She went above and beyond in assisting me with mailing off my passport application and supporting me through the name change process, which can feel overwhelming. CeCe was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions without rushing me, and made sure I felt confident and supported throughout the entire process. Customer service like hers is rare, and she made what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and reassuring. CeCe is an absolute gem, and the post office is lucky to have her. The poor station alway look sad and neglected. When I went yesterday just before noon, only one person was staffed. The line was about 8 deep. But it moved quickly. Wanted to take a moment to thank you for the lovely lady who was working the counter. She was sweet and patient as she helped everyone. I've been here before mostly to drop off return parcels (so many during the pandemic right!?), but this review is solely based on my passport application experience. I had to go in-person to apply for my passport as a first time applicant so I made an appointment online (easy) and showed up 10 minutes early to my appointment as noted in the confirmation email. I checked in by standing in the regular line and but it appears that there is one designated passport clerk. Carla (as I later learn) was already with someone and I waited a bit, but pretty much in time for my actual appointment, I am called. The first thing she says to me, "I know for a fact that she's got all of her stuff. I know it. 100%." Funnily enough, I was having a pretty shitty day so this is pleasantly surprising. We clearlt start our meeting off to a great start as I pull things out of my folder. There were a couple discrepancies for first time applicants from Dept of State webpage - they take your original copy of your citizenship (they don't care about copies so don't bother) and request another form of primary ID which copy they WILL take - slightly different from what I read on the website. Anyways, I was extra cautious and brought one of everything so my "appointment" ends in just 5 minutes with Carla stating multiple times how grateful she is because I had all my things and it makes her job easier. Goodness! I felt so bad for her but feeling a bit better I was not one more person adding to that. In sum, for a painless first time passport application - make an appt online, take everything you have with originals & copies just in case and it will be a breeze. read more

Most of the people that work here are awful, except the woman with purple hair she is good. There is always a long line the never moves. Mail from my po box allways gets opened. I always get the wrong person's mail. Then today there was a new clerk who was taking a while but she was very nice. Today I left there happy which is rare. Then i got on my bicycle went down the hill and got a flat tire. Which changed my mood and reminded me that I hate that place in general with a few exceptions. Going to the Post Office can be a crap shoot. Sometimes it's an easy or even pleasant experience, and other times, it's reminiscent of trips to the DMV. Some locations lend themselves more towards one end of the experience spectrum or the other. This particular location can be a bit of a nightmare. The parking lot is tiny, the spaces are tight, and it's difficult to maneuver in it. Street parking? Well, that's sparse, as it's mostly dense residential. I don't think I've ever been to this Post Office and not waited at least 10 minutes to reach the counter. Oftentimes, the line is out the door. On my last visit, the line was rather astounding - through the counter area, through the lobby, and spilling out onto the sidewalk and into the parking lot. It took me nearly 30 minutes to reach the counter. I shudder to think what this place would be like during the holidays, when Post Office lines everywhere are longer. As I inched forward (well, 6 feet at a time, but ever soooo slowly) through the lobby with the mailboxes, the supplies station looked like it has been ransacked during the zombie apocalypse. (see photo.) Yeah, I get that we're in a pandemic and that it has felt like the end of the world in so many ways, but I doubt that the lack of supplies has anything to do with COVID-19; my guess is that this just hasn't been restocked lately. Even when I was within sight of the counter, able to count those ahead of me on just one hand, the line still moved at a snail's pace. Why? Only *one* employee was actually working with customers. The other three women behind the plexiglass were just having a conversation. (see photo -- and oddly enough, just as I was snapping the photo, one of those women noticed I was taking pictures, so she's looking right at me, giving a bit of stink eye.) Wow, what a joke. I booked a passport appointment and took the day off from work. They called me 30 minutes before my appointment to let me know that they are canceling my appointment due to being short staffed and employees being on Jury Duty. If that's the case, why not call me in the morning rather than 30 minutes before my appointment? It's truly insane that they are listed as a service provider on the government website with all these terrible reviews. i will be avoiding this place at all costs moving forward. Side note: This post office has the WORST reviews in the East Bay. Why continue to operate when there are countless reviews about the terrible level of service. At the very least, fire and retrain the whole staff so the general public doesn't DREAD having to go there. It's clear the employees do not care about their jobs, they just need a check. read more

