekends, evenings, doesn't matter, the service is awful read more

USPS has never been known for stellar service but this location takes the cake. As mentioned in other reviews It's clear the workers have become too comfortable and think they run the place and can pick & choose who they want to be helpful with. Do yourself a favor and visit a different location. If it wasn't for the fact this is a historic town so we don't have mailboxes this place would be long gone read more

Pretty horrible service anytime I've ever come here. One older lady with reddish(?) hair specifically, always with a negative attitude. Very confronting and almost makes you feel bad for trying to drop off mail. Would rather mail packages via pigeons than deal with this location again. read more

Unless you are buying postage on-site or wish to stand in line to have your packages scanned, do not drop packages there! They can easily be missed or marked "delivered." I sell on line and made the mistake of dropping off approximately six items to ship. Most customers elect to use First Class Mail which makes tracking items much more difficult if the item is not scanned into the system. I was told this frequently happens as this location is essentially only an incoming post office because there is no mail delivery in Occoquan. This was proved as a Priority Mail shipment was marked as having been delivered to Occoquan even though it was shipped to Georgia. And because it was marked "delivered," it did not exist in the postal system and there was no tracking to Georgia. I only knew it was delivered because my honest customer told me it had been! To make matters worse, I was told by one of the clerks that First Class mail is from time to time sent by ground and that there is no scanning done as these packages wend their way across country and that it can take up to three weeks for such packages to reach their destination! If you like small-town drama here it comes. I live in this quaint historic town and love everything about it except for this post office. I don't know if some of the workers are just poorly trained or if they're so entrenched and comfortable in their job that they think they rule the post office kingdom. It's quite strange and maybe typical of a small town that they could act in such a way as to provide poor customer service and get away with it. Case in point. First, my husband and I didn't pick up the mail for a couple of days and when we got the mail out of our PO box we found an assortment of junk mail, a magazine, and our regular mail shoved in the box to the extent that a few important letters were ripped open while others were bent. Many years ago, when we got this much mail at one time they would take a portion of it and set it aside. This time they just shoved in there with no regard. This has happened twice already. Additionally I went in to pick up a package recently and a lady, I think her name is Judy, questioned me about living in Occoquan and whether I was just using the PO box or what. Apparently my name is not on some list for our PO box. I gave her my name and asked her to check it and she said it wasn't there which is surprising since I've been picking up my mail for two years! I was so irritated my husband ended up coming down (since he's apparently the only one on the list) and telling her I'm his wife and that my name should be there and has been there for some time now. She looked at me and my husband, and then said I wasn't there and that the only other person was...then she proceeded to say my last name! I don't understand why she was giving me a hard time just five minutes ago about not being on some list and she just uttered my name. We told her that was me! Then she gave me some excuse about being confused and how the package she was looking at had somebody else's name (which in fairness it had my son's name). I was livid because all this time I've been informing her who I am and she was still questioning me about some list I didn't know existed. Also, given that my son has a fairly masculine name, I'm not sure why or how she got confused and also why she didn't just ask if my son lived there rather than accusing me of not living in my own town and telling me I'm not on some list! What is this some secret town club that requires a list?! This is seriously ridiculous and uncalled for and I just had to Yelp how inconsiderate this person was. I wouldn't do this PO box/ package pickup service if I didn't have to be forced into getting a PO box. Since mailboxes aren't allowed in this historic town I really have no choice. I have been warned by numerous residents and business owners that the workers in the post office know everything about the people there and gossip with others. I fail to see why they should care and whether it's any of their business who is using our PO boxes. But if it is true that they gossip and they're that bored I say so what, just do the job well and do it right. Try to be nice to the people that live here. read more
