The staff is very friendly and informative. I asked about a knife in the case and the employee gave me the whole backstory: The name of the knife maker and where they were from! Very cool info to know and gave me pride in owning and using such a piece with meaningful history. The owner Bill, if you are lucky enough to catch him is probably the most interesting man alive. I love this store, and will absolutely be back! Thanks Wild Bill's for staying family owned and operated when so many stores in vail sell the same old things at every corner.

We parked in the parking lot next to the big open field. Unfortunately there was an event that day and we had to pay I think $10 (can't remember the exact amount). I guess it evened out since the garden is free? Anywho, the garden was a short walk from the parking lot. It's named after the former first lady who preferred Vail as their vacation spot and helped the community flourish to what it is today. There's signage throughout the garden to read about Betty Ford, the plants, and wild life. It's a small garden, but there are plants from all over the world and we enjoyed strolling through the various paths. My mother in-law enjoyed it as well, so mission accomplished! If you're in the area and love plants and flowers, it's worth a quick stop, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

We asked him to honor the price, and he said "nope, mediums probably cost more because, you know extra fabric." Okay, first of all, that's not how clothes work. But to humor him my friend tried on the small and it fit, and we asked to get that one. "Nope (again) all sales are final (he and not told us that). You can't exchange it, for the exact same item for the correct price. You CAN go buy something else for the price difference (not easy to do), so she bought a bracelet and paid more. Such a contrast to the experience I'm accustomed to shopping on Frisco Main Street. NOT a good reflection on our town at all. I will never bring a guest there again. Plenty of other local shops who treat locals and visitors well.

I was a regular with a simple file box and a checklist for decades in NY and this was like pulling teeth. Hope he finds a way to be a better businessman, and not argue with customers. Or just sell his shop to someone that wants to be in operation seems like he hates what he does.
