Having been exploring the Fargo downtown area for the past week it has become clear that vagrants and drug dealers hold rather prominent locations in the downtown area. When inquiring about it with the locals it was brushed off as a college town. Then the gas boom on the west side. Seems it is not perceived as a problem. As a consumer who is not in the 'know' I would be reluctant to be walking around with shopping bags. What I do know, is that I need my hands free. So I can interact with the groups of 3-6 men on the corners so chances of being harassed are reduced. These groups seem to move around as the sun rises but I never could walk very far before encountering the next group. Three blocks at most. Thanks Fago, but that extra stuff bag I haul around for the return flight will remain inside my luggage. Unused.
