Very large store .. lots of merch . Had a few pair of higher end boots .. not in my size . I didn't find anything but the staff is friendly . read more

My daughter-in-law introduced me to this place. The staff was friendly, and the store is well organized and has a large inventory. The second time I went in I took some used clothing I had to offer for trade. 7 for All Mankind jeans, brand new, never worn.... They refused them? I also had several other lightly used tops, and they did not buy any of the items I bought them, all of which were freshly laundered and folded. Question what their acceptance policy is since many items I did see in the inventory, had stains or holes or snags in them. I will return again to see if it was just the particular person that waited on me, or if this is their actual way of doing business before I give up on them altogether . Otherwise, if you're looking for a good deal on clothing for yourself and you're on a budget, I highly recommend trying this place before Goodwill . read more

I have previously shopped at traded here, but after my last experience, I don't think I'll be coming back. I stopped by with a large tote - 3 pairs of shoes, several tops, dresses, sweaters, jeans. All items were freshly laundered, with no tears or stains, just as is stated in store and on their website. Because I had a limited amount of time, I stated that I would be dropping my items off instead of waiting in store. The employee told me that they would call me when my items were appraised but I would have to come back before closing to pick up any items they could not take. I returned to the store about 2 hours before closing. I was told that my items had not been looked at and that I would have to wait 30 minutes. 30 minutes later, I was told that my items weren't sorted yet and it would be another 45 minutes. At this point started to notice why the store was so busy - no one was actually looking through the merchandise, they were all waiting on their items. When my name was eventually called, nearly 4 hours after dropping my items off, I was told they couldn't take any of my items due to "condition". Overall, it felt like a waste of my time & employee's time. read more

this might be the worst place to sell your clothes ever. they took TWO items out of the maybe 75 things i brought. everything was in good condition, and everything was laundered as well. Waited 45 minutes in the (mind you) MUGGY, HOT STORE..just to be greeted with 2 items taken also employees are so .. just mean girl energy like high school bully kind. dressing room people were nice tho. lowkey feels like employees tell their friends to come in and sell their stuff and they'll take their stuff but if it's someone else they won't take it. probs not the case but that's what it feels like. overpriced everything..and only giving like 10 bucks for two items?? make it make sense. please don't come here if you don't wanna waste your time. read more

They don't buy or offer business clothes or anything other than jeans or comfy clothes so it depends on what your looking for as to whether you'll be pleased or not read more

Very discriminated against. Lilith in the from very condescending and snooty. They also gave our clothes back, which by the way were brand new lockers and men's polos, and they stole some of our items. Save your time. Terrible people, terrible customer service. read more

I wish they had a no star option . This place is taking advantage of people who come in to sell their items . Example brought in buckle and Levi jeans new and they offered $5 for 2 jeans . Meanwhile I seen them selling doc martins for 70$ just crazy. Also not the nicest individuals in this location . read more

I sure do LOVE gettin' a deal y'all. I'm a thrifter like no other and THIS store makes my heart smile with their low prices, the rad styles, their cleanliness and the fabulously gracious staff. Hand your items after trying things on if you don't want them. Don't leave a mess. Look at me bossin'. Ok just enjoy. Be blessed!! read more

And they don't want to refund my money. Are gave me store credit i hope something like this happens to them like, for example, they should go out of business. For trading their customers poorly i'm a single mother of 2 and fifty dollars does not come around that easily just to throw it in the garbage like trash thanks uptown cheapskate you did pick the right name for your company, I hope you're proud of ripping people off. I thought the selection was on the cheap quality side. Staff was okay but merchandise was average.

Do not come here if you're looking for a good deal or if looking to sell your clothes for a good price. The deals are seasonal, which may sound like a good thing, but when they're charging borderline retail for specific items then it isnt a deal at all. Nike air forces retail for $100-$120, but they are charging 70-80 with creases in them which isn't the deals that you would expect from a resell store. Selling clothes, you only get about 10% of what you originally paid for them just for them to sell it at 30%-60% of retail, that is robbery. The best part about this place is the staff, I've been going here for years and the staff are great, it just seems like they can't keep a consistent staff to save their life, which to me shows there has been some bad management here that is really lowering the quality of the place. read more

