Now the attitude, there was one poor lady looking for Christmas stamps and another trying to figure out if she had enough stamps. The teller caught such an attitude to the ladies mundane questions and was curt. What needed to be done was done but the teller could use some customer service training.

This is not a comment that is acceptable in any setting, but abhorrent when it's said in front of a child who has the same last name. It represents our family, our culture, our heritage. If you are trying to provide culturally competent care, (which any agency that represents the government should be trying to provide), this is not the comment you make. My husband simply responds, "It's not too long." She looks visibly upset, and proceeds to be rude and abrasive in her tone and dismissive hand-waving for the duration of the appointment. All of this with our child present who is confused as to why this lady is "being mean." Read their reviews. This is not an isolated incident. It's what they're known for. Disgraceful experience. The guy I interacted with was polite, helpful, and efficient. Overall a good experience. While waiting in line, I had the pleasure of witnessing a few "difficult" transactions. Every single one was the customer's fault. Look, if you don't know what you want, and can't make a decision when the employee clearly lays out your options for you, I have no idea what you expect them to do. They're neither magicians nor therapists. I'm not saying this post office doesn't make mistakes or that every employee is terrific all the time, but in my sample, they were 100% blameless. The people working at this post office deal with some of the rudest, stubbornest, most ill-prepared customers I've ever seen, and they do it with a level of patience and courtesy I could only dream to achieve. Later I looked at my receipt to see when the item would arrive and I noticed he shipped using 1 day priority mail, that is not what I needed nor wanted. Today I stopped by twice, once for a money order and then once more for a box. I was able to experience two different types of service. When I first walked in the door a friendly employee waved me over. I had a lot of cash that I needed to trade in for a money order. I had counted the money several times but obviously the employee needed to double check. The employee struggled with counting a large amount of different bills. It took about 15 minutes due to starting over a couple of times. I ended up having to get two money orders since there's a dollar limit and in total it cost me $3- not too bad. The employee thanked me for coming and I was on my way. I actually prefer this post office over the one on Rollins. It's bigger and offers more supplies. The lines typically don't have more than three people at a time as well. About an hour later I stopped back in to purchase a box for an upcoming package. This time I had to wait in line. It was a long wait considering only one person was in front of me. One counter was closed but an employee was present. Another counter had an employee who wasn't calling customers over and finally a counter with the same woman who helped me previously. Eventually another employee called me over and assisted me with my purchase he was friendly and answered the questions I had about shipping and I was again on my way. I would recommend stopping in if you need to mail anything.
