Urban Eats is home to several different restaurants and cuisine under one roof. Great concept and collaborative business model. Sort of like a mini food court at a mall, but much better. You order at the counter of your choice, and they bring the food to you. We went with the Greek station and all was good, except my burger. I had requested well done, and it was medium at best. Proprietor came by to check on us, and offered to remake it; but we were on a time crunch and couldn't wait. He insisted on refunding the meal, which was much appreciated. Fries, salad, and spanakopita were excellent. A lovely lady, I believe her name was Sonya was busy cleaning and refreshing tables.

This review will be more specific to "Beignet All Day". To start, I never knew Urban Eats existed (I've definitely been living under a rock!). It is such a cute mini food hall that I will definitely be visiting again. "Beignet All Day" was located down a short hall nearer to the back of the facility. Julie - the owner's sister - was super helpful with our decision making. They had a variety of beignets with topping options, served in batches of three. The prices were definitely reasonable for the portion. Served fresh and with a smile. I will definitely be back!

Small cafe with a tiny menu (only about 2 items for breakfast and ~5 for lunch), a bar, and a work space that you can rent out. The inside is incredibly bare, with just 4 tables and a couch. I got their breakfast wrap with bacon and a strawberry-banana smoothie, and both were pretty tasty. The best was the sauce that came with the wrap. It was delicious. Although the food was great, I don't see mud self coming here again because of the environment. If they can update the space however, this place would be a gem

Just go ahead and bring your second belly. There are four places inside here as of now. A taco place, Jamaican, dessert and I forgot the other one. The service is very good! Everyone is super nice. This place is pretty far from my house but I would make the extra trip because I know I won't be disappointed! Do yourself a favor and just go!

This is such a cute and inviting cafe located in the Dutchtown neighborhood of St Louis! I came here with girlfriends for one of their sponsored art brunch Sundays. For these events they have local artists at the location selling and displaying their art work. This was a really nice twist to the regular cafe vibe and I enjoyed looking at the different pieces on display. For the art brunch Sunday Urban Eats was offering a number of small bites. For ordering you either help yourself to the buffet options or choose from their carts when they come around. You are given a sheet to mark off when you get a new item and then bring it to the register when you are done. I went with the self serve coffee, Thai noddle salad, boa pork bun, and bread pudding. The Thai noddles were covered in a sauce that was both sweet and tangy then topped with sesame seeds and green onions. The boa bun was of course my favorite! It was warm and fluffy, filled with tender pork. The bread pudding was good but could have used some sauce drizzled on top. Overall Urban Eats is a really nice spot to grab brunch or just come relax with a cup of coffee.

The combinations at this place are endless. So many gluten free options as well. I was avoiding dairy when I went here the other day, but craving a cappuccino, so the girl at the counter suggested I substitute almond milk. So good, I'll never go back to regular milk in my coffee! The Asian salmon bowl was also delicious. Super reasonable prices as well. I'm dying to try their dim sum style brunch, but turns out it isn't every Sunday, so I'll have to wait.

Decided to try a second time, a different meal, and I really enjoyed it! I ordered a Asian salmon rice bowl to-go with a cappuccino (yes, I know it's a weird combo but me needed caffeine and dairy). The food was fresh & the flavors on par with some of the best comfort food I've ever eaten. Two things gets Urban Eats 4/5 stars (I really want to give full stars, it's a super fun space & the food is good!) but alas. For to-go, I waited twenty minutes for the bowl and another five for my capp. Not terrible but since I was one of four people getting food (and three had already been served), the wait felt almost awkward. The girl at the counter was super kind though! Secondly, in the photo you'll notice a scribbled bubble- that was the salmon. It was a wee wee bit of salmon. That made me sad. But it tasted yummy! Pros: great flavor, fresh & healthy meal. Fun, light & artsy space. Friendly & inviting staff. My meal was less than $13!

