National Floor Covering - Bedroom before and after

We like to support family owned local businesses. The owner Jeff came out to our home with LVP…read moreflooring samples. He was so nice & friendly. Jeff was very knowledgeable. He advised as a home with pets, LVP is the best flooring option. It is durable. He said it would last 20 years. We signed a contract to have LVP flooring installed on the main floor and upstairs in the bedrooms. The installers worked quickly. Initially the floors looked beautiful. By the 2nd year, some of the tiles started separating. Some tiles were chipping, some were splintering. We didnt understand this as Jeff said this is the best floor and will last 20 years. After researching we discovered our subfloors are not flat. So, the contractor would need to do prep work & level the subfloor before laying the tile. National Floor Covering did not level the surface before laying the tiles. Thats how they got the entire project done in two days. This also explains why the floors are separately, chipping & splintering througout my house. You would think that a flooring company that is in business over 30 years would know this. These floors cost us over $8,000 and they are ruined. In July 2025, we called the owner Jeff, who was not good at responding. He finally came out to the house to take a look. He acted baffled and said he had no idea why the floor did that. He said it must be "defective" tiles. I asked him could it be that the floor is not flat. He said no, as they are "floating" flooring thats made to adjust. Jeff said he would check with the manufacturer to see if it was still available. Well, he went MIA . I had to call & text him multiple times to get him to respond. Then he said he wanted to bring his installer over. That took forever as he was not responding to us. He came out with his installer. We set a date in late November 2025. Our heater broke and we were forced to cancel. It took alot to get it rescheduled for early January 2026. Then, we had a family medical emergency. We were forced to cancel again. Since then, Jeff has been unresponsive. Also- when Jeff came out & showed us samples, the samples were much thicker, probably double the thickness of the floor we received. We feel he did a bait & switch. It is now April 2026 and there has been no resolve to these horribly damaged floors. It is very clear good customer service is not a priority when problems arise. They are not an honest company. We have decided we dont trust a flooring company that has been in business 30 years, charged us $8000, and wont take accountability for the fact they gave us a cheap thin floor, and laid the flooring on a non flat surface causing all of it to separate, chip & splinter all through the house. They are very attentive until there's a problem. We have decided we would rather find a truly reputable company to install new flooring correctly. And this time we are more informed and know what questions to ask. Jeff is friendly, but dont be fooled. They do not install flooring properly, nor do they care to make sure they fix their mistakes. It cost me $8000, so buyer beware.

Easton Flooring - Carpet

Easton Flooring

Let me share an exceptionally odd experience with this company. I was visiting from out of town to…read moreassist an elderly relative with the installation of a French drain to address a basement water issue. That process meant destroying old vinyl sheet flooring in two locations. I called Easton Flooring and Steve came out the same day to look at the work. He measured, we spoke about materials, the work, and that I would need a plumber to remove and reinstall the toilet, washer, and dryer. Each area was small; on the order of 50-60 square feet, but given that it looks unsightly and is a trip hazard, it has to be done. One area had some carpet rolled back that needed to be stretched and anchored. We had a great discussion, and Steve told me to expect an emailed bid in a few days. Later that day, I received the bid; about $3,300 for about 100 square feet of glue down vinyl planks. I thought that seemed high, so the next day I visited the showroom and met with Juan; Steve was off as it was a Saturday. I explained to Juan that we needed to lower our price and I asked about a floating floor. We chose a color that they had in stock, and Juan indicated that this approach should bring the cost down to about $2,000, give or take. Much more affordable for the elderly relative who owns the home. I was excited as I got the impression that these folks would do a great job. I called to schedule the work, couldn't get in touch with Steve. I had already explained that I wanted to schedule the job out a few weeks so I could be there to help my relative and to clean afterward. Several calls went unanswered by Steve. Spoke with Juan a couple times; he said Steve was the only one who could schedule. Finally heard from Steve via email that the price would be about $2,800, not around $2,000, even with the less costly material. Oh well, I'm sure it's more work than I imagined, prep and all. But still, he wouldn't schedule the work. I emailed again and asked point blank if there was some reason he didn't want the job and his response was that I should get someone else; he was not going to do the job for us. I'm flummoxed. We had a great meeting with him and he never mentioned that he wouldn't want the work. Maybe it is too small, maybe he holds an unspoken prejudice, maybe I did something that rubbed him the wrong way. No matter what, I've never been treated so unprofessionally in any dealing with a tradesman. I wasn't sure how many stars to mark; they have a nice showroom, and they seemed like nice people, but this whole thing left me feeling discriminated against and left my relative with a dangerous trip hazard floor situation. I can't recommend them.

We also need a specific installation date which they were happy to accommodate. So refreshing to get great service! Hire them!

I've had several great experiences with Bell Flooring in Northern Liberties…read more Our townhome developer originally sourced the tile and flooring for our homes from them. When I needed to track down the exact tile used for a repair years later, their team took the time to dig through older records and help identify the brand so I could locate it. We also purchased tile from them for a fireplace project in our home and it turned out fantastic. Most recently, I stopped back in to identify the original flooring used in our house for another repair. Joe Bell and the team were incredibly helpful and were able to track it down for me. It's rare to find a business that is this willing to help years after the original purchase. Great people, great service, and a great local business to work with.

Bell Flooring really takes care of you when you walk into the showroom. They are so knowledgeable and are happy to help in any way possible. We bought the wood we needed and Bell flooring had no problem storing our wood and delivering it to our new home when it was time to lay the floors. Instead of having to be stuck with boxes and boxes of wood which we didn't have room for in our current home, they made it so easy for us. The floors came out amazing ! We highly recommend Joe flooring!
