Knowing how post offices can kind of suck, and lines are similar to the DMV, I arrived promptly at two minutes until 10. The first two appointments were already in line waiting. Promptly at 10, the first appointment was called to the counter and didn't have his paperwork filled out in black ink and he needed to go to the side to fix this. Instead of starting with the second appointment, she wanted to give the guy a chance to fill his stuff out. Since I was a walk in, I walked up to the counter just to verify that 1) they took walk ins, and 2) I had all my information filled out correctly. Everything was in order so she went ahead and slipped me in, rather than waiting until the appointments were completed, since she thought she could do it pretty quickly. Now, remember, this is a government agency. She didn't have to make the effort to try to slip me in, but she did. I was in and out in five minutes. She took her job very seriously, but was very efficient and I was a happy camper, on my way to do anything other than waiting in line at the post office on this day.

STILL RECOVERING FROM P.O. THEFT: Over a year ago, I dropped…read morebills (with checks) in one of the outdoor Briargate P.O. drop boxes on a weekend. I heard the envelopes fall, the drop box was not full. A week or so later, I saw several unauthorized checks clear my bank account-- FORGED. The checks were an odd size, had my bank (but not bank address) on them, but with my correct account number. They were clearly (to anyone savvy) not checks from my bank. They were made out to a weird name, spelled differently on some of the checks, and for over $1K. My banking institution took care of everything. MY GUESS: A Briargate P.O. employee pocketed one of my bills as they emptied the outdoor drop boxes (out of sight of any cameras), then proceeded to forge off my account. I now NEVER use drop boxes. I'm probably not the only one whose mail or checks were stolen. How many people have been victimized at this P.O. and they don't even know it? The crime against me was very obvious and easy to identify. smh

Imagine my surprise to have the cherry on top of cheery, lovely service every.single.time. I come in (which is fairly frequently). The business appears to be family owned, and they've got a litany of other services I wouldn't hesitate to ask for, if needed. Whenever I have a package to pickup, it's always quick, efficient, and with a smile- what more could you ask for? When I noted this to the cashier at the register, she responded rudely that she is not the one who "throws the mail." She then directed me to speak with the manager. It's safer to drop off mail here because theives have been stealing from residential mail boxes... and taking deliveries from people's porches! I'm glad that I already had postage stamps on me. Because it was a Sunday, the Post Office was closed, but the self-service kiosk was open. Customers were waiting in line to use it! Forms for holding mail and other services were available... as well as free flat rate boxes. There were so many boxes for secure mail delivery, too. Thanks for being reliable, US Postal Service!

The Monument post office has been holding my package hostage since Nov. 11. It came back, landed in Monument, and there it freaking sits. I call and the phone rings forever and then it hangs up on me. WHY DO YOU PUBLISH A PHONE NUMBER ON A PHONE YOU NEVER ANSWER? I opened a case several days ago. My local PO is handling it, and has told me they've sent several emails to the Monument post office, but are not getting a response. Apparently there is no way to for one post office to contact another post office other than emailing, which seems insane to me. Maybe they are nice as others have indicated, but they sure are not responsive to someone who is trying to find out what the problem is with getting my package delivered. Glad I don't live in Monument and have to use that post office. At least my post office answers their phone.

When the USPS got rid of the custom forms and wanted for you to print one at home (and my printer broke) they would have a computer and printer that you could use right there in store. Now they got rid of that and they do the customs form for you! Talk about customer service. I always bring here my packages and I get my stamps too. I love that you can find all sorts of Colorado Springs postcards too (for the visiting friends who like to mail some home) and also artwork from local photographers. My daughter had many questions as this was her first time getting an adult passport. SEAN was curt, dismissive, condescending AND belligerent. We asked why he was being so rude, then he became ruder. Yelling at us at the top of his lungs in front of 15 other customers AND his supervisor MARGARET (who was standing just a few feet AWAY!) Margaret she said she would 'talk to him' about his behavior 'later'. TALK to him about his behavior?? TALK? I have never been treated so poorly at the USPS in my entire life (and I have been going there for over 40 years!) SEAN has NO business being employed at the USPS or anywhere! THE ONLY explanation for SEAN's behavior in FRONT of his SUPERVISOR is that he is confident he will NEVER be fired. The staff at this location - not only made it happen in a matter of minutes - but they were friendly, helpful, and efficient. Tori was so what's up. She was quick to get all of the necessary information from me and then followed up with a receipt and an estimate of when my package would arrive. The next day she was kind enough to provide a tracking code and a helpful E-mail. If you need something important printed and shipped - I wholeheartedly recommend this location.