Urban Eats lives in a great great space for lunches, meetings and group get togethers. It is very bright and open with lots of different seating areas. The one thing that would make this a great destination for me and probably lots of others would be free wifi. They might have it but when I was there today I didn't see anything pop up on my phone to connect to.. I got the Italian veggie wrap, and it was really good! The main ingrediant was eggplant which could have easily turned out horribly, but the consistency and taste was just right. I tried to save half of it for dinner but I couldn't help myself. I also got a side of zesty lemon chicken and rice soup which is even better, but I'm saving that for dinner. The chicken in it is very good quality. I'm interested in coming back to try the smoothies, maybe even get a boozie and maybe come back another time for some coffee drinks. They also have happy hour prices on craft beers and appetizers (which also sound unique and yummy). That said, wifi would make it much easier to come back to! **If you live within biking distance, it's a super cute location to ride to and get a treat and visit some of the other shops and businesses nearby! Oh, that makes me think of a list I could make :)

Décor: It's nice and spacious, although some parts are just oddly put together (the sections don't flow altogether, in my opinion). But once you sit down and enjoy your company, it doesn't matter so much. Service: Quite good, quite casual. Food: I got the Mediterranean Salmon as a Panini- I didn't think it was really worth it. It was alright, but not anything I'd come back for. My friend also thought his sandwich was okay. For dessert, we got the bread pudding and I was quite disappointed by it. It didn't even taste good and the texture was off. And it was expensive for the portion size! Overall: I don't find this place to be of excellent value, and this place is really far from me, so I wouldn't really be coming back.

OK so I was trekking on my hot rod 2 wheeler (Schwinn) the other day and found myself out of steam in not the best 'hood as far as stopping on the sidewalk/street whilst alone. I spotted this cozy corner rest area and parked it. Good idea, Al....why - thank you! First - the set up is pretty rad. Plenty of space and types of seating to cater to your butt needs. Local artwork on the walls that you can actually purchase if you so desire. Electrical outlets for your technology needs and in my case...battery vampire phone. I also am going to go out on a limb and assume they have Wifi. I needed protein and got an overdose. They have two of my all-time favorite things on the menu - a peanut butter & banana smoothie w/soy AND bacon wrapped dates..Wha-what? Now before I get ahead of myself - I opted out on the dates that day, but I will surely be back to give them a go in the near future. I actually ordered the cheese quesadilla because I was looking for protein in a snack-based form. It was quite delish, cheesy, and took care of my dietary needs. The sauce was zingy as well - a nice additive if you choose to dip those tips. I also enjoyed a delightful iced latte with espresso (added) and caramel, which certainly recharged my energy cells. The peeps...they were so very informative and helpful. I had a chat with a nice gal about the big biking event going down in Dutchtown in May and a brief history of past events - MoPro...look it up and enjoy. The sweet gal that actually took my order was very helpful considering I had never dined at Urban before and had no clue what to order. She actually hand made my super awesome PB & banana smoothie. I felt the love. She also informed me of their Sunday Brunch - dim sum style, which I was very intrigued by and intend to experience in the near future. Always looking for new and exciting brunch adventures on the weekends. Overall - I really dig this place. I intend on coming back so I can explore there other dining options AND get some of those bacon wrapped dates....and another PB & banana smoothie, of course!

Wanted to eat something light, so decided to drop in at this shop we just happened to pass by. The lady fixing my chicken wrap was friendly and the place reminded me of a dinner slash chic sandwich shop. Oh boy was I amazed when I starting eating my food. I let my boyfriend taste but I was not willing to share because it was that good. Even went back Monday but they were closed.
I am so happy we stopped in today. It's like a mini city foundry but here in Dutch Town! You have so much to pick & choose from, egg rolls to baklava, to quesabarrias!! I loved it all! & you know I definitely tried something from each place... Very open inside with great seating for small groups or large groups! Everyone was great & brought out the food so quick & hot. I loved it. What a great food hall - Tacos La Jefa, All Rolled Up, Mr. Souvlaki, & Wheelhosue Fish Co Check it out. read more
I just want to say thank you to Urban Eats! In my case, this is hope in a shrimp bowl and grilled cheese. This little shared kitchen is the cutest thing in Dutchtown. I have so high hopes for these restaurant opening dreamers! This spot is part cafe, part startup incubator, all good vibes. You feel the hunger of success when you walk in. Pun intended! It's proof that if you give chefs a chance and a stovetop, magic happens. Support places like this or stop pretending you care about "local." On my recent visit, I checked out the grilled cheese from Skeeter's Deli and the shrimp bowl from Herbachi! Both chef's kiss! read more

GOLD STAR GOURMET WAS THE BEST. The homemade jam was delicious. The grits were savory. Good eats all the way around.

