I'm letting my YELP family know that NTIHN has temporarily moved all of their appointments to the Frisco office due to the pandemic. They have an impressive COVID-19 protocol in place for your protection! If you are immune-compromised, I'm letting you know this office is doing an excellent job of keeping you safe. When I arrived, a note said to wait outside and ring the doorbell. Office staff met me at the door and instructed me to stay on the entry rug. No one was seated in the lobby. She took my temperature and had me fill out a COVID-19 related questionnaire. Everyone in the building was wearing a 3M type medical mask. I was taken straight to an exam room, and instructed to place my personal items in a bag they provided for me. I changed into a gown. As I waited they had a monitor in the room that stated: this room was sanitized with medical-grade wipes between patients, and steamed cleaned last night. We are also utilizing medical-grade air filters throughout the facility to capture a large percentage of airborne COVID-19. Nice! NTINH works as a team, amazing people who definitely go the extra mile. I've been a patient of Dr. Sorins for years, he was the first doctor to take my migraine pain seriously. Eventually, the Botox for migraines is what saved me. I thank the entire team here! Because of Dr Sorin, I'm able to live a normal life. Stay safe.

She went over test results with me and gave me copies. She said that Dr. Ansari did not note something he'd said directly to me during the test. In the paperwork, it was absolutely noted in black and white and I had my primary confirm that I was reading the notes correctly. They did not tell me the results of at least one other test. The Research department is awful and disorganized. I was blamed for something because the manager forgot to forward her emails when she went on vacation, and my phone calls were not returned. The manager did apologize when she got back from vacation, but at my next appointment, I saw someone else and she brought up the incident again, and blamed me for it then too, chastising me like a child for a mistake that was on them. I decided to continue until I was scheduled for a phone appointment and I spent two hours waiting around after the time had come and gone. Was told that they were actively trying to reschedule my appointment in the system during what was supposed to be the appointment time and did not notify me at all. I will not be going back and will have my primary refer me to a different neurology practice. They get two stars only because I believe Dr. Ansari is a good doctor.

My wife had a neurology appointment scheduled--an appointment we were relying on for a serious medical concern--only to discover that the office had **cancelled it without bothering to notify us.** No phone call. No voicemail. No text. No email. Apparently, communicating with patients is considered optional here. The irony would almost be funny if it weren't so infuriating. **It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that if you cancel someone's appointment, you should probably tell them.** And considering this is a *neurology* office, you would think that concept might be somewhere within their intellectual reach. Patients aren't calendar entries. They are real people dealing with real medical problems, rearranging work schedules, family responsibilities, transportation, and their lives around appointments that can already take weeks or months to get. Mistakes happen. What separates a competent medical practice from a dysfunctional one is how those mistakes are handled. Silently cancelling an appointment and leaving the patient to discover it themselves is not an innocent scheduling error--it is an astonishing lack of professionalism and basic respect. If this is how the office handles something as simple as notifying a patient of a cancelled appointment, it certainly doesn't inspire confidence in how they handle anything more complicated. At my 2-week post-op appointment and every appointment afterward, I repeatedly tried to explain how intense and persistent the pain was and how concerned I felt about it. Unfortunately, I left those visits feeling unheard and dismissed. I understand recovery from spinal surgery can be difficult and unpredictable, but as a patient, I desperately needed reassurance, guidance, and to feel like my concerns truly mattered. Instead, I personally felt like I was repeatedly told to "wait it out," even as the pain continued month after month. During this process, I was referred by Dr. Kalra to multiple different specialists in an attempt to address the ongoing nerve pain. However, after being evaluated, those doctors ultimately referred me back to Dr. Kalra regarding the issues related to my fusion and recovery. This left me feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn for answers or support. More than a year later, I am still dealing with the same nerve pain that began after surgery. This has significantly affected my quality of life.
