My name is John Ali, and I regularly handle shipping for StockX-related orders. On a typical month, we ship well over 300 packages, so I'm very familiar with how shipping locations operate and what basic customer service should look like. Unfortunately, my experience at this Hamtramck location was extremely disappointing. The employee I dealt with, Tina, was dismissive and unhelpful from the beginning. I asked a simple question about getting a label, and instead of assisting, she made the process unnecessarily difficult and confusing. I was told I needed to purchase tape, was charged for it, and never even received it. When I asked for a receipt, she did not provide one. At that point, I decided I didn't feel comfortable continuing the transaction. I asked for a supervisor, and the number I was given did not work. When I requested that she contact a supervisor directly, she refused. Another employee nearby did not step in to help resolve the situation either. Instead of trying to fix the issue, I was ultimately told they would not ship my package after already taking payment. The situation escalated further when I was threatened with the police over a situation that should have been handled professionally from the start. Given the volume of shipments we handle every month, reliability and professionalism are extremely important to us. Because of this experience, we will not be using this location moving forward and will be taking our business to another shipping facility. It's not reasonable that a large company, when the tracking number is lost, cannot find your messages by searching by the sender's name and address or the recipient's name and address, even though we put the sender's and recipient's numbers on the message and we have not received any help yet. read more

I bought a product through Amazon and they tell me it's going to be shipped by USPS. No problem, done it before. I then stop getting frequent updates about the delivery fay for several days straight with the Hamtramck office being the last point of contact. I try calling the Hamtramck post office with no one ever ringing. Literally could not be less helpful if they tried. Taxpayer dollars at work! read more

If they have to walk any distance they won't deliver your package. I had a package with a mobility aid set to be delivered today--no issue with the address--and it was forwarded back to the post office without any attempt at delivery citing incorrect address/delivery instructions. Now I won't be able to get it until after the holiday weekend at the earliest and I have a fracture. Seriously frustrating. read more

I wrote down each tracking number & brought them to this location soon as they opened , they basically told me they couldn't help , they couldn't look up my tracking number . She didn't even try to help , she just said "we dont have any mail here so it must have went out" accidents happen all the time , what If the shit didn't go out !? It's been four months I am living in this city. I am not getting any mails from last two months. I have three case numbers. Every time someone calls me and tells me problem is resolved, but it's not. All my mails going to former tenants new address. I went twice in seven days at this location. First I have to say the two person I met at the counter was extremely rude, insanely unhelpful and some other word start with R. They saw my South Asian face and already figured I was an idiot immigrant who can't speak and understand English. Specially this morning around 10.45am the lady shut the window on my face and went back of the room started screaming. I think she was embarrassed that I could speak English. I lived in NYC for 30 years. People say many bad things about my city. Never had this kind of situation. I pay taxes. Those people are there to the job and serve people, not giving attitude. Specially don't show attitude to a New Yorker. Does anyone know how to do a formal complaint? read more

You don't want to mess with the people who handle your mail and the workers at this Post Office know that and will use it against you. I like taking the time to head over to the USPS Post Office on 12 Mile and John R Rd. The customer service and assurance is worth it. read more

The Hamtramck Post Office is possibly one of the most unpleasant places to visit in Hamtown (I haven't been to the jail yet.) The place smells bad, the customer service is THE WORST, they are frequently out of certain boxes and other mailing supplies (IE poster tubes) and the line can be very long. I think that all of these negative attributes could be tolerated but the employees here are SUPER MEAN It's like their supervisor coaches them every morning by saying something to the effect of "Now don't forget to try to ruin every customers day today." Seriously, they are so focused on being negative that they cannot consider a positive suggestion to help you out. It is always just criticism; "this is the wrong tape on here" "your package is too small" "you were supposed to fill out the green form" "you cant get that on this package" etc... The employees here are always yelling (literally yelling) at some poor old Indian guy who cannot speak English well and is trying to mail something. There are a lot of English as a second language citizens in Hamtramck and the Post Office has zero patience when dealing with them. Seriously, why would you work in a customer service job when you hate people so much. This place just plain sucks, which is a shame because it is in a community that really relies on the USPS and the building is really cool with WPA murals (need restoration) on the interior. Terrible. I've never encountered such rude postal employees. They act as if answering your questions is a complete waste of their time and make you feel like an idiot for things even as simple as buying stamps. Also, the credit card machines seem to go out somewhat frequently. read more

Most of the employees are simply rude and arrogant. They never smile and always greet you with a blank expression. If you ask one too many questions they get aggravated. I have been to other post office in metro detroit, but this has to be the worst service in town. read more

I hate to go here. I complain to Usps 1800 number regarding the service issue specially with Miss Vivian. Miss Vivian have an issue with tossing mails on regular basis probably as a habit (even, I informed her that these packages contain fragile items) while the fragile sticker is already placed on them. But she still TOSS them. Complain was made about 4 or 5 times to the 1800 number; but seems like they are deaf. Please try to understand that we as a customer are the one you guys are getting paid. Job security seems like you already have. Let be not selfish and provide the services for what you are getting paid for. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I took my 8 year old to mail a package to her best friend (who lives in hamtramck) a package for her birthday. I live in imlay so I was told the package would arrive on time for the little girls birthday (March 5th) I get an alert March 5th at 7:41pm saying your post office attempted the delivery and couldn't access the delivery spot. LIE! They were at home all day, sitting in their living room, waiting for the package. Way to make a little girl cry on her birthday of all days all because your mail carrier was too lazy to walk up on the porch and knock on the door. And to lie and say you attempted the delivery ontop of it? Shame on you. Your mail carrier has threatened this household with withholding their mail all because they have a porch mailbox so it doesn't surprise me that the carrier would be too lazy to walk to package to the door but lie and say he tried to deliver it. Worst post office I`ve been ever go. Employees are rude, unpolite and not helpful - especially for an older people or second language people where many lives in that city. I had issues with them, my package was lost and I never got it even little refund. My mails are often mixed up, my neighbors bring me my mails. When I call them to ask for help, they hang up. Lady named Melanie said to me that "there is no package and period" and she hang up on me. So after calling asking for my package they make me fill that I am guilty for that package that was lost. They should be responsible for their job , but there are lazy people not helpful. I called to post master and he had never called back. I will vote for that this post office should be definitely closed - if the stuff won`t be fired and changed for responsible and trustworthy people. read more

I never really have a problem here. Employees are pleasant and seem to always be helpful. I think that some people expect magicians, and others have a language barrier. Maybe they could use a Middle Eastern employee, they always seem to be doing their best to try to help anyone when I'm in there. It's hard to help people understand when there's that barrier. read more