First visit. Disappointed "No Crepes" Beignet pretty doughy. Glad I went to try it. Likely won't go that far from home for crepes.

I'm not sure how I had not been to Urban Eats before Friday, but it's my new favorite secret in STL. A friend and I stopped by because another friend was displaying his photography here. Because UE wasn't busy, we decided to eat a quick dinner here before I had to book it south to host karaoke. The joint is adorable - part diner, part hippie enclave. Flower pens are *everywhere*. The lovely woman behind the counter explained the ordering process, as we hadn't visited before. Choose a flavor style, a filler (meat, veggies, etc) and a presentation (wrap, bowl, etc). Then add your extras like smoothies or dessert, and pay at the counter. Have a seat, and the staff will bring your order to you. I chose the Mediterranean (lemon pepper) style mushrooms and other vegetables over brown rice. I also had a strawberry banana smoothie. My friend had a similar order, except he had meat. I fell in love with my dish! The lemon pepper was wonderful and perfect, and it tasted great on the veggies. This wasn't crap from a premade seasonings packet! And there were a TON of vegetables, especially mushrooms. It was all over rice and topped with a black olive sauce that didn't scream "HEY! I'M MADE OF BLACK OLIVES!" The bowl was fairly large, and had I been going home instead of to karaoke, I might have taken some home. As it was, I was happy to eat every grain of rice despite being so full. Gluttony? Maybe. But still delicious. The strawberry banana smoothie was pretty good. I'm not a fan of bananas, but my body was screaming for potassium, so I gave in. It was made from real fruit and presented with a cute design made from puree on the side of the cup. We paid about $22 for two dinners and two smoothies, more than reasonable for the amount, quality and freshness of the food we got. UE has a Yelp checkin special, too. I'll be back for sure! read more

OMG I loved this place! Reasonable! Tasty! Fresh foods! *thinking of more adjectives* Friendly staff! Plenty of choices! Cool artsy atmosphere! And the location has a lot of thrifty type stores nearby (if that's your thing)...so you can eat, then walk the street and shop! read more
This may be one of my new favorite places. Food is excellent. I had a bacon and pepperoni flatbread pizza with a side of roasted sweet 'taters. Yum! My crew got Southwestern Chicken Wraps (which we were told is one of their most popular items). I understand why. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is great. Want to check out local art? It's on display as well. read more
Love Love Love this place! I wish I lived closer so I could et there more often. I randomly found this place on yelp while looking for a lunch spot that day. I do love the decor and would very much enjoy just getting a cup of hot tea and relaxing there. Love the way the menu is set up! You pick the spices first, then the meat, then the style. This could lead to millions of options and such a small un-intimidating menu! I also hate trying new places by myself, so I just came right out with it and told the cashier that I had never been there before and she was SO nice! Loved her! Can't wait to go back! read more
Found this little gem by mistake. SO glad I did! Retro-ish decor. VERY clean. lots of local artwork arranged throughout. FULL bar. The coffees are high quality (on par with the name brand coffee chains). Healthy menu selections offset the GOOEY BUTTER CAKE or BREAD PUDDING desserts! YUMMMMM!! I couldn't believe how reasonable the prices are (lass than $20 for two wraps, plus two desserts and a medium mocha). You can't beat that! And the portion sizes are very filling, so you get your money's worth! Even the music in the background is cool. The staff is very friendly and helpful to first timers! Make sure to sign up for their "frequent diner rewards"! I went two days in a row. I plan to make it my regular spot! Kids are welcome but they must be kept in line - otherwise the staff will give them an espresso AND a puppy! LOL read more
Great place to wind down, relax, chill, you get the idea! Its recommended for those who love art and reading, as UE has plenty of space to do that. They are good at holding events there, and its a cool place to hold small meetings. Their sandwiches and baked goods are great, as well as their smoothies. They also have a decent craft beer selection as well. Only bad thing is the parking, well sometimes. I could say the same thing for most other nearby places. Check out this place next time you're in Dutchtown! read more