Post offices today often get a bad rap, but I had the opportunity to visit this branch twice today and I was impressed with the service the very busy postal workers were providing -- everything from helping me with my complicated international package to the nice lady who waited in line only to discover that she didn't have her wallet, and then found it five minutes later and didn't have to wait again. Jeez Louise, At a time like this it PAINS me to have to write unfavorably against USPS because we NEED them and we NEED to have faith in them. However, I draw the line at STEALING. I sold a nintendo switch on ebay for $400. Put it in a Priority 2 day mail box. Dropped in the mail slot. It SHOULD have been scanned in and shipped. (I run an online business so I ship often, almost daily) I dropped it off on a Tuesday, it never scanned in (most curious!) I came in the following Tuesday to inquire and got the run around. Deciding to climb a little higher up the ladder, I stood on (an incredibly long) line and spoke to a manager who told me that it had indeed been scanned in and was off to a distro center. SO- If they scanned it in, how come the shipping info didn't update? SKETCHY. SO- I said "well, it was 2 day Flat-Rate Priority mail, so why wasn't it y'know, PRIORITIZED as paid for" The response is what broke me: "Well, it's not GUARANTEED 2 DAY, only Express is guaranteed". Mind you, the eye contact avoidance and stuttering was HIGH. I was told to check by Thursday and if it hadn't updated to come back. I have text alerts and on the 10th (8 days after I dropped it off it scanned) I was RELIEVED! It was headed to its destination finally. I got another text alert in a few days that it'd been delivered. The very next alert was from ebay where the buyer was hitting me to let me know she'd received an EMPTY BOX and was demanding a refund and leaving me a bad review. I wish I had the presence of mind to have insured my package (I was in a rush). BEWARE. USPS- please close this useless and thieving location. read more

This post office has the lousiest customer service one can expect. I have been here several times during different seasons bc its very close to my house and each time is the same atrocious experience. Clerks give u attitude for no reason its like they're working at a fast food place. Im sure they get paid a resonable wage, so i dnt think its the pay i think they're just mad they have to be there and work to actually get paid... i'd think this would be a different experience given its location but nope i was wrong. Additionally the shipping box is always out of service so you HAVE to wait in line for over 10 mins every time and deal with their shitty attitudes. I rarely go to this post office, and never for counter service, unless I have no choice since this post office is the post office for my mail service. If it is after hours, definitely don't go there as the lobby is always locked. Sometimes the doors stay open for at least an hour after the post office closes, but that's about it. Even the outside mailboxes are locked from opening. Try not to park in the parking lot as it is small and hard to maneuver into and out of. I've seen too many almost accidents happen. If you do need counter service, you can wait anywhere between 15 to 90 minutes, depending on the number of people ahead of you and how many clerks are working the window. On many occassions the number of clerks has been one. And if you have that one person talking with a disguntled customer, there goes 15 minutes. The staff has always been okay. I don't blame them for getting upset at the many situations they have to put up with. Unfortunately, us as customers witness it and there are some things you shouldn't say in front of the customers. This location thinks nothing of violating the tenants, seniors, peace and quiet and well being. The noise begins early usually at 4am. Then again at 6am thru the day sometimes until 9pm. 7 days a week! it can be brutal at times. Too make things worse they installed new extremely bright lights affecting our building. It's called "light trespas".. Its like having a semi outside your house with the high beams glaring through your bay window all night. Don't bother trying to get a passport here!!! I made an appointment (3 weeks in advance) and took my son out of school. I was called two hours before my appointment time to tell me the passport clerk had to leave and my appointment was cancelled. I tried to call back and the calls just drop. I tried to call any other USPS to get another appointment and you cannot get in touch with anyone. That should have been a sign. But alas, I hopefully made another appointment (another 3 weeks later, as that was what was available) at this post office, hoping it was a one-off, and it happened again!! They called me same-day, and cancelled my appointment! I have to coordinate with my co-parent's schedule, take time off work, and pull my son out of school to make any of the available appointment times and they have wasted all of our time, twice! This is Zero Rating, I went today to get my passport application within a walkin schedule as mentioned at the USPS.com as attached from today March 8. First I went to the first postoffice Cashier, she asked me that this postoffice does not take walkin, though I explained to her that USPS has provided this service at this location. Then I waited for the passport window to open which opened 20 mins late, though a customer was already waiting to get his passport done at 1PM which is also mentioned at USPS. after that person was done, I went to see this cashier named Carla, and asked her to take my walkin passport application, she refused though I mentioned that USPS says otherwise. I asked her to discuss this with Manager of this USPS location, but she refused to bring the Manager to me to discuss this refusal of authorized service. This is public service and no USPS location employee can deny service to anyone and have to follow rules and schedule decided by USPS. Hope Manager or USPS Board see this review and takes action against the employees who create such uncustomer-friendly like atmosphere and do not want to work, though they are paid by public. read more

Generally I have good service when I go in. My main complaint is there is virtually no way to contact them with a phone. If you call the number listed you get a voicemail and no one ever answers. There is no support tree to leave a message or communicate with anyone. If you open a support case with the main USPS, they will either contact you via email with little helpful info or will call and leave a voicemail that is so heavily accented and rapid that you can't make out what the guy is saying. They've also messed up multiple vacation holds. read more

I'm taking a star off for having no scale though, that's a pretty important aspect of post offices and being a shipping service. The other USPS locations typically have them. This post office is extremely convenient to me, but there's not much more good I can say about it. It has an automated mailing center, which gets it a star, but it's a bit wonky. If you need to go back a screen, you're pretty much screwed because the touch screen near the bottom doesn't work. Also, the line situation is ridiculous. Out of the 20 or so times I've been, only once was there not a huge line. Expect to wait 10 minutes or more. Just throwing this out there, but if there's always a huge line, at what point would one add additional counter people? For the love of all that's holy! read more

