You have to go through the post office…read morehere and if you're like me where you work 9 to 5 job there is no way to pick up any of your packages unless you are there during their work hours because they won't utilize the island that they have in the post office to store packages for people to pick up after business hours, so if you like me and you work 9 to 5 job and if you currently don't have a car like I do I have no car that runs. I have no way to get my packages. I have to take off work and leave work early just so I can make sure that I get my packages and that they don't get returned to the sender so when I talked to the ladies that work at the post office and I simply told them that I have no way to pick up my packages unless they put them in the island for me to pick up after hours they just told me that they are too busy to do that , all I'm saying is they should have a solution for this because it's very frustrating. There is no good shops around here and online shopping for a lot of people. Is there only resort to get the things that they want and at the end of the day this establishment is very anti-consumer they don't have solutions for their problems. They'd rather get mad at the people who simply live here. Trust me living here is not a positive thing so I'm sorry to the employees that are tasked with the painstaking objective of putting away mail. We should all apologize as customers of the Cosmopolis post office for wanting to get our packages before they are returned to the sender since the people at the post office will just hold your package and not try to put it in a place where you can access it outside of business hours I really think they need a better system so people can pick their packages up past 5 o'clock because I am going to have to take time off work just to pick up my packages since they do not listen when I ask them kindly to put their packages in the island for me to pick up. they do not utilize that system at all. They would rather get mad at the citizens of Cosmopolis for simply wanting to get what they ordered , I'd rather shop local but no local store has anything at all except Walmart if I had an alternate way to get mail delivered to a different place, I would absolutely do it. I've had packages arrive, and I've had to argue with the employees about them being there when they insist that they weren't, but I was the one who was correct and the packages were there so you have to be assertive in situations where you shouldn't be, and they also are constantly messing up the Mail system and sending mail in the wrong places I would just keep an eye out if you live here because many times they will give me mail that isn't mine I can't wait for robots to take these jobs. At least the robots won't have an attitude when I ask them just to do a simple task, marines, construction and fireman all bow to the enduring and holy post office worker who has the hardest job on the planet and should be worshiped daily for their unwavering perseverance, and dedication to their country

I know that's kind of morbid, but with a name like Cosmopolis, it sounds super futuristic. There is nothing futuristic about this mill town. It is right next to the water which brings the lumber to the mill which is kind of cool. This post office is small though and has parking on the street and it perfect for the size of this town. I took the scenic route along the Western Coast and through the Olympic National Rainforest. It was a gorgeous drive with the Pacific Ocean and tons of gorgeous water inlets until you get all the way down to Ocean Shores. My take away: Cute little beach town on the western coast of Washington. Why should you come here? You can actually see whales! I went to Point Brown and saw my first live whale EVER! It might have been two. But everyone out on the rock walls threw up high fives and smiled huge happy grins in a moment that connected strangers during a pandemic. It was heartwarming. I didn't eat anything, but enjoyed a grocery trip to the IGA. I loved the humorously labeled isles, but didn't find EXACTLY what I might have wanted. There are lots of potential for touristy activities, and even better: tourist traps to spend money looking for the perfect magnet and post cards!

Spent Saturday on Memorial weekend in Ocean Shores. Busy weekend and the city had locked all the…read morepublic bathrooms at the beach. People in long lines realizing the doors weren't opening. Even the public Porta potty was locked. Elderly, disabled, young and old left trying to find a place to use the bathroom. McDonald's women's bathroom had only 1 working toilet and Subway only has 1 toilet for women and 1 toilet for men. People were using the dunes for their personal bathrooms. Stores don't offer bathrooms to public. We usually go to Long Beach but chose Ocean Shores cause it is closer but after seeing how the city treats tourists we won't be back. In fact, we normally go through all the little shops and eat dinner in town when we do a beach day, We chose not to do that and we left and ate dinner back in our hometown. Ocean Shores is extremely rundown and doesn't seem to be that welcoming to visitors. We most certainly will not be back and will continue having our wonderful beach days in Long Beach.

Originally written 11/18/2012. All the post offices on the coast are so small and cute and seem like they are very quaint and old school. I missed this post office the first time I road by. They also have a satellite office for Copalis Crossing at the grocery store, so there are technically two places you can mail in Copalis Crossing but this is the main office.

Since June of this year, we have had to call on OSFD EMS 12 times to help him up when he has fallen…read moreor collapsed due to medical issues causing extreme weakness and immobility. The EMS have been prompt, efficient, and compassionate. They have always checked his vitals, physical, and mental condition and asked if he wanted to be taken in to the hospital. This past week, he had fallen and put a gash in his eyebrow requiring a trip to ER in Aberdeen. They did give us the option of going by ambulance or by personal transportion. This has always been a CHOICE! He was transported by them! The OSFD EMS are my heroes! Day or night they are at the ready to do whats needed!

Housed in a renovated Carnegie library building around the corner from where the bus stops, they even have an old grandfather clock and their underground parking beats Aberdeen's tiny outside area. The only downside is the main collection is on the second floor, while the bathrooms are in the basement. I also wish they weren't closed on Mondays. As in other Timberland libraries, the WiFi is good and they even allow limited free printing. Their interlibrary loan is also free and you can return materials to any Timberland branch.
