It's not the worst post office in the world, but I've been using it consistently since 2001 and…read moreit's only gotten worse, not better. I'm so tired of the ex-stoner who works there most of the time. I never remember his name, but believe me, you'll recognize him. He looks like a refugee from a 70s or 80s punk rock band who didn't end up succumbing completely to the excesses of the era. He takes forever with customers, asking them endless unnecessary questions, even when said customer has taken 12 or 13 minutes and counting. Get them moving and out of there! By now there are a dozen customers piled up in the lobby! It shouldn't take over 20 minutes to mail a simple package within the continental US. He always seems like his brain is fried. Simple questions are flustering to him, like he's a new employee. When you ask him a simple question about anything he snaps at you, like it's your job to know HIS job. That's not the way it goes for the real world. I read some reviews below. I saw one critic point out Stephanie. She is absolutely right to do so. I can't remember if it was to me or to someone else by now, but I remember her being handed a 50 dollar bill and her shouting "I'm not a bank here!" No, you're an employee. Act like a professional. There is one nice man, probably in his early to late 50s, who I used to see working the window more often, but sadly haven't in a while. He was always warm, even-tempered and professional. I miss him. I go here because this is my town, but I guarantee you the Sayreville post office is run much more professionally. Sometimes I go out of my way to go there even though it's a town over, just to avoid the palaver, brusqueness and idiocy that runs rampant at the South Amboy post office.

The old man who at the window was just rude and kept whining and whining about my package and how I…read morewas doing. This was my first time shipping something out like this and he had no right to be rude. My anxiety was through the roof and it was already bad enough. Where do they get these employees from? He complained I had no tape and that his job had no tape. All he did was complain and I was only nice to him. I wanted to get out of there fast. Terrible place!

They were hired for a "white-glove" in-home…read moredelivery, but the crew was unprofessional, ill-equipped, and physically negligent with the furniture. The crew arrived without basic tools and actually had to ask me for a screwdriver to finish the assembly. When I saw they were struggling with the items, I offered to help by watching the remaining pieces so all three men could safely carry the first heavy unit up the stairs together. Instead of being professional, one of the movers was incredibly rude, telling me, "Don't try to tell me how to do my job. You can wait upstairs." The "job" he then performed was rolling the boxes up the stairs rather than lifting them. While doing this, they complained the entire time about the items being "too heavy." Because they chose to roll the furniture instead of carrying it, the piece is now damaged. A drawer is completely misaligned and sticks out from the frame, and it is now physically tight and difficult to shut. It is clear that rolling the unit put stress on the frame and hardware that it wasn't meant to handle. If you value your furniture or expect a respectful, professional delivery experience, avoid this company. They are confrontational, lazy, and will damage your items.