The catered boxed lunch is incredible. I had the chicken wrap - absolutely fresh and flavorful, as was the Asian slaw. I'm glad I gave in and ate the cream cheese brownie, possibly the best brownie I've ever had! I ate here for the first time today. I can't really lie. If you sell gooey buttercake, I will love you. Urban Eats sells gooey buttercake. I love Urban Eats. It's a pretty simple equation. There are more reasons to like Urban Eats other than that though! They have a salad there that is so good, I think I may have actually drooled into it. It's a summer salad, with candied walnuts, cranberries, goat cheese and this delicious sweet vinaigrette. They have a menu that while small, caters to whatever you're in the mood for. They have COCKTAILS!! Huge plus. They have cozy seating with couches, and intimate small tables. The employees are pretty knowledgeable. Also, great location. The only con I can think of is that there is no soda fountain. Maybe I've been raised as a greedy American who loves refills, but if I eat something salty, 12 ounces of soda might not do it for me. Even if the refill isn't free, sometimes a girl needs to refill her cup! Urban Eats, please get a fountain, please please please? I think this is the perfect place to go for the following situations: 1. Coffee first date. Don't do dinner and a movie if it's a first date. Go to a place like Urban Eats and split a Quesadilla, and have a coffee or a cocktail. If the date's awful, at least you had a yummy nosh and you didn't waste your entire evening. 2. Catching up with an old friend over lunch. 3. Finding out your upstairs neighbor has a drumset and the only way you know how to cope is with sugar. Urban Eats can give you a sugar fix that will make you not hate your neighbor for at least three hours. read more

Awkward. Just all of it. The whole place, it's awkward. They're like, "Ok, we're gonna do everything all natural, so don't worry about the flavor." Bam. There's their restaurant. I do appreciate them being all natural. But I definitely noticed some of the brands of things behind the bar. They were from Sam's Club. Say What?! read more

We stopped in today for lunch and I'm so glad I did. Wonderful little gem which is in the Dutchtown neighborhood. I ordered the chicken panini and, my friend had the flat bread pizza. Add me to the list of people who love this place. Our meetup group has a monthly event hosted here and it is hands-down my favorite venue. Great food and a wonderful atmosphere combine for a perfect place to meet friends. The menu allows for very flexible ordering. Pick your particular style (wrap, flatbread pizza, etc.), your main ingredient (I suggest vegetarian), and your flavor (Italian, Greek, etc). For $2 more add a drink and small side or a larger side and drink for only $3 more. The sesame ginger noodles make a wonderful side. read more

I have to admit that I love Urban Eats. I live nearby, and I would love them if only for the fact they are a reputable coffee shop with wifi and good caffeinated beverages within walking distance. Now, why not five stars? It's nothing to do with service, which is phenomenal, nor with atmosphere which is cozy. The simple fact is, Urban Eats is still getting it's feet. As another reviewer mentioned much of what they have is pre-packaged and processed (unless you get an actual meal). And the fact that they don't seem totally sure how to set up the back area of a cafe/bakery can often lead to slower service. That said, I will never stop going there and I do love everything they serve (even the pre-packaged stuff). I do believe they will come blooming into their own as they settle in and adjust. read more

I love it that I can get a boozey drink with my vegan sandwich while my boyfriend can get a fancy coffee made with Half-n-Half to go with his meat-on-meat bagel. Atmosphere is great! Neighborhood is a great mix of gritty city and old neighborhood charm. I LOVE this place. NEarly a month later, I went back for a different vegan combo. The last one was an Italian veggie/mushroom/Smoked tofu panini. The recent combo was a mediteranean eggplant caponade and mushroom pizza. To...DIE...for! The lady behind the counter was super nice, my boyfriend loved his meat, meat and cheese bagel again and we shopped at the cool antique store across the street. Also, it's only a half block away from Maude's Market which is a cool place to find local delicacies. read more

