I just want to take a moment to thank Breezy for being so patient and kind with me. I originally went in thinking I would have to get my tooth removed due to financial concerns and honestly, fear of needing a root canal. Breezy took her time with me, reassured me, and encouraged me to save my tooth by getting the root canal and crown instead. Because of her, I spoke with the office manager and was able to get on a payment plan that worked for my budget while still getting started the same day. When I went to the back, Breezy literally held my hand while I was being numbed and never left my side. That meant more to me than she probably knows. Her kindness and patience truly made a difference. I also want to thank Dr. Michael Wistrom, who performed my procedure--you were incredibly gentle, patient, and efficient. The procedure was quick and, most importantly, painless. As the numbness is wearing off, I feel great--no discomfort at all. As a busy mom, I was so nervous about the aftermath, but I honestly feel amazing. This experience gave me the confidence to move forward with completing the rest of my dental work. My experience with Modern Dentistry was extremely disappointing and concerning. The dentist…read morerepeatedly pushed a $425 quarterly deep-cleaning procedure (this cost was for each side of my mouth--on top of what my insurance already covered--and claimed they could not perform a standard cleaning unless I agreed. I was told I had gum disease, which later proved to be false. I sought a second opinion at Precision Dental & Orthodontics, where I learned I did not have gum disease. Instead, I had one tooth needing targeted care. Additionally, the crown Modern Dentistry placed on my back tooth failed twice, and Precision Dental was able to correct their work for half the cost, with no out-of-pocket expense from me. The office manager at Modern Dentistry attempted to pressure me into unnecessary laser and chemical deep-cleaning services, insisting they were mandatory. After reporting the issue to Humana, I was informed that the office had even placed Humana on a block list when contacted for verification. Based on my experience, Modern Dentistry operates in a predatory manner, especially toward seniors. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this office research other providers and compare pricing and treatment plans before moving forward. These people lie and appear to work in a criminal manner!!!

How dare you make such extreme treatment suggestions when you are not accepting the patient. To show a child a care video on braces, ask what color they prefer prior to creating a treatment plan is mental manipulation and poor bedside manner. The front desk staff is ghetto and loud. Overall worst experience with a dental office in my 20 years of experience as a client in the dfw metroplex.

Once I declined the toothbrush I was told that I would have to wait since there were 2 other patients who arrived AFTER me and I could come back at 3pm but my cleaning would be $298. I called Monarch Dental Cedar Hill to get a teeth cleaning. When I called to schedule an…read moreappointment, they said that I would be considered a new patient even though I have been a patient at the Red Bird location (general dentistry) and the Cedar Hill location (orthodontist). I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment time to complete the new patient documents on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. About 15 minutes after my appointment time, I was brought to the back for x-rays which went very smoothly. I was moved to a dental chair and I waited for the dentist (Dr. Walker) for about 20 minutes to arrive. She was very pleasant, but she did try to recommend services that were not requested or needed. For instance, she asked me if I were unhappy with my smile and I verbally said no even though I am pretty sure that I said this on the new patient paperwork. In addition, I had just completed orthodontic work there less than 1 year ago. I still have some baby teeth that never fell out and she said that I may want to consider dental implants when they do or I could get them pulled out sooner if desired. Again, I said no as I have not had any problems. She asked me did I want to have my gums sculpted to see more of my teeth and again I said no. She examined my teeth and then said that the dental hygienist would be in shortly for a gum exam. Approximately 10-15 minutes later, the hygienist arrived to do a gum exam. She asked me what brings me in and I said a teeth cleaning. She told me that she may not be able to do the teeth cleaning today because she had 3 other people to take care. She said that they had booked me as a new patient, but did not book me on the dental hygienist schedule for a teeth cleaning. She said that I might have to return on a later date for the teeth cleaning. As you can imagine, I was livid since this was the only reason that I scheduled an appointment. Further, I was told that there was a 50/50 chance that they could work me in which is unacceptable behavior. I also voiced my displeasure with the office manager who was not helpful and just re-stated what the dental hygienist had said. She said that this is a normal practice by Monarch Dental to schedule a person to come back on a different day for services including a cleaning as needed. I told her that this is not the case as I have been a Monarch dental patient at another location and dental cleaning was done on the same day. In fact, I have never been to a dentist office that could not handle a "new" patient visit and cleaning on the same day. This would be like going to the doctor's office for an ailment and they do everything but treat the ailment. I think that this office should be investigated for upselling practices and failure to disclose that they would not be able to do a cleaning in the same day. This make me wonder if they get additional revenue for having you come back for a 2nd unnecessary appointment. Needless to say, I was very dissatisfied with Monarch Dental Cedar Hill as I could have been at work instead of wasting 1 hour of my time with nonsense. I will be contacting my insurance company regarding them and also making a complaint with the BBB and other review services. I wish there was a zero star option because Monarch Dental Cedar Hill would warrant it. I will not be going back here ever again.

Great receptionist who work literally 24 hours a day, hygienist who keeps you informed of the health of your teeth and give recommendations at how too keep your teeth clean especially with flossing. And my dentist. She is awesome, I've never had a dentist with such a gentle hand who when she gives you local numbing or anthestic you don't feel a thing. An easy 5 stars
