Went in this afternoon to see 7/8 people waiting online and no help behind the counter. One worker was behind counter scanning packages ignoring customers. Another was helping a person with passport. I don't understand this. When I asked where the help was the man behind the counter answered everybody retired and they didn't hire new help that was his answer. This is horrible . Huntington had 2 people working and 15 people online. How are you supposed to mail a package today if you don't dedicate your entire afternoon! Post office does not give a shit! read more

This is the worst US post office in Suffolk County went there to get a passport renewed the gentleman that deals with it's been at the post office since I've been in Commack for over 25 years, the most arrogant unfriendliest, miserable human being you ever want to meet. Why the post office keeps individuals on their front line versus back in the mail room is beyond me. Very hit and miss here. If you get the one fellow who might be Indian, remember to bring your pajamas cause he is as slow as molasses. USPS is horrible, every time they handle my mail it ends up going back and forth from out for delivery and then back to the distribution facility for almost a week or more. I dont understand what they do here, but im hoping they get phased out by private mailing companies who actually know what theyre doing read more

Just went to drop off a package to send back with the label and packaging provided by the company. The woman behind the counter told me that my return label was unable to be scanned. I told her that I have never heard of such an issue and left. I went to the post office in Nesconset and the same package, with the same label, scanned without a problem. I will no longer be returning to the Commack post office. read more

I have had multiple problems with weekend delivery. I have tracked several packages that say out for delivery and then after hours of tracking the package the website will say "Delivered" several hours earlier when there was not delivery attempt and I was sitting 3 feet from the door watching Television when they state they "Delivered" the package. Of coarse I have my regular letter mail. this is a case of the mail carrier not wanting to cary a package around and so does not deliver it. This is the 3rd time I have had this happen and I'm pissed. read more

I rarely write negative reviews but the staff (ladies) here are very rude and discourteous. We had to go there twice and no instructions were given to us. We had to book our appointment at some other USPS office... Avoid this location at every cost!!!! read more

We had excellent service in Islip, then our company moved to Commack. Countless times back and forth to this post office to sort out the mail delivery. The mail carrier would come at all different hours of the day, or not at all. Every single person I've spoken to in person or by phone had a different reason for what was going on, they take zero responsibility for anything. "You have no mail today" was one reason, then I'd go down to the office and whaddaya know? They have a whole STACK OF MAIL behind the counter. "Hmm I don't know why this wasn't delivered, I'll have someone call you." Yeah well don't hold your breathe. Just one of the many headaches we experienced. We needed to have mailboxes installed, open a PO box, every single transaction was a nightmare and no one knows what is going on, or the person in charge "isn't available". We've been in our office for 4 months and still don't have a mailbox. Why do we have to call 1000 times to get a working mailbox?! No wonder no one uses snail mail anymore. Update: 4/21/16 mail delivery times have gotten better. At least we are finally GETTING the mail. Several times they have not emptied the outgoing US Mailbox, most recently today. We have time-sensitive letters that needed to go out. What happened to customer service? I think they are hiring bottom of the barrel mail carriers. THE worst. read more

I went in there early this morning. Normally the women that work there are extremely helpful and pleasant. That was not the case this morning. I had the unfortunate experience of being helped by the older sourfaced "gentleman" that worked at the very last register from the door. I needed to send a package internationally and I had a few simple questions as I have never done this before. When I questioned what to expect with regards to my package he had no answers. He seemed annoyed and extremely dismissive as if he had something better to do then the job he gets paid for. Needless to say I left without having mailed my package. Perhaps this employee would be better suited to the back room where he is free of customers asking questions. read more

I was told I would need to fill out form and return to front of line. After I did that I stood there waiting at the front of line for 2 minutes. A customer later did the same thing too after filling out a slip. When finally called a very rude clerk at the window next to doors said the other customer was first. I did not bother explaining because she had such a poor attitude. Most clerks in that PO are friendly except for the female next to door. She could use a lesson in customer service. Disappointing the original clerk did not speak up. He even looked like he had better days. Energy was just bad! read more

Im not sure if its because its after the holiday rush but I had no problem at this post office. The lines moved swiftly and I was in and out. For thus who are in a complete rush or absolutely don't have a New York minute they have a 24 hour self service center. Yes so you can ship and label your mail anytime of day. There is ample parking and plenty of mailboxes outside the office. Lets not forget most importantly good customer service. These days lots of businesses are forgetting about that! read more

i ordered an item on EBAY which was delivered to the USPS on 2/9/2019. When you look online to try and track where the item is it states its in transit and it was last tracked on 2/13/19. Hello. It is 3/3/19. On 3/9/19 it will be one month. i went to my local post office on Saturday 3/2/19 and the Supervisor at the Howell USPS told me there was nothing he could do. i would think they should be able to track a package to its exact location but i guess not. if they lost the item they need to own up to it. Think twice about using the USPS. I paid for an item i have not received in about 1 month and the person who sent it to me can't give me a refund because supposedly the package is somewhere in the USPS. read more

I usually drive from East Northport to commack to use this post office because the East Northport one is SO DAMN slow! If there is a line of three people there it will talk you at least 20-30 minutes to get out of there! Terrible! Go to Commack it is worth going the extra few minutes out of your way to keep your sanity. read more

Stopped by Saturday morning to get a change in address form. The forms weren't stocked. There was a long line so left to come back. I came back 2 minutes after one and a man rudely shut the door and gate. I never would have had to come back if they would have stocked properly. Very disappointing to have to wait now until Monday. read more

I had an appointment today to renew my son's and husband's passports. John was the postal officer that helped us. He was friendly and very helpful. Would recommend anyone to make an appointment for passports. read more
