Rich, the Leesport, PA postmaster doesn't know the post office rates and or services. He over-charged a customer on Monday to send a book. He told the customer it needed to be educational to go media mail. That is incorrect, it simply need to be a book of at least 8 pages. When I printed out the requirements on media mail today (from USPS.com) and pointed out his error, he went ballistic. He said if he didn't over charge me then it was none of my concern. He over charged her $4-$5, depending on the weight. This is the second time he has yelled at me. The first time he said if I wanted my mail to go out that day, I need to bring it in by 3, note they close at 4:30 but I takes them that long to process 25 pieces of accountable mail. Same issue! Did not come to house, just left delivery attempt in mailbox! I guess it's to much effort to get out of the truck and actually do their job, you know, deliver mail or packages. With all the online shopping going on today, Leesport must have a huge warehouse to stock all the packages that don't get delivered! I'm going to stand by my mailbox tomorrow and see if the packages are even in his truck! No wonder the postal service is failing; Fedex and UPS take pride in their jobs- Leesport post office- not so much! read more

This post office (along with every other post office in the area) is filled with workers who hate life. As soon as you walk in, nobody says a word to you, they continue doing what they're doing (nothing most likely) for a good five minutes...ignoring you. They finally walk over and just stare at you with the most annoyed look on their face, so I just assume I'm supposed to speak now. They act as if you are just a huge annoyance to them and bothering the crap out of them. I have never in my life met such rude people. Is that a requirement to work at the post office? " Must be miserable, hate all people, and just hate life in general". It isn't just the Leesport post office, either. I don't think I've ever met a friendly post office worker. It's very strange. So tired of getting notes that either say 1. No one was home to take delivery of a package or 2. My home was blocked due to snow. There have been MULTIPLE instances where I've purposely stayed home from work for a package and they said I wasn't home. The mail carrier is too lazy to get out of her Jeep. Just recently we had a VERY minor amount of snow. I got up early and shoveled what little but there was and I salted my driveway and walkway. This was probably 3 hours before the carrier got there. I saw her pull up, sit there for a moment, drop something in my mailbox and leave. Too lazy to get out of her warm jeep!! read more

If you ever wondered why the us postal service is going out of business spend 5 minutes here. Lazy, miserable service. You are just an annoyance. Local postal worker wouldn't think of actually delivering a package and leaves notes to pick up. Its tough driving through wide open developments and placing mail in a box I guess. A shame. read more

This post office is neither good nor bad - they do what they need to and get the job done. It's small, so you might be stuck in a line depending on when you show up. read more

The main problem with the postal service that I have is the inconsistent ability to close & latch the DOOR properly on the mail box!!! The little effort to latch the door is sad to see that it cannot be done on a continual basis so that my mail does not get blown all over the neighborhood. Just picked my 2nd pc of mail in my neighbors yard in the last 2 weeks. Common guys & gals lets pay attention to your job and stop this laziness! Other than that keep up the good work. read more
