There are live animals outside the Farmhouse.....not for petting or feeding! Henrico Parks and Recs offers lectures on VA and Henrico history and often meets here. The museum of Meadow Farm here behind Crump Park is a lovely example of rural farm life in circa 1860. It's well-preserved and has distinct architectural significance of middle class living in that time period. The outbuildings are also well-maintained and the grounds are nicely manicured. At times there are festivals here where folks dress in period costumes and demonstrate candle making, basket weaving, etc. and a blacksmith quarters. There are also animals dwelling in the barns and pastures of this natural living farm. They have many activities and historic events, including a history of "Gabriel's Rebellion". There is usually a big July 4th celebration and other calendar events. This is a wonderful family park as there's lots of trails, picnic areas, a lake and other amenities. Here, you get it all--shade sail covering the adult area with many picnic tables, a separate patio area for adults with chairs, a giant playpen-like structure with a bouncy ball in it and lined with garage tiles for safe falls for younger toddlers. There is a play set for younger kids and for older. I would say about age 3 to about 8 or 10. There is a car on a spring that rocks; a big, spiral slide, straight slights, a fake climbing mountain with seats on top, and tons and tons of options to climb and swing, including a jungle gym and even spiral-style monkey bars (they go in circle, rather than just in a straight line. There's a balance beam, different types of swings, and really everything you could possibly want. All that's missing is the kids, really. Absolutely amazing place. The greatest likelihood to catch other kids to play with is before lunchtime. The only downside is that there is zero shade on the actual playground itself. Very important note: This place is public and at the back of a church parking lot. Turn in right beside the blue library sign, and drive alllll the way back. You cannot see the playground from the street at all, not even upon turning into the lot.

There looks to be some sort of 'ship' for their imagination as well as several slides and merry go rounds and everything to keep the little ones busy. Going around this park, is a walking trail. It's not too long, its not too short. It's just right. You can leisurely stroll around the entire park, taking a break to watch the kiddies or...and this is the best part, watch the pooches. Among it's perfection, this park has three, VERY large dog parks. Two for the biggies (they need the room) and one GINORMOUS park for the Lil Napoleons (ever meet a small dog that didn't have a Napoleon complex?) This dog park is so big that after throwing the ball for 30 minutes, my very energetic poodle came up to me panting heavily & I swear I could hear "Uncle" as he dropped the ball & walked away. The grounds inside the dog parks are kept beautifully. There is a volunteer who faithfully cleans out the water bowls, picks up anything that parents left behind, supplies balls to all of the parks & for a bonus will even snuggle any pet needing a confidence boost. I am very hesitant in writing this review because if word spreads too far & fast, then everyone will want to come here & there will be a line. There are very friendly owners that come to this park, all different breeds. One day it will be all poodles, doodles, chichipoos, doxies...you just never know who you will meet!

It's completely fenced in, has plenty of receptacles, picnic tables and benches. Heads up, leave the fur babies home, no pups allowed. There's a large sliding area, and a smaller one on the Libbie entrance. There's a mini rock wall and climbing stools. Let your kiddos swing on the swing set with a couple of open swings and a few buckets swings for toddlers. You'll only find two spring rides, but it's a neighborhood playground so that's sufficient. The mulched playground should keep you precious cargo safe enough and there's a small field for playing ball. Although this is not a huge place, it should tire your tots out! Minimal parking, many folks just walk over!! Have fun and be safe.

I have never seen such a long zip line for kids. They are usually about 10 feet long and pretty lame. This is really long. Unless your kid is a tween, you will prob have to pick them up to get them on the seat. It sits a bit high.

Inside the triangle are play structures and lots of toys for the kids to play with. At 4 years old, mine might have been the oldest kid there (this was late morning on a weekday though, so older kids may have been in school). Regardless, she had a great time playing there. She liked all the toys which are left there, which apparently are donated by people in the area. It was a good place, though I can see how it might not hold an older kid's attention. I would still go back here though.

There were no parking lots any closer, it's just street parking then you walk the rest of the way. The playground itself is fenced off, to differentiate it from the surrounding park. It had some play structures and some swings along with a see saw and a few other things. There's also benches for parents to sit on while the kids are playing. The playground is mostly in the shade, which would be nice in summer. I liked it, but for some reason a group of 4-5 teenagers came by and hung out there for a while; this was around noon on a Tuesday in October, which I thought was weird. Anyway, if you're looking for a good place to let your kid play, this place would fit the bill and I would go here again.
