If I could give this USPS location a zero rating, I would. I sent a certified legal letter to a location in Bronx NY. After arriving at the NYC Distribution Center, I stopped getting tracking updates. I filed a USPS lost letter request, and a CS supervisor named Omar Ventura responded a few days later. He claimed the letter was delivered (But had no proof) but the tracking and signature wasn't done. I called the destination, and they said they received nothing. It's bad losing a legal letter in the mail, but it's worse when an USPS CS supervisor lies to you. And you can't get your money back for the horrible USPS delivery service. What a joke ! read more

Every time I have to visit this location for a package, it's understaffed with a huge line waiting. There's five or six booths but only two employees who are actively taking customers at a time. Only reason it doesn't get one star is because the workers who help me tend to be very nice and understanding, but I see from other reviews that this isn't everyone's experience. read more

In the past I have not had good experiences at this post office, so I choose to go to post office is further away, but today I had to pick up a package for which a slip had been left in my mailbox. I had several things to take care of during this visit, the most important being sending a package to my grandson for Valentine's Day. There was a worker out on the busy floor helping customers to be sure that they had the correct supplies and information for their packages, helping locate packages for pick up, and scanning in postage-paid packages. As a result the line was running smoothly, and people felt like they were receiving good service, so the atmosphere was pleasant. When the worker was not able to locate my package, she took down my information, and explained that she would speak to my postal carrier and get back to me. I felt satisfied with my visit. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. This is one of the worst USPS offices there are. I've been put on hold multiple times for over 1 hour. I used to work for the government, and still, I have never seen an organization with such lack of service and class. Customer service should be the #1 priority, and it is clearly the last. The most unfortunately thing here is that, people still need their mail shipped, and locals will have no choice but to deal with the lowest bitter of service. There has to be a better way. I'd write a letter directly to USPS HQ, but I've tried this in the past and there really isn't a way to get it in front of anyone that cares. I've almost lost all hope in the USPS. Shame. read more

If you want the worst service, worst attitudes, and longest lines (while the mail people are in the back busy talking to each other) then head on over to the Wakefield Branch of the US Post Office. This place is like a fish market, there is NO order. Be prepared to be jumped ahead of in line. Be prepared for blank mindless stares from the workers if you have questions. If you can, use the post office at Gunhill (I've been there, much nicer/more professional!) If you can use one in the City, even better! I don't usually leave reviews, in fact, this is my first review on YELP. But I've had it with them! The Wakefield Branch of the USPS is the absolute WORST!!!!!!!!!!! Make America Great Again! How is that even remotely possible when you have a consistentlyl sub-par USPS facility operating like this one? I paid for a letter to be signed for by the recipient, and the postal delivery person just threw it into the mail box. The intent behind spending almost ten-bucks ($9.70 to be exact) for accountable mail, was so that an invalid-person would not have to struggle to go to the mailbox, and that the letter would surely arrive. How can the American people have confidence in its government agencies when what should be a premier government service is BROKE? Allow me to caveat my statement by saying that not all post offices are broke, but this one in particular is quite broke, and has been so for many years. Is there no one who can go in and fix this place up? Have the delivery personnel of this particular postal station just given up on what is their legal, and moral duty to properly deliver the mail? Have their been any firings or incarcerations due to failure to perform one's duties, or for criminal acts? The worst post office! They're beyond rude.., the line to pick up a package is always long and no one ever wants to really help you. Sucking their teeth is a greeting, they take your tracking info and literally crawl to get it. Short African American woman with glasses must be a really miserable individual. Are you kidding me? If I could give them a negative 10 stars, I would. Ridiculous long lines with only 2 windows open, employees talking to each other instead of trying to help customers, employees socializing and then have the worst attitudes for people who have to deal with the public. Nasty set of people they are who act like they are doing you a favor. Don't ever have a problem and have to call them. They absolutely do not pick the phone up. If I did not have to go there to pick up packages that needed a signature, I would never go there. Whenever I need to go to a post office for any other reason, this branch is avoided at all costs. Now let's get to the mailman that stole my package. Tracking shows delivered but no delivery and no signature. I had to call Macy's and thankfully they refunded my card. Tried calling this branch first but of course no one answers the phone no matter what time of day you call them and of course I refuse to go in person just because I do not want to deal with anyone's nasty attitude. This post office is one of the worst I've ben to. I pay for deliveries that never get made, always state that a attempt to delivery was made when I've been home the whole day. They leave your packages outside, and now they can not locate my son Christmas gift that I paid $21.35 for 2day delivery and still has not arrived or has any update status when I try to track it. read more

This has to be the WORST post office in the ENTIRE Bronx. Apart from being rude, slow as molasses and unprofessional they have 6 windows and you will NEVER find more than two windows open. The line is always out the door (no matter what time of the day) and God help you if you need a pen to write something out!! You can't find one and the staff will ignore you if you ask to borrow one. There are no machines to buy a stamp so if you need a single stamp be prepared to wait a minimum of 25 mins on line!! Please avoid at all cost!!! read more
