Though I am not a resident of Hapeville, I am always in the area so I had to show up and support The park itself is absolutely beautiful. The city has made great use of the space as well as the landscaping is beautiful. The grass is green, the flowers around the fence are colorful and the park presents as a great recreational space as a whole. The National Night Out event was an abundance of family fun. As it kicked off at 4:00pm, it wasn't too hot and there was a nice breeze flowing through. There was a train ride for the kids, a dunking station, and ample games and vendors throughout the park. For the adults, the vendor options were ideal for those looking for employment, as well as those who love to support local and small businesses. Yes! There was something for everyone. As I arrived hungry, (don't judge me), I was excited to see the assortment of food trucks that were in the parking lot. This was truly the perfect makings for a great family day in the park. As a whole, I will definitely be returning to Jess Lucas Y-Teen Park as the ambiance is perfect for a me day with lunch and a good book or even to do a few laps around the track as 6 Laps = 1 Mile according to the sign. It was busy on a Tuesday morning around 8:45 am when my son and I stood in line for his learner's…read morepermit written test. Line was 20 people outside the door of the location and it took about 30 min to get to the front. There is security who directs the line, and a staff member who makes sure you have all needed documents before you can get a ticket. Save yourself time by filling out an application online which will have a 10 digit code. There are eight computers available if you forgot to print one of the four documents I needed I to print my son's school schedule to show school enrollment. Unfortunately it did not print as a pdf so my son had to reprint it after he took his written test. By the time we got to front of line and showed our documents, it was time to stand in line for our ticket number. Son took an eye exam and he says the lights were not working. He was able to take the written test on the computer and then we waited our turn to get his permit. And waited. And waited. Make sure you check back in with the counter after you finish your test. Otherwise you will wait forever. Parking is super easy at South DeKalb Mall and I would suggest not coming on a Tuesday before 1030 am due to longer waits. They accept credit cards and Apple Pay and Google pay for the $10 fee for permit. Staff is polite and friendly for the high volume of customers they serve. Two hours for our visit! Glad I brought my patience today.

Keyon was the representative that I spoke with concerning my "case." He was EXTREMELY nice and VERY professional!!! Before we began, Keyon stated that he had studied my case and found that my original application had been denied for the WRONG reason and as such, he would have to pull my record from the archives to update/correct in order to complete my case. And as a result, he said that it would take some time to retrieve the archived files and that he would call back when he got to work the next morning. A man of his word, Keyon called back around 8:30am and walked me through my case. He was VERY meticulous, helpful and professional!!!