This office is still open and going strong. Two years ago they were threatening to permanently replace this location but so far the neighborhood maintains a stand alone post office rather than something ditched in a strip mall or shopping center. The former steady staff members are almost completely transferred to alternate locations but the current staff generally make things work. As always make sure you get here at least ten minutes before closing at 5pm M-F so you can get a park (their lot is small) and get inside before the merchant section is locked. The lobby is locked later so the office may appear open even when it is too late to conduct face to face transactions. read more

Didn't need to wait in the main line, only notified a staff member and waited at a separate (very short) line. All in all, was pretty impressed! After a bad experience with another USPS post office to process my passport application (TL;DR Made an appointment for both the photo and passport application but after a long wait time, came out with neither), I got my photos elsewhere and came here. LOST PACKAGE DROP OFF I was in the area, and decided to drop off two packages. I dropped it off meaning I didn't scan it. The line was long and a lady came out and asked if there is anyone who wants to just drop off packages. At my local post office in concord, I've dropped off many packages without waiting in line, over 150 to be exact. I am a reseller. And I've had ZERO issues. I dropped it off 5 days ago and it still hasn't scanned. I dropped off two packages and my other one scanned and has been delivered. I don't understand why the other one has not scanned and I'm really mad at myself because this package was pricey. In the hundreds. NEVER DROP OFF YOUR EXPENSIVE PACKAGE HERE. This tells me that they either stole the item or lost it. I am so mad!!!! The only thing I can do is wait while they investigate. I will keep you guys updated but it looks like they lost it and I am out of a few hundred dollars. I get to the Post Office to do a simple package drop off for my wife and grab a receipt for proof. Hallelujah, there is NO LINE!!! Honestly, I thought to myself, this must be my lucky day! Little did I know of the horror in customer service that awaited me. I approach the front of the line with a broad smile on my face only to encounter a worker who looked decidedly unhappy, avoided eye contact with me, and continued staring down and sloooowly putting a stamp on some package she was staring at. Welp, that's okay, she must be busy, I'll just continue to wait patiently until she is ready to help me out, the only customer in the post office. So I wait. 30 seconds...nothing. 1 minute, still staring straight down and completely ignoring me. "Okayyyyy," I thought, I'll just help her out and put my packages on the counter in the plastic bullet proof not-quite-glass turnstile thingy and spin it around for her, so she has to do minimal work. Surely at that point she will notice me, right?" Still no acknowledgment of my existence. After this continued for several more minutes, I finally spoke up. "Excuse me?" I asked. Still nothing. "Excuse me?" A little louder this time. FINALLY, she turned to me (this is after at LEAST 3 minutes standing in the front of the line). "Um, I just wanted to drop off these packages and get a receipt for it. Thank you." At this, the clerk whose eyes had taken over 3 minutes to finally focus on me, slowly rolled those same eyes to the top of her head as she turned away from me with a look of disgust. And I'm not talking about just a plain eye roll, this was a whole, "unmistakeable head roll combined with eye roll combo" look of disgust at the injustice of my query. I was incredulous, and slowly felt the anger roil up within me for the first time this morning. "Excuse me, did you really just roll your eyes at me for asking for a simple receipt?" She ignored me again, for about 10 seconds, before sloooowly turning to face me, "Excuse me, did you say something to me?" I repeated myself, "Did you really just roll your eyes at me for asking for a simple receipt?" The torrential outpouring of anger almost caught me by surprise, I wasn't convinced this woman would ever actually speak with me?! "Who says I was rolling my eyes at you?" (Uhh, MY eyes did?) "Excuse me, do you KNOW me personally?" (No, thank god!) "Do you KNOW how my day has gone?" (Um, its 8:50am, the day just started) "I was rolling my eyes before you even got in line!" (practicing?) I composed myself and asked her, "Um, if someone asks you a simple question for a simple service, and you immediately roll your eyes AND head at them, how do you EXPECT them to take it!?" "I don't CARE how you take it!" "You can take it however you WANT to take it. You don't KNOW me." Okayyyyy. Well this obviously isn't working. I give this post office 3 stars because they are less than average in niceness, the floors are not very clean because the janitors are lazy and make zero efforts to pick up the trash that patrons leave on the floor when discarding their open envelopes that they stand around opening the bills. The bills seem to get taken without questioning why theyr aren't suppose to litter the floors with the envelopes. maybe the patrons are slobs in their own homes. who knows? read more

I have made three attempts to make use of this post office, all were failures due to the long line. The main issue at this post office appears to be lack of staffing. Each time I come to this post office I park in the small lot on the western side that has 8 regular spots and 2 handicap spots. Then I enter the post office lobby and there is typically a line of 7-9 people waiting. The main holdup of the line is that there is always only one staff person tending to the line. I've noticed that other post offices in the area staff multiple attendants if they find the line grow long. This is not the case at this post office. As such, you are well advised to only use this post office if you must. I strongly advise going elsewhere. read more
