The Lindenhurst USPS location is quite sizable as it services a large incorporated village community and beyond, north and south of it in its outskirts. There is a large PO Box area, passport picture area, small/large package drop window and packing envelopes/supplies as needed. It has a small parking lot for vehicles/bikes and ample street parking out front The postal workers that aid desk front are efficient, helpful, knowledgeable, always very apologetic for the long waits at times. Our daily mail carrier Mike is also super timely with the route and respectful of property delivery. Can't ask for more. We all should be thankful and grateful for what is offered and done. read more

Missed delivery attempt and requested to pick up package on specific date. Arrived on that date to be told they had no idea where it was. Returned an hour later to specifically ask that once it was found to hold onto it. Was reassured they would find it and hang onto it for me. Lindenhurst post office is refusing to door deliver mail to disabled 91 year old senior citizen who had her Dr complete the medical hardship form stating she's not physically able to get to the clubhouse for her mail. Before reaching out for help the customer had fallen 4 times, laid on the ground for over an hour and hurt her left leg and right knee. She has heart issues and not well. Was getting door delivery prior For a while like 10 months. I had it worked out with post office to door deliver her mail. She can hardly walk or move because of the severe arthritis through out her whole body. Everything was going fine until another mail person got involved and screwed it all up. She has completed the medical hardship form plus had her Dr. confirm her disability and that she cannot move around that easy at all. She's a fall risk. The customer is being discriminated against by the Lindenhurst post office regarding her disability by denying her door delivery. Looking for some justice especially for our senior citizens with disabilities. I'm hoping this unnecessary stress can be removed by approving door delivery for her. read more

i recently had two postal workers at this office help me solve a problem with a package that I was sure I'd never see again. The mistake was entirely my fault as it left my home post office with the wrong zip code on it. After extreme frustration with automated phone service and chat bots i had nearly given up. During what is probably their busiest week of year they made the time to get to the bottom of my mix up and solve the problem. very grateful because the contents could not be replaced . I am shocked to see how poor the reviews are of this post office. I've actually only had positive things to say. Yes, it is often packed but which post office isn't, especially on a Saturday. The people that work there are incredibly friendly and helpful. I came across the yelp reviews by googling the phone number so I could call and get reminded of the name of my postal working for a holiday card. When I saw the reviews I felt compelled to add my 2 cents because I generally disagree with the negative reviews. read more

Was called out by a supervisor named Dennis and almost denied service when I entered with a service animal in training. Was told only trained animals are allowed, well how does an animal get trained, by experiencing places that disabled people will visit. These animals don't have magic wands waved over them that make them service animals. The dog was on leash and wearing a bright yellow vest. VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! read more

The 2 woman at the counter are totally and completely useless and rude. Slow as anything and when the line gets long the one with the braid things for hair magically disappears leaving only one person at the counter. It never fails. read more

I can't speak for the actual post office itself, but as a Lindenhurst resident I CAN say that our mailman is horrible. Absolutely horrible. He puts mail in our mailbox that belongs to people either down the block or on other blocks in the neighborhood. This happens 6-8 times a month. When we leave it for him to take the next day, he refuses, LEAVES it in our mailbox and goes out of his way to slip our mail UNDER the mail that does not belong to us. Terrible, terrible, terrible. There is so much mail in our block that has exchanged hands and lost, its ridiculous. I guess There's no way to monitor the quality of the job they do. The post office doesn't seem terribly concerned. It's like a bad Seinfeld episode. read more

Every time I go to this Post Office it's just terrible, terrible service. Today was the last straw. Thanks a lot to the rude female employee with glasses behind the counter who yelled at my seven year old daughter for pulling out one of the greeting cards to look at. She's a kid, she's curious, I was filling out forms so I couldn't monitor her for that brief moment. But really, yelling at a child?? You made her cry, are you proud of yourself? Not to mention you and your fellow employees were blasting inappropriate loud music in the post office! Horrible place. The customer service here is ALWAYS AWFUL. I mailed a package to Chicago. Two weeks later it was still not delivered. I tracked it. The tracking said it was still at the Lindenhurst Post office. I went there to speak to the Lindenhurst Postmaster. I was told, "He will be out of the office for the next few days." I wrote to the receiving post office's Postmaster. She actively investigated my complaint. After an exhaustive month-long search, she concluded that "The package obviously never left the Lindenhurst Post Office. I went back to Lindenhurst and was told, you guessed it, "He will be out of the office for the next few days." I sent The Lindenhurst Postmaster an e-mail via the USPS official site. He never responded. UH-HA, Yeah, there is a problem with this post office. read more
