Upon receiving the cards I didn't know what to do. A quick Google search showed me that the cards were first edition and some of the holograms were worth a bit of money. The cards looked to be in good shaped kept in a trapper keeper binder in plastic pages. I brought them in Torpedo and was blown away with the help I received. First I was told the cards could be worth upwards of $12,000! Second that I should get the cards graded and put into thick plastic cases instead of the notebook sleeves. My favorite card was a puffy marshmellowy creature named Clefable but that card isn't worth very much. The knowledge and information shared with me here really made my day. When an employee is so kind and passionate and knowing about what they are looking at is a dream come true. I have sent the cards into get graded and am awaiting a final apprasial. I hope to sell the cards to possibly buy my grandmother a new set of LaZyBoy recliner chairs. One for her and one for her pooch, Shadow :) I also bought a TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) comic book. Loved this store could spend hours browsing. I will be back. Thank you Torpedo!

We enjoyed The Appetizer for years when it was on Deep Valley Drive in Rolling Hills Estates and…read morewere craving some good off-hill pizza. Called in an order instead of ordering online because we wanted a half and half large pizza. Would have been helpful to be able to order half and half online because I just knew the fellow on the phone was going to screw up the order even after I repeated the order twice and he repeated it after me. Come on. I ordered a half Appetizer Special (pepperoni, crumbled sausage, salami, meatball, mushroom, black olive, bell peppers, onion) and half pepperoni, jalapeno, pineapple (our go-to).. What we got for our $34 pizza was half Appetizer Special and half pepperoni, crumbled sausage and jalapeno. Man, we were really craving our Pepperoni, jalapeno, pineapple. The toppings on the Appetizer Special were plentiful as was the sausage (we didn't order) on the other half. Probably the only reason I added a star. But the pizza really fell short and was nothing like we remembered. I am a pizza snob and while the Appetizer was definitely in the running for a good, solid pizza with a good, chewy and tasty crust in the past, that pizza, sadly, is long gone today. I even called to speak to a manager or the owner about the screwed up order and was told he would call me. He never did. We also ordered the Antipasto Salad which was decent. The marinated mushrooms and artichokes ARE still very good. I thought the Italian dressing was missing but it was shoved in the corner under a bunch of lettuce and after two helpings, we still didn't see it so I had mentioned that to the worker on the phone as well. I do hate how they do that at places to skimp out on adding more ingredients to the salad. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend The Appetizer any more for all of these reasons.

Claro's is the Real Deal for submarine sandwiches I usually get 2 when I'm there. I get the pre-made ones out of the refrigerated showcase they have different kinds so you just have to look at the sandwich and decide what's best for you. Oh don't forget that Claro's is closed on Wednesday open for 6 days out of the week.

Especially, I love the cannoli, Italian sandwiches made fresh to order with sliced meats and cheeses, and the fun little ingredients sprinkled throughout the market. coming here as a kid, I used to love how they had straw on the ground. The big old hunk of cheese hanging from the ceiling. The smells, the sites, and the friendly faces I'd see, offering me treats. I feel like the best cannoli I've ever had is here. I've been all over for cannolis, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, etc. but no one really does it like they do it here! The ricotta is creamy with chocolate chips and candied fruit, and the edges are lined with nuts . Sprinkled with a perfect amount of powdered sugar, it's so delightful with the crunchy shell. My dad likes to order the sfogtitelle, pronounced soy uh della. Kind of funny spelling, huh? It's a pastry layered with semolina flour (aka pasta flour) and stuffed with a citrus cream custard. That's good here as well, they also sell it frozen so you can bake it at home. Always a must to grab a sandwich here. They cut the deli meat and cheese right in front of you. There's a wide selection of meats and cheeses to choose from. If you like more of the spicy stuff, I would suggest salami's like the hot Calabrese, hot soppresata, and chorizo. The Italian ham is good as well, mortadella and capacolo. I always also have Cajun turkey in the sandwich. Lots of good cheeses to choose from, Havarti is nice and creamy, provolone has a nice tangy taste, pepper Jack has a little kick, and Swiss a funny little taste. They let you sample the meats and cheeses so you can figure it out for yourself too haha. Always pay extra for the roasted red peppers in the sandwich, it's worth it trust me. me and my friends also love to get the deli meats and cheeses for a charcuterie boards. It's a good deal, cheaper than what you would pay in a market for incredibly fresh meat. They sometimes even give you an airtight container to keep it super fresh. Grocery shopping here for specialty items is great as well. In the freezer section, they have an incredible fresh pesto, but they also have a lot of canned sauces as well. The blood orange juice is nice. My family always gets the Italian sausages by the pound in the big old bag to make sausages with tomato sauce. I've been going here since I was a kid, and I'm happy to see it still thriving. There is truly no other place like this in the San Gabriel Valley, I wish I still lived close to here, but I guess it makes it even more special when I'm around.
