The technology they employ -- launch monitor (with all the data you could want: spin rate, launch angle, club head speed,, approach angle, etc.), and video (front and down the line with real time measurements of all relevant body angles) -- is so helpful in translating feel to what you're actually doing in the swing. And Jack is expert in focusing lessons to take you through a process that produces your best swing. My index went from 13 to 8 in the 6-7 months I've been working with Jack, and I think I can get to 5 (or better) with some work on my putting. I compress the ball better and hit more greens. Looked around for some options as I needed clubs and didn't want to ingrain bad habits from a very rusty swing. Found Golftec, and while some of the online forums had mixed reviews (like all forums tend to have), the Santa Monica location is very close to my house, and I figured I'd go for the club fitting (if you do it there and buy the clubs through them, the fitting is free) and see how I liked it. Got Justin for my fitting, and he was friendly and laid back. I hit a number of balls (mostly poorly), and the video and tracking data gave real information to work on. And the video illustrated to me what parts of my swing had gone awry - some of which were not quite right to begin with. We worked through a number of different head and shaft combinations, and found what worked for me and my goals (which is *not* what I was originally looking at in a local shop). Ordered up the clubs, then emailed later asking about prices for lesson packages. Justin got back to me quickly and I ended up going for a package that included another fitting (for woods), unlimited practice bay time and a chunk of lessons. At the first lesson you strap on the sensors and get a full analysis of your swing. Some argue that their tech is old. Yes, there might be some more advanced algorithms, but frankly there are a lot of people who obsess over data and seem to forget that the point of golf is hitting balls, not hitting numbers. The setup gives you what you need, and Justin quickly identified some fundamental things to change at setup and takeaway. As I hit more balls with those changes, it felt odd at first, but I was starting to hit much more consistent shots. Significantly better than at my fitting. Looking forward to more progress over the months to come. The annotated video from my lesson is available online so I have reference to work from. Gives you an easy way to track what you're working on and progress. When you use the practice bay in between lessons, you can use the video to check positions. Certainly more efficient than when I was first learning and you were pretty much on your own at the range. Expect some plateaus and frustrations - such is the game. But have no problem recommending Golftec to most players.

I have been golfing casually for a few years but never took the game too seriously up until a few…read moremonths ago when I reached out to Casey. For years I had a nasty slice that would pull my ball roughly 40 yards which Casey was able to fix within one or two lessons. As our lessons progressed, I began hitting all of my shots straighter with better accuracy and gained a significant amount of distance on all my clubs. This led to me immediately scoring lower and making the game more fun as I went from a 30+ handicap to shooting in the 80s. Casey was patient with me during every lesson and always gave me something to work on or try when I would practice by myself. For someone that was a beginner like me, he kept things simple and gave me little things to think about that eventually led to my swing dramatically changing and improving.
