Someone else and I needed to drop off a package and we couldn't find the collection box. It turned out that you had to turn the corner to find the collection box. Really? Also, the lobby smells like piss. Also, the lobby is lacking the important stickers for the automated postage center. For example, I attempted to mail a package today via the APC afterhours, and I needed to put a sticker on the box. It turned out that there were no stickers near the APC. All the stickers were behind locked doors. With no stickers, using the APC may be useless. Hence, I had to lug my box back to my house. FAIL. FAIL. FAIL.

It doesn't look like much from the outside but these guys have it far more together than other area post offices. The parking situation is pretty dire on busy days - it's a small lot on the side of the building or residential street parking. Don't even bother trying to come on a Proctor Farmer's Market day. Otherwise, it's not too bad. Inside, it's clear that this post office hasn't seen any real work (and maybe cleaning) since the 70s sometime. That's okay, at least it doesn't smell of cigarette smoke like other post offices I can think of. The space is small and a little cramped but flows well for such a small space. There are four windows for retail transactions and they usually have three of them going. The employees have some of the standard surliness of postal employees but a few have a sense of humor - what a nice thing to run into, actual human postal workers! Things I ship from this post office go just as quickly as they do from Pine Street, A Street, or any of the other local post offices. Funny thing, though, they seem to arrive at their destinations in better shape. Don't all flood the post office at once, now, I have all of these packages to mail.

I have a block style mailbox so the courier has to pay attention to what apartment they are putting it in and somehow can rarely manage to put it in the correct one. It becomes a major inconvenience considering it is items I've ordered that cost money and I have to hope I get them whenever the person who received my package is honest enough to bring it to me. it is currently the holiday season and I need my package between a certain timeframe, I would've gotten it on time had the courier delivered it to the correct apartment. I'm getting entirely fed up with this, and it needs to be corrected.

I'm taking a pass because maybe it's a local thing and the locals are agreeable to it and besides that, this is a review for the local post office. the Ellensburg Post Office, judging by content and context of the reviews, seems a mess but after navigating the streets and sidewalks and seeing what passes for acceptable parking out front I am inclined to believe you get what you deserve considering that postal workers are generally hired locally so these are your very own neighbors treating you this way... I just popped in to post a few cards and the drop box was clearly labeled and functional so I did not get to interact with the staff, just the folks coming and going and "parking"... not saying anything, just saying that sometimes you get what you deserve.

However the last few years: regarding P.O. Box mail. The back office has a systematic delivery method for the mail. That part is needed, however, some will argue this method can also target paid for boxes with service difficulties. Operational: The back office workers place the mail as far back toward their work space as they can. If someone doesn't go to the post office every day, back office personnel do not inch the mail slightly forward toward the customer access door. The small pieces are most vulnerable. Think size wise, of pieces such as 1099 tax statements. If something falls out the back, it is lost. Talking to mostly friendly front desk personal about the issue still can have the back office personnel delivering the mail in the back of the box.

The flow of service was quick & we only had to wait about 10 minutes. The USPS clerk was: pleasant, courteous, & efficient. Her personality was such that she was very empathetic to my disability & truly treated me compassionately. She asked if I needed stamps, I said no thanks. She offered different rates & I decided on the delivery date of Monday, Yay; it would not take a week to get to my BFF in AZ! I highly recommend this USPS!

We're not allowed to Unclip it. (Me)-What should I do? (Dawn)-put a rock on the lid. I do. 3- I'm not touching that rock, your dog peed on it. (Box is outside the gate). So I take the rock off and leave the lid to blow open. 4- your box doesn't have your address on it. (It's on the fence 10' away) I move the address next to the box. 5- The road is too rough. We grade the road. 6- it's too far...... Its .49 miles, under the. 5 limit. I file a complaint with the post master, she says we are. 57 miles from the mail box.