This is going to be a weird circuitous review. Stay with me. Also, I realize I'm going way against the grain with the lack o' stars, but everyone else seemed to have real food. This review is for the coffeeshop crowd. So I see on my favorite website stlmealdeals.blogspot.com that Urban Eats is offering free hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate sauce on this extremely cold day. There's nothing better than hot cocoa on a blustery day. Except free hot cocoa. 5 stars The woman working at the counter was super nice. 5 stars But, service was really really slow. 4 stars Not wanting to be that person that just gets the free thing, I added a cookie onto my order. As she goes in back to get the hot chocolate she tells me to grab one off the shelf. Hmm...I don't remember seeing saran wrapped homemade cookies mixed in with the chip bags. Oh. Oh no. It can't be. Really?? Grandma's packaged processed cookies. Like out of a vending machine. 2 stars. I just can't do it. I read the list of ingredients trying to convince myself. But no. Even though I've already paid, my new year's resolution was no processed food and it's only like a week in. There was no way I was wasting my precious calories on vending machine cookies while at a cafe and *ahem* bakery. Scanning the menu, I inquire about the gooey butter cake. She says it comes from a company. Still 2 stars. Is that company perchance Park Avenue Coffee? I ask hopefully. She goes into the back to check. Haas. Well, at least it's local. 3 stars. There is a $1.50 price difference between the cookie I ordered and the gooey butter cake. She doesn't make me pay the difference. 4 stars. The hot chocolate was pretty good. I guess. Like the kind you get at the ice skating rink. And no whipped cream or chocolate sauce. 3 stars. The gooey butter cake was the dreaded gooey butter danish. But, that's really Haas' fault, not Urban Eats. So, there we have it. A 3 star experience with a few ups and downs along the way. It is a cute place and the real food did look good, but the place calls itself a cafe and BAKERY. Meaning one can expect homemade goodies, or at the very least, goodies that look homemade. The cookie situation was a major disappointment. I suggest Urban Eats takes the money it's paying Grandma's and invest in some tubs of Pillsbury dough. read more
The menu motto here is: "A Few Simple Things, Endless Possibilities." This works pretty well for lunch, when you may: 1.) choose your flavor (certain combinations of sauces and cheeses), 2.) choose your main ingredient (meats or vegan), 3.) choose your style (the carb your other stuff packs or tops) 4.) make mine a combo (various "yummy" sides and drinks). My Asian Chicken Panini Yummy Combo (the side being a bag of Sun Chips) was good, and the coffee was very good. There's plenty of glass facing east and south, so on a sunny day, you notice just how clean and well put together the interior is. The service was pleasant, and the price fair. read more

This place is as good as the other Yelpers make it out to be. No, really. It is. I went here for an early 11AM lunch on a Saturday. I wanted to beat the lunch rush, and it looks like I did. Aside from a few girls headed to a wedding, I was the only one there. The inside is SO cute. Tables and chairs everywhere; even a sofa to relax on if you so desire! Free wifi. Lots of newspapers and magazines. Outdoor seating. I even noticed free doggie treats for your furry friends! I felt completely at home here. And the service! SO friendly, from the moment I walked in the door. They made me feel like I was doing THEM a favor by walking in their little shop. Yes, it's that kinda place. LOVE LOVE LOVE the service. Super sweet, helpful, and friendly. You don't get that often nowadays. Anyway, the food. I ordered a southwestern chicken panini on 5-grain bread. It was absolutely delicious! Fresh chicken, baby spinach, cheese, tomatoes, chipotle sauce, bacon...OMG. Wonderful. I am a sucker for bread pudding, so when i saw it on the menu, I had to order that as well. It wasn't the best bread pudding I've had in my life, to be honest. But it was a good effort. And they served it piping hot, so that was a plus. I took my food to-go, so I didn't get to fully enjoy all that Urban Eats had to offer in the way of atmosphere. But I will DEFINITELY be back. They have a vast array of yummy smoothies and boozies (smoothies with booze!) as well as an impressive lineup of local beers from smaller breweries. Yum. 5 stars all the way. If you haven't visited this little gem of a place, do it. NOW. Did I mention that the food really is cheap? You can get delicious food at a really reasonable price. So seriously. Stop what you're doing RIGHT NOW, and go. read more

