Ordered some headphones off of Amazon and being that i work all day i wasnt there when fedex came. I called to see if i could possibly pick it up today and as soon as i mentioned delivery i was literally just rushed off the phone and told to call back after 9:30. Worse post office known to mankind. No customer service and i've complained to usps about them multiple times and they continue to have them run a muck. They scan their packages as out for delivery when the packages are still in their trucks just so that online while you're tracking it, you will see they "tried". or think they are going to come. They constantly mark our packages delivery attempted when it's a place of business and someone is always there and they don't even leave a note half the time so you can bring to pick up your packages. The post master has to be the sloppiest sack of sh*t as well and i dare someone to say i'm wrong. If there was a way to give zero stars I would. I've tried and tried with the location and its unbearable every time. Package deliveries are a hit or miss. They don't attempt to deliver, they just force you to go into the location that's slower than molasses. So my package that has been out for delivery since 9/16, was requested for redelivery today 9/18 ( not by me ) is somewhere hijacked by their truck. I'll see you within the 15 day time limit to claim my package when my schedule permits. read more

I waited all day for my package to be delivered..The postal lady showed up, did not knock and never got out of the truck..I sent my husband to answer the door, she backed up the truck as if she was going back down the street, we never saw her again...This was before 4:30 pm..My delivery status kept showing it was on the truck out for delivery..I continued to wait, nothing and no one came..I then receive a message from the post office saying they tried to deliver my package at 7:18pm and I missed them but a notice was left...I was in the window and at the door the whole time so I know they are lying...I check my mailbox and there is no notice at all..I would give them a zero if I could just for lying and being incompetent. read more

I just had to come on here and just state one of my experiences with usps. It turned out to be great because your worker mr Q. He is such a hard worker but extremely pleasant. Ive also seen him interact with other ppl while he is delivering packages... this guy goes above and beyond.... He is handsome but kudos to you. I can't give zero stars, but if I could I would. This is the most UNPROFESSIONAL post office I have ever been to. The employees have the NASTIEST ATTITUDE and are extremely disrespectful. When I order packages from Amazon it looks like they get sent third party to USPS and this needs to stop, because none of my packages ever deliver. It's been multiple occasions where I have been home and I have a Ring doorbell with the camera and the post office claimed they tried to deliver the package and there was not a recipient... LIES! They don't even set foot on the property to even try to deliver and whenever you contact this location directly they treat you poorly and hang up the phone on you. Everyone here needs to be properly trained in customer service and need to learn how to do their jobs correctly. If I could they would get 0 stars. Like many of the other reviews state this location is very unprofessional and the supervisor is very rude, unprofessional and verbally abusive/attacking. On multiple occasions I was told a delivery attempt was made for a package in which was untrue because we had staff sitting and waiting by the window in the building for the package the whole day, so we know they did not come. They however did call and claim to leave a packaging slip which none was left. I tried call back the number that left the voicemail ( which was the Main Street location), when trying to call and inquire many times about the package they kept hanging up on me. Finally once I got through the supervisor answered said it wasn't her that left me a message so she can't help me and go figure who called me and hung up. Once I went in person I showed her that I attempted many times to have them re deliver which they honored none of them and even showed her the confirmations. She went on to tell at me and say my package is my responsibility and that my package was in a pile they have to return but she can't help me. She was very unprofessional, lazy and refused to help a customer. This has happened on multiple occasions and to multiple people, this location needs a serious intervention, they treat customers very poorly and unfairly and it's very wrong. read more

