This place is way better than the Plato's Closet in town. I brought in a very large bag of clothes, shoes, and accessories, and they went through it in a very reasonable time. I looked around the store while they went through my clothes and found a cute sweater. I even got 10% off for being a first time customer. They also offer a military discount. They finished with my stuff, gave me a descent amount for the items they wanted for the store, gave me what they didn't buy, and i went on my merry way. From the time I entered the store, until I left, everyone was very nice, but still professional. Didn't see anyone standing around song nothing, but they all seemed to be enjoying their jobs. This store is 85-90 percent for women. I had a few pants that I wanted to sell to them and because they were professionally hemmed they wouldn't take them, they did say my pants we're in very good condition but because they were all hemmed they won't take them. Might be OK to sell to I didn't try that. Stopped shopping there as of yesterday quality has really gone done you have to check everything over for flaws and stains. I used to find really cute things there now it looks like the racks a Goodwill. The sized racks does make it quicker to look through the selection but the better brands are higher priced than at other consignment stores in the area read more

Oh wow! We were in town for just a few days and literally stumble upon this place while turning around to go back to our hotel. Their items are clean and in good condition unlike many other second hand stores I frequent in Hawaii. The amount of XS tops and dresses really excited me because I always have difficulty finding stuff that fits. And they had some really great brands too. I ended up with two dress, one still with original hang-tags! I also got a free top with their buy two clearance items and get the third one free. The dressing rooms are fairly clean as was the restroom. Love this store! read more

When I walked in (2-26 eta 10am), nobody was there at the counter. I gave them some clothes to donate and in a rude voice the guy working there said, "do not bring hangers". Then, he told me we can not take any of your clothes, and walked away from the counter! He was not a very nice person and he was not helpful. Would not recommend donating clothes if you want money, or at least not from him. read more

I loved this place when it first opened. Real nice gently used clothing at a decent price. Somewhat more on trend than the other consignment shops. Last visit was very disappointing lots of true crap. Every time I spotted something cute it was stained, had pilling or was missing buttons. Better deals to be had elsewhere. Seems like every time I come here it is more aggravation than its worth. In the past I have brought in stuff with tags (cute stuff at that, not junk) and I get the same robotic response " Ok, so these are the items we arent taking because of wear and tear or out of season." hmmm since when did something with TAGS become wear and tear? and is it wear and tear or out of season the reason your not taking them? Seriously they use the same exact response. Makes you wonder if they actually go through your stuff or just sit it in a bucket, wait a few minutes, and then feed you that line. Tried to discuss this with the manager there, very very rude and that conversation did not go anywhere. Seems that they don't care if they loose a customer or two. For the items they do take, and it is not very many, I could get more by selling them at a yard sale or on e-bay and not have to deal with the extremely limited parking, crowded store, and robotic employees. read more

I liked the renovation of the new uptown in Evans. However the renovation of the workers needs to be worked on. The attitudes are not pleasant (I get it, you don't love your job but still....) I took two bags, one full of clothes and the other full of shoes, with a side bag of jewelry. Expecting them to look at my items (which is what their job consists of) they decided to skim through each bag and took some clothing items but did not take any of my shoes (which are nice) and jewelry (which are also nice). I don't even really think they looked at them. A few hours later my friend went to this location and said that the workers were too busy chatting instead of working, which made her experience frustrating. So in theory this store can be pretty awesome , but I had a very bad customer service experience that will stop me from EVER shopping there again. I picked out 2 dresses. When I went to pay, I asked the cashier what the return policy was in case I wanted to return the dresses. His response was as long as it's not marked down and in 7 days. My dresses were mark downs, but he knew what I purchased, and that my questions must have been about what I bought. Based on that, I understood his statement to mean as long as it does not get marked down in the system again in the next 7 days. When I brought in one of the dresses to return it within the 7 days, I was told that I could not do the return. The cashier this time was very sweet and helpful, but when she asked her manager, the manager was very rude. My argument was that the cashier accidentally mislead me by what he said because the dresses were on mark down and he did not explain that these would be non-refundable. Most places that have this policy will put a tag on it saying "final sale". The manager stated she was not allowed to do the return, but it was clear that she really could do so (as in the system would allow it). On top of it, she kept arguing that the policy was on the receipt, which is ridiculous considering at that point, I would have made the non-refundable purchase!! Overall I think that a $9 dress should have been refunded or at least offered as store credit , especially since in the long run, they have lost a customer. Side note, I did sell a couple of items there. The process was okay, but you will get virtually nothing for your stuff. It's probably better to take it to Goodwill and claim it on your taxes. I have taken things in to sell and they will give you very minimum amounts for your items. I recently brought in a pair of Ugg NEW and never been worn, Zamora purple wedge sandals and they wanted to give me $20.00. She stated on the internet they only sold for $20.00 used. I checked on the internet and even ebays has some from 69.99 up 119.99. I will not take items to Uptown Cheapskate for resale anymore. I have told others about this particular occurrence. I had an older and newer Uptown Insider card that I've collected 14 punches on between the two. The associates at Uptown in Augusta were very friendly, helpful and accommodating and allowed me to merge my previous punches onto my new card so I could get my reward. I can't say the same for the Uptown Cheapskate in Evans, GA. The sales associate, Bekah, at the Evans store was rude telling me "That's how you learn." No Bekah...you need to learn what customer service is! I can also say that the Augusta Uptown purchased more items and gave me a better price than the Evans Uptown. I would rather drive the extra miles to shop at the Uptown in Augusta and get genuine, quality service! I do not recommend shopping or selling to the Uptown Cheapskate in Evans... read more

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW AND NEVER PUT ANYTHING ON CONSIGNMENT HERE!! Back in August 2013, I put some expensive brown boots on consignment here at uptown, and consignment means that the store tries to sell them for you, asks what price you want to sell them for, then agrees to give you half once the item has been sold, then they are SUPPOSED to call you and let you know once they have sold. My shoes were sold on December 31, 2013 and I promise you no one ever contacted me, and told me a damn thing. They just took their half and kept it moving!! I just curiously called today to check on my shoes and to see if I could just sell them to the store instead of continuing consignment. So, the girl I spoke with on the phone name Ashley, told me that my shoes had been sold on December 31! I asked her why no one tried to contact me and tell me anything and she stated that she did not know that information because it was inside her manager's office, and she also told me I had to wait 30 days to get my check when I shouldn't have to because its been 2 months!. So I asked to speak to the manager (Shelly), and she came on the phone and told me that she didn't know what happened but there was a problem, and she was going to call me back at 1 p.m. Long story short, I have not received my money yet, and this is poor business. They said that the check was mailed on Jan 3rd and it had not been cleared in the system, but obviously not because I have not received it yet and they must've got my address wrong or something because I've been staying here for years! I really needed that money because I had been out of work for months and I am not receiving any government assistance! Very poor business and terrible leadership.