I have eaten here on many occasions, and I generally get the breakfast wrap (super tasty). You can get it with turkey sausage and / or bacon. I frequently opt for both. I also greatly enjoy the smoothies here, and my go-to choice is strawberry-banana (add cinnamon). It may take a little while to cook/prep the food, so be aware of this if it's busy, but it's usually worth the wait. I live in the neighborhood, so this is a great spot for me to go for a bite for brunch. Be mindful of their hours of operation, as they vary (they are closed Monday). Also know there is a yelp deal where you can get an Italian soda free with check-in. The people working are very nice and attentive. read more

Delicious BBQ pork Bao, strawberry-banana smoothies and a lovely staff! This little cafe/restaurant was pretty quiet but had eccentric decorations. Our food and drinks were served quickly! Only issue is that they had a space that seemed oriented towards bigger group meetings, but surprisingly little seating! read more

Bright and cheery with great sandwiches. I had a portabello wrap. Very tasty. Actually, I had half a portabello wrap since it was nice and filling. As good as the food is the vibe. This is a happening place helping to to make Dutchtown a happening neighborhood. Urban Eats has art for sale, books about the neighborhood for sale, and locally-made crafts for sale. And the entrance has a great bookcase with lots of fliers about local events. read more

We had my daughter's John Burroughs School graduation party here the day after Thanksgiving when all of her friends were home for the 1st time since going off to college. This was planned only 1 week in advance. There were about 45-50 people attending. Working with Caya, on short notice, was a delight and very easy! Everyone raved about the food. A majority of the attendees were vegetarian/vegan and the selection, was substantial and delicious. I was allowed to bring my own cake, my daughter's favorite. The employees working the event were a joy and helpful without being intrusive. The space allowed parents, who missed seeing one another as well, to hang together and chat while also being able to enjoy our children being together. Families could relax a day after Tgiving and play games and talk over on the couches. The availability of Pandora/IPOD music made background entertainment simple and with personal preferences included. The opportunity for a charitable donation to the school scholarship fund was a bonus. We had a cash bar that met our needs. A few UE regulars stopped by and walked in at the beginning - not realizing it was a private party. Caya invited them back at another time. All in all a wonderful experience even with last minute planning. read more
Urban Eats is a comfortable coffee house and cafe located on Meramec (just east of Grand) in the Dutchtown neighborhood. They are just a wee bit off the beaten track, but worth the trip. They have fresh fast food at extraordinarily low prices. You have the option of choosing from a fresh array of toppings on flatbread, panini, or wrap. They also have salads, quiche, coffees, soups & smoothies. I had a delicious chicken panini and is was only $4.65 with tax. They have wi-fi and comfy sofas, as well as, a hi-top counter with stools (for those of us who are dining solo). They also have a free conference room with wi-fi that can be reserved online. Give this one a try! read more

We really enjoyed having our wedding rehearsal dinner at Urban Eats cafe. It offered a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that allowed us to mix and mingle with our guests. Caya ran with our idea for an Asian food theme and created a delicious Thai-inspired menu and a green tea cocktail. The space was simply but beautifully decorated, and the background music Caya chose was great! The staff were very professional and courteous. We loved using our wedding rehearsal dinner as an opportunity to support a great local St. Louis business. read more

I LOVE Urban Eats! This place is everything a restaurant should be- the atmosphere is warm and inviting, has lots of natural light and best of all, showcases local artists. The food is wonderful! Everything they serve is fresh, healthy, and delicious. I think I could live off the Asian slaw! If that's not your thing, go with one of their flatbreads, lots of options and they are all wonderful!!! read more

Very nice place to enjoy a coffee and conversation with local friends. I meet up with some girlfriends occasionally and we are never disappointed. It's not too loud we can't hear each other, but not too quiet as to be announcing our conversation to the entire place. read more
