The absolute WORST. If I could leave zero stars I would. They have placed my packages on the porch after I repeatedly told them to put it in my mailbox because they have been stolen. In addition, when I have reported my packages have been stolen even though it says delivered I am pretty much told too bad. Today I cake waited in line over 30 minutes only to be told the person who handled the pick up window was gone for the day. If you can avoid this place please do so!! read more

Update: they ONLY and ALWAYS have ONE woman working the lobby area while the line goes all the way out the door and to the parking lot. They should really consider hiring MORE ppl to help with the overwhelming demand!!! This is the worst postal service ever. I waited for over an hour just for the woman at the desk to tell me they don't have my package and they are backed up! So you mean to tell me someone at the post office scanned my package as an attempt and my other one ad delivered when NO ONE even tried to deliver!!! So where is my package then?!?!? If I could leave a review with ZERO stars, I would. This is THE worst post office in Newark and probably the world. The manager is extremely rude and the workers I've had a few nice ones but overall, they're also rude. Everyone there is super slow paced. It's almost always to the point that there's a line going out the door. They RARELY ever do their jobs because they often don't deliver packages, and pretend that they "attempted delivery" meanwhile someone is always home and they would've left a pink slip if they did attempt anything. This has happened to me on NUMEROUS occasions (more than 10 times). Even if you try to schedule a redelivery, they won't do it. Anyone you ask that is from around the area can agree and say that this is THE WORST post office. The whole place needs to start from scratch by firing everyone that works here, management and the delivery people included. read more

I only put one star because you can't put any fewer. The people here are rude, appeared to be lazy, and are careless at their jobs. The carrier regularly fails to leave a notice of a package delivery, and then they fail to deliver it on the scheduled redelivery date. Pretty much, go to any other Post Office you can. Additionally, you can't even complain effectively on their website. I see why the USPS is going out of business. They deserve it. read more

UPDATE: 9-12-2019: ::sigh:: So I guess now the new thing on the tracking page of the USPS website is to say (and I c*p'd this directly): "Your item arrived at the NEWARK, NJ 07103 post office at 5:22 pm on September 12, 2019 and is ready for pickup." Except that's *not* what the tracking from the source of the package said, which was "No Secure Location Available". At least the former tries to clean it up: we have your package, come get it... that's *if* they even left a notice. But the fact remains that someone was home, and they still could have-- oh, I don't know-- maybe DONE THEIR JOB AND RUNG THE EAR-SPLITTING DOORBELL? Novel idea, amirite? Ugh. They are so bad at this simple act. UPDATE-3/24/2019: Wow. I really fail to understand how, in 2019, they still get away with "We tried to deliver but we had no access to the front door or mailbox". Pardon my lapse into crassness, but FOH. I live in a complex. There is nothing obstructing access to any of the complex's doors. We have working doorbells/buzzers. My family were all at home at the time of delivery, and the buzzers are so loud people in other apartments hear them going off and think it's *theirs*. The carrier didn't even try. No access to the mailboxes? I call shenanigans. There is a GIANT central mailbox OUTSIDE. Our boxes are large enough to fit a small parcel in--and I know for a fact my delivery could be fit into a small padded envelope. They are really getting out of hand. If anyone for this branch is reading this, DO. BETTER. Stop with the excuses, because this time you had NONE. If the standby really is "get rid of the packages" (a former worker insists it is), there's no reason for the carrier to not to have left my delivery in the mailbox. UPDATE-12/13/2018: Okay, these people have truly lost their cotton-picking consarn minds. It took my kid's encounter with the carrier today to remind me that said package carrier who wreaks havoc on my complex regularly tends to literally THROW deliveries at the bottom of the stairs or on the FLOOR at the bottom of the stairs if you live on the second floor. She did this today right in front of my kid! WHO. DOES. THIS?! I mean, if it was a fragile package, it would have been damaged! All this pettiness (or is it just laziness?) because she was inconvenienced with having to ring the doorbell two entire times. Awh, pobrecita. UPDATE: Got a call from a snippy, borderline rude someone at the facility who attempted to gaslight me about whether or not carriers ever delivered packages off their trucks to people in my complex--as if it was never done. Note to staff: gaslighting residents who have lived somewhere over ten years and who have been physically handed packages by a carrier inside the complex as little as three months ago is not a good way to instill confidence in your customers. Worst post office I've ever been to. They hire the most ghetto and rude people to work in this establishment. They are on their phone while assisting. It's sad to say that when you go somewhere in Newark you already know you're going to deal with bad customer service. I don't understand how someone can scream at a customer for asking questions. As always I'm not a fan of hood businesses due to the poor customer service and this place follows that same pattern. I wouldn't even go to this post office, but it is my local post office, so I have no choice. With the volume of people they get here they never have enough people to serve the customers in a timely manner. I have had to wait in excess of an hour, just to pickup a package. Some times they have a line just for people picking up packages, and it goes a little faster. I never have been treated rudely, but I've had to wait!! My problem today is that I had some contact lenses to be delivered, and I was supposed to get them on Saturday, but they were listed as "out for delivery" on Friday. I didn't get them. I figured they would come on Saturday, the original delivery date. Not so. I called the contact company and they said that they were "available for pick-up." I never got a notice that they were not able to be delivered, and since I waited for the mailman (who told me he had no package for me,) I didn't go to get the contacts. I tried to go online to have them redelivered, but the redeliver field remained blank, so I couldn't use that option. To say that this is an inconvenience, is an understatement!! I just am sooooooooooo disappointed, especially since now I'm out of contacts!!!! smh read more

Hey mailmen. Do you know what is the secure location available? Coming to my apartment and knocking at the door. I'm sure you will find a secure location right away, me. But if you come downstairs go to the mailboxes and put the easy ones and decide not to deliver the packages properly, then don't say there is no secure location. I'm disabled and tired of spending money in Uber to go get the package at the post office when I know for sure you had my package at my building the day before. The only way they leave the package is if they can stuff it in the mailbox.The only reliable mailman i can say is customer oriented is Timothy Melvin. He always has been very helpful. Thumbs up to him. And days ago another male mailman brought my package to my door too. One in a 1,000. Today Saturday, August 12, 2017 again Im getting another "no secure location" when i have been at my apartment all day. Hope this help the postmaster to tight the rope a little.
