We wanted to rip it all out and start over again. Their communication was top notch and the work came out great. They didn't nickel and dime me like some of the quotes included and were honest about everything they did. They answered all of my questions to my satisfaction, and even offered up some "tips/techniques" on some of the projects I might do myself around here. I'll definitely use these guys again.

I was worried they wouldn't take such a small job or they wouldn't take it seriously, but they truly did. They were very communicative and thoughtful throughout the whole process. We had an incredibly tight timeline between when we got the keys to our home and when we move and they got it done in that tight window. I really cannot say enough nice things about working with them. Hire them! You'll be glad you did!!

I honestly feel a bit bad leaving a 3-star review here because everyone I interacted with at Iron…read moreCastle Construction was genuinely kind, respectful, and responsible. On top of that, the quality of their work is fantastic. Among other great things about their work, they did a beautiful job matching the existing wood molding in our home with the new construction they did on our bathroom. Price-wise, they were right in the middle of the road compared to the other estimates I received. Where things fell short for me was communication. I know contractor-client dynamics can be tricky, but as the project progressed, it became increasingly unclear what the actual timeline or next steps were. The project ran longer than the original estimate, and I was never given updated, reliable estimates for completion. (Part of this was due to scheduling inspectors which had nothing to do with Iron Castle, but even factoring in the inspection wait time, the project went beyond the initial estimate.) Toward the end, communication broke down and workers would show up on days without prior notice, even after I explicitly asked to be kept in the loop on scheduling. That was stressful because we had our work to take care of. Big picture: Iron Castle does high-quality, beautiful work, and they are good people. But while I love the finished product, the process of getting there was not what I would have expected.

Owner Ken Schubert worked creatively with us and our design, streamlining materials and construction methods to capture the look we wanted at a price we felt good about. He took extra care in construction, picture-framing the decking, a detail I wish I'd thought to ask for and was overjoyed that he included. From inspiration photo to finished product, Iron Castle turned our lackluster, sagging brick porch into a wide, welcoming, beautiful entry. We're excited to tackle future projects together and recommend Iron Castle to everyone we know.

After talking to him and explaining my time limit and everything, he said he could do it so I hired him on the spot. Our projected start date was originally June 1st, but didn't start until June 12th due to change orders at other jobs they were busy with. Ryan was the lead on my project and they were a pleasure to work with. In the end we had a mishap with Lowes and a couple of things that Mike came out and fixed, but in the end we got our beautiful little bathroom remodel, I've referred Damian's info to a few people, and would definitely work with Damian, Ryan, Mike, and again.

We interviewed six contractors before selecting Joe McShane of McShane Construction to do the work. We could not possibly be happier with the outcome of this substantial project. Joe McShane is a man of his word. If he tells you that something is going to be done by a certain date, it will be. And it will be done with strict attention to every detail. Joe only works on one project at a time, and he devotes his complete and undivided attention to the matter at hand. He has a crew that can assist with demolition and other portions of a project, but he personally attends to all matters where the homeowner expects to see exquisite craftsmanship. In particular, Joe's ability to carefully lay out and install tile for bathroom shower walls, seats, and the bathroom floor is the best in the business. We were absolutely thrilled with the way both the master bath renovation and the finished basement turned out. We would not hesitate to use Joe again for any home construction or renovation project of any size. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found him for our project. Overall summary: Five stars. AAA+++. Very favorable experience. Highly recommended!