-1 star!!!! TWO HOURS waiting to receive my package that 1. their system couldn't retrieve the tracking #! The manager Robin had to go to USPS online! To find my package! Confirmed the package was there! Spoke to the mailman who delivers to my address asked why he didn't scan the package when he supposedly brought it back for no one being home .... advised the manager that I was on my way to pick it up! DO NOT DELIVER IT! Get to the p.o. wait in a ridiculous line that stopped at the end of the p.o. boxes! Only to be told a myriad of poor excuses! Which only added to my growing frustration! A nighmare! I ordered a product recently off of Amazon.com. what was suppose to be an easy two day shipping, ended in two phone calls, and two Post office visits! Apparently, my item was not delivered due to a "wrong address ", which was a lie. The lazy service employee just didn't know my door access code. So the next day it was suppose to be redelivered with the updated code information. Nope. Item was delayed for some reason. ..and never showed up! So I had to go down to one local post office location and was greeted with the rudest customer service ever. DUDE was on one. I decided to leave in silence or else this review would be coming from a jail cell in Rikers...lol. (Well depending on the wifi connection probably not). Fast forward to this main location, I had to wait on line for half an hour just for this elderly employee to say I need proof of address to get my package (which wasn't even there)! Later that day, my product was returned to sender! Still a mystery to me. I hope my dealings with this place gets better. read more

this is the WORST post office ever!!!!!!!!!!! the drivers don't understand that people live in apartment buildings and they have to ring the door bell to be let in. I have complained multiple times to the supervisor about their drivers and nothing has changed. I even leave notes on the doors to my building to let the drivers know to RING THE BELL TO BE LET IN!!!! FedEx and Ups understands my letter. why cant they???? I've lived in East Orange now 8 yrs and the Main Post Office in East Orange is by the worst postal service in the area and this new mayor needs to address his residents issues. Sep. 4th 10:am I mailed a package to a friend who lives in New York and its now 9/25/18 and he never received the package and an employee said I should consider the package lost as if that was my only problem. I told her on 9/22/18 while tracking my package it said out for delivery and later the tracking said item delivered but upon checking my mailbox the item wasn't there so I asked if they could ask the mailman who was the item delivered to and was told to check my mailbox and I clearly stated it wasn't. I ask to speak with a supervisor who then suggest I go around knocking on my neighbors doors to see who has my package so I ask to speak with the post master general and for some reason she's always busy which by the way is lie she just doesn't want to be bothered. Calling the complaint hotline is a waste of time because the women and Betsy are good friends. As a resident of East Orange we need to put a petition together and demand better service and if those incompetent workers can't provide than Corporate needs to replace all them with qualified candidates. After reading all the reviews we need to start contacting the Mayor office as well. read more

Had three lost packages with this post office in - 1 - Yes ONE month/ I now have to pay a $125 ticket to NY transit because mail was received 2 weeks late. Another package rerouted to wrong post office ended up in a lost christmas present which was not received by the person until NEW YEARS DAY. Third - no mail pickup receipt was left in my mailbox for a package. It sat in their post office for a week. When I went to pick it up I arrived at 4:05pm; they close at 4pm. I was told - WE CLOSE COME BACK TOMORROW. I refused to leave until I received my package. I have since open a mailbox in Newark and will have all my mail rerouted to them. I sent a letter out on tuesday from newark arrived in CHICAGO 4 days later. Why does it take 13 days for mail from East Orange Post Office to go to Brooklyn NY? Careless and lack of professionalism. this post office will never receive business from me ever again. read more

Since its Election Day, I thought I would mention that I have not received a sample ballot for a general election in a number of years. I have been a resident for 40 years in the same apartment building. The Post Office service has not been good. On numerous occasions, mail is late or missing. When I talk with other people about this situation, they also confirm that they have encountered similar issues. read more

I just fired off a lengthy email to Mayor Taylor and I hope it leads to some improvements. This morning I went to this post office to pick up a package from Amazon. Since my building number changed some months ago, the particular postal worker did not try to deliver, although up until this point, USPS, Fedex, UPS all know that a 100 Halsted St. address is 110 Halsted. Anyway, the postmaster told me to just bring my ID. Between them looking through piles in the back, coming back with nothing, then telling me to call Amazon to get my tracking number, looking again, then I finally got it. This ordeal was from 11 to nearly 12 noon! Oh yeah, and when I went away the middle of August and filled out the hold the mail form a week before I went away, they, unbelievably, started holding my mail right away! I had to make three attempts to get my mail delivered before I went away the following week. Even speaking to the postmaster general over the phone did not help. I had to go in person with my ID.
