If I'd never visited a post office other than the one in Gettysburg, I'd had no clue as to what was meant by the expression "going postal." I have had the need to visit the Gettysburg Post Office on at least a half dozen occasions and have consistently found each employee to be helpful, accommodating, and courteous. I've encountered a small line of waiting customers on most occasions, however the line moves quickly. Never had I heard an employee whine or exhibit an "postal" ( ?) mannerisms or behaviour. The parking lot is adequately sized, however drive cautiously I've noted departing customers in reverse oblivious to their surroundings with no situational awareness. I've never had an issue with the Gettysburg Post Office and rate them a 5. Remember that the cost of postage is not their fault! read more

Bad, oh so bad. I'm embarrassed for this outfit. Multiple complaints here, one overweight female clerk told a customer, "yeah, I'm mean. I like being mean". That same clerk on a different visit handled a package for me. She stamped it, I wanted to take a photo of it, she snatched it out of my hand screaming "no it's against post office regulations to photograph". I waited in line an hour, 14 people in front of me. Line unbelievably slow. 3 people couldn't wait any longer and left, unassisted. Postal employees wandering in and out of front area never to be seen again. I think they need a medical team in here to see if employees are still alive. I waited, waited some more and finally it's my turn to buy a money order. Young Asian clerk flatly told me "I can't help you". A manager was summoned. I'm not waiting in line for 1 hour plus to be told I can't help you. The manager asked "why won't you help her". "Well", said clerk, "I'll help her only if she has cash or exact change or a credit card". I had cash. I had exact change. I want to buy a money order. I'm not sure why this office is so singularly challenged, but it all stands back to management. I'm embarrassed for you and happy that I discovered Walmart has money orders, less expensive and less than 2 minutes of service I have the money order and was out the door. Avoid this location. No wonder their rating is so low. They have earned and live up to every poor review they have. read more

I Printed A Shipping label on eBay For 69 cents & my mom took it in & didn't hand them this she gave them another package she was shipping but They Seen her holding My letter With shipping on which she was going to put in the box when she left They Grabbed it out of her Hand& Bascily told her it Was Fake Shipping & it Can't Ship told her u a stamp cost more then That& Forced her to pay $5.50 & there was a line & They Told her that's the cheapest it Will Ship it doesn't matter & she paid it because they Wouldn't give it back & there was a line & she is almost 80 years old. So They Knew they Could Cheat her. The envelope was 4x6:inch and Just over 1/2 a Oz Which it could of went to 1 oz & it was 1/2 inch thick if that,Not Hard or Ridgid in Anyway. So Paid $5.50 To Ship 10 little tiny seeds that I only got what $3 for With the shipping cause Shipping Should of been 69 cents Plus post office will not refund eBay so they Will Not Refund my Shipping Because of It being Standard shipping.
