We did not see elk during our June visit. They're at the refuge from mid-December through early April when they begin migrating. They move toward their summer ranges, following the receding snow line up to higher elevations in Grand Teton National Park & the Bridger Teton National Forest. From October through December, deepening snow cause the elk to seek food and shelter at these lower elevations in Jackson Hole.

There are areas to park, and you can just walk along the area and take pictures of the homestead barns and cabins with the incredible backdrop of the Tetons, or just a lovely field in the background. I came on a Sunday morning when it was kind of hazy and grey over the Tetons, and it was raining just a bit but the conditions were right that a few rainbows cast over the Mormon row buildings with the moody mountains in the background. It was very much a core memory - I can't rec a visit to this area higher, even if you only have a few minutes! It's absolutely worth it to see, and if you have some time you can walk around for a while.

Also, the sheriff who tracked them down to Cunningham's cabin, in a move that ended in the deadly gun fight. But more than that, it's easy to see how the rugged rancher life, subject to the whims of seasonal rains and draughts would, in the end, capitulate to the settlement with the Rockefeller land deal that lead to the establishment of the national park.

It's a federally owned hatchery that is producing two local types of fish to put back in the wild! We were provided a 20 minute tour by Emma. The tour was very informal. I could have been on the tour longer as was so interesting. After the tour, you can walk around the museum and hatchery. I'd not interested in a tour, you can walk around by yourself. At this place you can even fish in the small pond in the back, although I hear the fish are smart so you may not catch one! Open daily 8-5.

They took us at our scheduled start, and the ride was very relaxing from beginning to end. Rebecca was our guide, and she was fantastic -- great attitude, funny, and really engaged with everyone in the group. The ride was exactly 90 minutes, and all the horses were calm, steady, and made for a nice, slow, enjoyable experience. Overall, it was a peaceful and well‑run outing. Highly recommend.

We were a party of five and one of our members was sick. The day of our ride was on the 30s and rain (at the end of June). I contacted them again about rescheduling or a refund because this person would have ended up with pneumonia. Again no response. Furthermore the day of the ride they never even reached out to see where the five of us were. They had our email and phone number. That is completely unheard of. I agree with other Viator reviews indicating horrible customer service. There are many other horseback riding companies in Jackson. This was our first and last time using or referring this company.

We were thoroughly impressed with the staff and the wonderfully personalized care that our son received. It was initially nerve-racking to select child care at a business we never visited, but Shawn, the owner, was very professional and personable in our communication prior to the trip (she even offered to loan us an exerciser during our stay!), and their 1 : 2 ratio inspired a lot of confidence. Now that the trip is done, I cannot believe that I had any worries. If you're planning a trip to Jackson with an infant and you want a little time for horseback riding or float trips, I strongly suggest contacting Sweet Peas. Also, if I were lucky enough to call Jackson my home, I wouldn't consider having my son anywhere else.
