I had a decently experience gift sent to my partner back in January, only to get a call that something is wrong with the shipping label. In the past month and a half me and my partner have called nearly a dozen times each to zero response or call back. This is not the first time according to him that a package of his will not show up after 3 -4 months. read more

Florence Post Office is the worst! While our mailman is super great, the post office itself is NOT! I have been trying to call them for the past two days, and they refuse to answer the phone! For a government agency to be this lax is appalling! I am missing a piece of important mail, which showed on my "informed delivery," but didn't show up in my mail. I filed a claim online and they just told me seeing a piece of mail on "informed delivery" doesn't necessarily mean you will get that piece of mail that day! I have to wait 3 days to see if it shows up! This is most inconvenient and this is important mail! This is our tax dollars at work, friends, and it's not acceptable!! read more

This is the worst post office in the country and I've live in many states. I usually go to the Union PO because they are professional, respectful and help people. The Florence PO is the complete opposite. Last week I personally witnessed a postal clerk (white woman) disrespect and demean a black immigrant (presumably)...his package wasn't delivered and he asked her in a low polite voice if she would find out what happened to it and she refused in a very loud confrontation voice...he asked why and she got hostile asking him to move, he stepped away and waited and I thought for sure she was going to threaten him with the police. A tall postal clerk next to her stepped in and said to the man that he would go out back and try to find out where the package was after he was done with his current customer of whom he himself was dealing with impatiently, his customer didn't understand what priority mail was. language barrier I'm guessing. Today, an asian woman clerk was too busy talking comic books with someone she knew to care about my wait in line. Previous to that, she was being unhelpful and ignorant to an older women trying to understand why a package that was sent to her was marked undeliverable and returned to the sender. The asian clerk seemed confused by the situation or she pretended to be. Such rudeness and incompetence; they play silly games. read more

Sorry Michael, I do NOT agree with your comment. The line is horrible. I went there with 5 packages certified express. On my lunch break, which only had an hour for my lunch. Well I stood in line for almost 50 minutes. The crazy thing, there was 2 post master. The one decided to goto lunch while the line was a long. So I am way back of the line. I thinking what the the hell? So I waited and waited and waited...rrggg, frustrating. No wonder why the U.S. Postal Service,if you call it service. Is cutting 100,000 JOBS!. I feel that U.S. Postal Service worker are lazy and have no urgency. They think they work for the government. What a joke. Continuing on I finally got waited on, almost an hour later. I am the counter. I had the five packages that's needs to go express, and guess what? They wanted to charge me almost $20 a box, what a rip off. Each box was less then 1lbs. Who writes a review on a Post Office? Am I crazy? (Separate issue for a different day) How many places can you go where someone will suggest a less expensive option to gain the same service? I walked into the Florence Post Office with a sealed and addressed Priority Mail Flat Rate Box to send out of state for my grandson's birthday. The clerk asked the standard, "Does this package contain liquids, flammables, explosives, etc" question and jokingly I replied, "Unless you consider a pair of size 2T Oshkosh B'Gosh overalls hazardous...". She weighed the box and suggested that the USPS also offered a smaller Priority Mail box that would save half the cost and still arrive on the same day. Well, $7 saved is a beer or 2, so she brought me the optional box and a mailing label and I transferred the wrapped gift from one box to the other and was on my way. I considered this to be a random act of kindness, this clerk went out of her way to save me money, a rare thing in today's world. read more

If I could leave a one star I wouldn't hesitate. By far the WORST post office you could ever go too. The supervisor is extremely rude quite frankly a b****. My package didn't arrive, so i called ups, and they said it was at the post office in union, i went there, and they said it was at this post office, and that they would give this post office a call. I show up and they said they didn't get any call and my package isn't there., everybody will tell you something different. In my neighborhood, there cannot be mail delivered so i have to go pick up my mail & everybody's mail that lives in the house since my car is the only car and some people in my house are disabled and in wheelchairs. Sometimes I can pick up everybody's mail at once without them being there but Today I went to pick up mail, and he told me I needed everybody's ID, I picked up everybody's ID and I show back up and they say I cannot pick up anybody else's mail. Make it make sense. Shut this building down. Don't go here. read more

Eric G.(likely one of those pathetic losers, who thinks writing reviews on Yelp makes him an expert critic) asks why one would write a review of a post office. Easy: because they rarely do anything resembling their job because they're not held accountable for anything they screw up. After you've been screwed over by them dozens of times, you feel you should at least say something publicly (what else can you do?) As far as a cheaper service goes... do you want to go with the bare minimum for shipping important gifts and/or valuable merchandise? Pay a couple of extra dollars and see the job done. These people make it nearly impossible to even get a human being on the phone! They know they're awful. I'm writing this as a warning. I don't ship with them, but I have constant issues with packages being shipped to me because of doofs like Eric G. trying to save a buck. I'd say that you should complain to the Postmaster General, but she's not an elected official, so what does she care? Bottom line: don't use USPS at all! read more

The worst. I live about a mile and a half from this location, and though I technically live in Elsmere, I am forced to use a "Florence" mailing address, and worse, this location services our street for mail delivery. Over the period that I've lived at my address (14 years now), I have made several calls to complain about lack of mail delivery, receiving neighbor's mail, etc. Last year, I was even sworn at by the carrier--he sometimes wears headphones (they walk to each house, I can see it gets boring), so he can't possibly hear you when you're attempting to get his attention. I heard the mailbox shut and remembered I had a letter to go out and tried to catch him. I kept saying, "excuse me, excuse me!?" While he kept walking across the street. I couldn't see the headphones under his hat.... When I finally caught up to him at a neighbors house, and said, "Hey, I have a letter, I've been trying to get your attention!", he took off his headphones and said, "you don't have to be such a b**** about it. I didn't hear you!" and I reported him. I've also reported over the last two years no mail delivery for days on end--c'mon, we ALL get one stupid piece of junk mail; blatant lies about there being a dog tied out in the front yard so they were "unable" to deliver the mail (we both work and though we do have dogs, they are inside the house when we're at work--and we don't even HAVE a tie out in the front yard), and just recently, I put a bill in the box (sticking VISIBLY out) and when I returned home on Saturday evening, it was still there. So, my bill would now go out 2 days later in the post. The female "manager" or supervisor at this location is terrible--she's always on the defensive, yells to people about what you're complaining about while she's on the phone with you, and consistently denies that her carriers would "do" any of these things. Oddly enough, when I called Monday morning to complain about them not picking up my mail, she claimed that they only pick up mail as a courtesy if you have incoming mail. When I said that was a falsity, she backed up and then asked if they flag was up (there is no flag, it's a flip top box on my house) ; then, "was it visible?" A large white envelope sticking out almost completely from a black mailbox? Yep, visible. One would discern that since American's are utilizing the postal service less and less for email and delivery by UPS, that the demise of the US Postal Service begins right here at the Florence Turfway location. read more
