Kimberly was very nice and made sure I was comfortable at all my appointments. They have wonderful assistance and now I'm excited for all my appointments.

They never scheduled a final appointment for me before my move, even though I told them I was leaving and needed to finish my treatment. I had to find another dentist to remove my aligners, and he showed me that one of my teeth was still crooked after I paid around $5,000. 2. When they did X-rays and a cleaning, no one clearly explained there would be extra charges for the images. The final bill was higher than I expected and did not feel transparent. 3. The dentist told me I needed a crown and that I had many cavities. A second opinion from another dentist confirmed that I did not need a crown and that I did not have all those cavities. Because of this, I do not recommend this office. In my opinion, the treatment planning, pricing transparency, and accuracy of the diagnosis were very disappointing.

To say they flowed like water, moved like an oiled machine, sang in harmony......believe,..these are all undersatetments. Kitty Haawk Smiles Dentristy in University Height, has me as a client for life. Saying they saved me is the truth. I am highly suceptible to infection. I have just managed to live through one that hit November 2024 along my spine and in my arms. This infection being so bad, it nearly took my life. Over 3 months of intravenous antibiotics, months of in home rehab. and I still cannot walk straight up and down(hunchback) but alive. In fact, pulling through percentage wise was not above 20%. The wonderful Dr's, Nurses and many medical teams at Stone Oak pulled me through. These are the bad types of infections. When you hear the word Mersa, yeah, that's the bad kind. Yet I was blessed and they were skilled. I have to be so very careful in everything I do. However infections I come by very easily unfortunately. Well as fate would have it, I just got out of the hospital on Topperwein yesterday spending a 3 day ordeal with an abssys molar. As I said, the first people I spoke with and told my plight, were the ladies at the front desk. I know they could tell I was scared, and I was. The ordeals I had gone throught. I was told by Topperwein Hospital get tooth wextracted immediately upon discharge. And damn straight that was my intent. So filled upon on 2 different types of antibiotics, one type which I constantly stay on because I get infection so easy, I set out to get an oral surgeon that could accommodate and extract the same day that took my insurance. NOT AN EASY TASK. I like to think by blessings again after hours of searching, along came Kitty Hawk Smile Dentistry and Orthodontics. They werent just experienced, knowledgeable, but they treated me as if I had been their patient for many many years and from the 1st person to the last, they all knew my case and issues as if they HAD truly known me for years. I was told what my options were, which they thought were the best options and why, and free to make up my own mind as to which route to take. All put me at ease and I cried because I knew this was all going to be in the past in a mattter of a couple of hours. I was totally floored. What person says they had a great time at the dentist. This very blessed and thankful 59 year old lady does. My brother told me I had an extra head growing out of my chin. You know that joke,.....Does your face hurt,,,,,,Well it hurts me. That was me. I thank the whole Team for taking care of me. From the Front desk,, to being able to sit with Jaimie M. and go over my options, she made my choices quick and easy. Especially, Christina Derosa for initially consulting over my issues and for actually getting to enjoy for the first time ANY visit to the "mouth" doctor. However, Dr. S. Atkins I sit here tonight and feel what nice work was done, how comfortable I feel tonight. No huge gaping hole, no pain to speak of really, (but yesI am taking the meds you prescribed), its like you took my meessed up mouth, fixed it and then dressed it up nicely for ease and comfort, but for making me get my courage back and pushing me just a little further in reminding me it was ALL about ME and MY comfort, also I cant forget the ladies that assisted Dr. Atkins, my pain matters, as does honesty. I got the straight forward version with smiles. Just how I like it. And I know you all think this is complete BS and overkill, but I dont give a damn. I am straight up, I am blessed I chose that number to dial after dialing out of service numbers, dropped numbers, no oral surgeons serving on the team for 3 hours and calling my insurance 5 times. We had a mixed experience at Kitty Hawk Smiles Dentistry…read more Unfortunately, my visit started off poorly due to the front office manager, Nikki. She came across as very rude and unwelcoming. She frequently talked over me and cut me off before I could finish my questions or receive clear answers. That kind of interaction is frustrating and not what you expect from someone running the front office of a dental practice. There was also a communication issue during the appointment. The hygienist was not informed that I was receiving orthodontic treatment, so the cleaning was started without removing the braces first, which should have been addressed beforehand. That said, the back office staff was great. The hygienist was very informative and took time to educate me on proper care and how often certain treatments should be done. The doctor and orthodontic staff were also excellent--professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Overall, the clinical care itself was solid, but the front office experience and communication need improvement, as they set the tone for the entire visit.

I called in to schedule an appointment in the mid-May, and I told them very clearly I have Tricare dental and asked them if they accept Tricare. They said yes they do accept Tricare and then set up my appointment on June 22. I showed up and checked in, then the front desk asked me to pay $100 copay, I told them Tricare covers 100% on the annual exam and x-ray and cleaning twice a year. Then they told me oh we are NOT in the Tricare network and you need to pay a copay $100! WHAT!!! WHY DID NOT TELL ME ON THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED THE FIRST TIME???!!!! I said then I do not want to proceed with the appointment and about to walk out, the manager saw that I was about to leave, she said oh I can just bill your insurance and waive the copay, since you are already here, I do not want to turn you away. We will just do the x-ray and you can take the images to another dental which is in the network. I accepted and proceeded with the x-ray. I was SO WRONG!! I really really should have left! Later of the day I found another dentist on Tricare Dental Program website and called them and told them what happened earlier today. I was told that: 1) they would need to do their own full mouth X-ray and not accepting what other dentist has done due to liability 2) Tricare only covers full mouth x-ray once every year, I would need to pay out of pocket for the second one. This place wants to make money so bad that they totally abused my insurance coverage! They knew clearly I had Tricare and they could not do any cleaning or needed treatment for me! Even they waived the $100 copay but they submitted $$$ claim to my insurance! Yeah, they got paid from insurance! Now I have to pay for another X-ray out of pocket! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING PLACE!!!

So this young lady comes bouncing in the room and informs me I bad to pay $1,000 before they move forward. That is some that I should have been told in January not the day of. Fortunately I did have cash with me, but that is a lot of money and I did not have an opportunity to save it up. I really like my dentist because she is very good and concerned about patient comfort and information, but not sure I will go back because of the distance. I will see if a dental office can provide the hardware that I may need replaced in the future at a reasonable cost. Because they seemed to think it was funny that I told them it was terrible to spring something like this on the day with no prior notice. How funny is it that you have now lost referrals and possible a patient?

I needed an annual check up but usually feel anxious with dental apts. the…read moredental techs put me at ease and explain the process of the check up, the equipment used, and kept me updated on what they were doing while working on my teeth. After the check up, they recommended some work done and they went in great detail regarding follow up apts and what was needed to get back on track. I appreciate the professional care and patience given to help calm my nerves. Definitely will be going back and would recommend to family and friends in the local area.