Any time I can find decent items where I am not paying a fortune and can immediately recognize name brands is a win in my book. Uptown Cheapskate offers both in one central location. I was fortunate to find several items in my size (1XL and 2XL) and new with tags. Stitch Fix, anyone? Upon immediately walking into this second-hand store with the same model of Plato's closet, I recognized that they contoured towards women of all sizes and a vast age demographic. You're not limited like you would be in Plato's, but in the same breath, they really do not compare since this is a bit more upscale than Plato's. Pricing is different and so are the items they accept. Pricing wise, they are similar to Buffalo Exchange. Quality of items are more classic styles versus I feel Buffalo Exchange is more eccentric in their styles. When coming to Uptown Cheapskate, come prepared to spend some money. I did manage to sell some items here. Items cannot be in plastic trash bags. Clothing needs to be freshly laundered, laid flat in a bin or a box, clothing styles should be within the last 2 years. Age range is 18 to 40. They do not accept business attire or formal attire, but do occasionally accept dress shoes if more on the casual side. No holes, stains in items, Holes can have exception if it is made like that in the garment. They pay a third for the item that they will sell it for in the store. If an item is $9 in the store, the seller will get paid $3 for it. Fitting rooms are open for you to try on items. I like this store. I feel they have exceptional employees and everyone was super nice and helpful to the customers. I wish they would have bought more items, but that is everyone's wish who comes to sell their items here. It was worth the trip from Nashville. . read more

Wish I could give zero stars. Lady that sorted my clothes was extremely rude and unprofessional. I watched her verbally attack another customer as well. Needs a good attitude check. will not return. Go to plato's closet to sell and shop! read more

I was given incorrect information by an employee and was told my clothes would be held for up to a month. I returned within 1 week (actual timeframe) and my clothes had already been donated. I was told by the manager that "this just slipped through the cracks and they can't do anything." Terrible way to solve an error caused by faulty information provided by an employee. Absolutely no solution was offered. I would absolutely not resell here again. Mistakes are made, but the handeling of the situation was poor. The same employee who gave bad information told me the wait would be an hour to view my clothing, so I said I would wait in my car... I went back in after and hour and he told me it would be another 2 hours because the in store customers had priority. They literally do not give any concern to customer service. Very poorly managed store. Take your belongings elsewhere to resell. read more

I came to this store to sell my new Louis Vuitton bag with proof of purchase and willing to pay for authentication. The owner sent a employee to tell me that my bag was fake and she was not going to even TRY to authenticate it because she felt that there were imperfections that she thinks means it's not real. I asked to speak to her she never came out and I offered to show proof of purchase and pay the 30 authentication fee but she refused me !!!!! I felt like all this was her being Racist!!!!!!! I will never be back !!!! read more

My new favorite place! First of all-it is so TIDY! It is clean and all the clothes are organize by style & color. The shoe selection is excellent. Can't wait to go back. read more

The real score: -5 stars This place is beyond belief! You would be better off going to a landmine to find better quality stiff. Everything is just trash. Clothes that one would be embarrassed to the Salvation Army. Then there is their buying, a complete and utter ripoff! They offered $12 for a $500 pristine condition suede jacket, and a Rag and bone jacket which I bought on sale for $199.00. I even heard the sale tell the pricer "I want this for myself" and the girl told her it's expansive. And then she offered me twelve dollars for both of them. This was beyond anything I have ever seen! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME EITHER SHOPPING HERE OR SELLING HERE!! I am almost certain this place exists as a tax write off or other purposes, otherwise why would they not buy quality items in new like conditions from brands which they have, and yet have the same brand that looks like garbage for sale? read more

You can find some quality stuff for a good price if you look hard enough. They especially have a good selection of women's clothing. They won't buy much from you but you can get some good deals. read more

My favorite consignment store in Middle TN. They always have great finds, name brands, boutique clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, sweaters, coats, etc for men and women. They purchase gently used, in season items, as well if you need to clean out your closet you can make instant cash or store credit within a few minutes. This trip I found some cute and comfy Cole Haan shoes that look brand new for $18! read more

I have tried to consign clothes there 3-5 times now and today was my final straw. Each time I have brought in larger laundry baskets full of clothes that were either in season or about to be in season. The first time I decided to drop off, well about an hour later I got a phone call giving me the cash offer which was very generous and they took over half the basket and left maybe 8 items I decided to donate. The next few times they were completely unorganized or inconsistent. In one basket I brought it there were Lululemon sports bras/shorts they took only 2 of about 8 and when I asked why they claimed there was damage however there was nothing wrong with any item. On top of that they took 5 items and offered $10 cash and what they took was name brand clothing such as Lululemon, Nike, American Eagle, Southern Tide, Vineyard Vines. Any item purchased would've easily been over $10. The most recent visits I asked to be called before donation and was not when I returned to the store everything of mine was gone including the basket. My visit today I dropped off at 10:30 and was told it shouldn't take no longer than an hour so I call back at 12:30 and when a worker answered the phone she was too busy playing around with another co-worker to even hear me and then told me it wasn't ready and wasn't a priority for them at that moment. Rude. I drive back to the store around 2:00 that same day and ask for an update maybe if I am in store they won't be rude I thought, I was wrong, the girl at the front desk said I tried to call but it didn't work and I said just once because I don't even show a missed call she said well their here we took 7 of 30 items for $20. I am sorry but that basket was full of American Eagle, Buckle, Vineyard Vines, Fanatics, Nike, and more. I checked the basket and there were 4 Vineyard Vines shirts left and more nice clothing brands left in basket. Every basket I have ever brought in has been all name brand clothing and if it wasn't I left it out. I even had my friend take clothing up there with me, we had the same shirt just a different color in our baskets they took hers and not mine for the reason of "branding". All of that to say each time they didn't donate any clothing for me I immediately took it to Plato's Closet and was given more $$ for less clothing taken or they took everything for fair compensation. I took the most recent basket of the remaining 23 items and they took all but 3. I will not be returning to Uptown Cheapskate or recommending them to anyone. Their workers are rude and they are inconsistent as to what they take. read more

More like uptight cheapskate! They have to audacity to look at my bags for 5 seconds and decide they can not authenticate them as if they're designer company experts and get all defensive if you post a review about it your unpleasant experience. How about just own your schitt! I said what I said! read more

While I have never bought from this store, I always sell here. However, after my last few experiences of dropping my clothes off to sell, that are majority new with tags, I won't be bringing my stuff here anymore. There is no customer service and the employees are incredibly rude. I would rather donate my clothes for free to goodwill than make a profit selling to this store. read more

Everytime i try and go here i never get my moneys worth. Whoever is going through the clothes and not checking for holes etc. needs to be fired. Wouldn't you hate being so excited about an item and turn around and its ruined or has damage? I don't recommend going here. Ive sold my clothes to them so many times and they always rip me off. I bring in expensive name brand items and only leave with a little amount and its because they want you to use store credit from the clothes you brought in. My boyfriend brought in two pair of new Jordan's that were barely touched and they only offered him $90 for both total. HORRIBLE. read more

Went in to Uptown for my first time today after following them on social media for a while. I usually shop at Plato's Closet so my expectations were as such. I expected great deals accompanied by a young, rude staff and a pretty unorganized store but to my surprise I was kindly greeted when I walked in! The store was extremely organized and clean. Very easy to shop the racks and they had a wide selection--not just teen brands like shein, etc. I found some of my very favorite pieces at an incredible price and the staff members were so kind and helpful! I cannot wait to come back. 10/10 highly recommended! Definitely my new favorite secondhand shop. Thanks! read more

I was reluctant to visit this store because of the numerous rumors i've heard from friends. The workers in the store (besides one) were very kind, but it took over an hour to get my clothes looked at. I signed in seconds after my friend and hers only took about 30 minutes. When my friend went to pick up her items, they informed her that most of her clothes were "out of their size range" and they were "too worn" very loudly in front of the whole store, which i found to be extremely rude. After over an hour of waiting for my clothes, they only took one item worth $2.00- which I completely understand, but I have now wasted my afternoon sitting in a consignment store for them to only offer me $2.00 in return. Overall, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth for this company, especially after many people have told me they are rude to plus-sized girls. I don't know why I went after knowing this, but I thought I would give them a chance. My friends were correct and I will not be visiting again. read more

They always have up to trend items for all kinds of styles! Very size inclusive and good brands and deals. I don't shop anywhere else unless needed! I absolutely love this place and I have also resold items for store credit and they were very friendly and quick to go through my items ;as long as they're not busy busy. Always super nice when checking out and getting dressing rooms as well. My only downside is there's no restroom here so you have to go next door:(. But overall I give a 4 because this place is amazing but sometimes has its moments with clothing items. read more

my boyfriend went here this morning and had a bag full of clothes and a pair of 90$ converse... they offered him $6 for the converse (that's a joke), after that another customer approached him and said he would buy the shoes off of him and the owner of the store called my boyfriend out saying that she "did not appreciate outside negotiations in her business." my boyfriend and i have been a customer there for months now and have given clothes worth way more than the price they gave us and the owner had the audacity to make a big deal out of my boyfriend trying to get more money after the price they gave for 90$ converse. they will never get our business again!! $6 for 90$ converse.... good luck with your business Karen read more
