Service was very good very friendly and helpful staff highly recommended I had an amazing experience at this tattoo shop from start to finish. The shop was super clean, professional, and had a really welcoming vibe the moment I walked in. The staff made me feel comfortable and took the time to go over every detail of my design so I knew exactly what to expect. My artist was incredibly skilled and precise -- you can tell they really care about their craft. The line work is super clean, the shading came out perfect, and the whole process was way smoother than I expected. They checked in with me the whole time to make sure I was doing good and comfortable. read more

I was recommended to UpRise Tattoos, and specifically Rylie, by a friend when I told her I wanted to get more piercings. I've been to Claire's as a child, and one other tattoo shop that I wasn't impressed with for all of my piercings. I had no idea what an APP certified piercer was until I looked into it, and now I want to scream from the roof tops the importance of going to a piercer with these credentials. It makes a world of a difference. I don't want to talk poorly about the last shop I was at since their proceeds go to charity, but compared to the steps taken and sanitation at UpRise, it's like night and day. UpRise is located in a strip mall, from the outside it looks pretty tiny but it's actually quite large inside. The first thing I noticed was how clean and bright everything was. I know most people think of tattoo shops as being dark and dingy, but this was the exact opposite. They have a beautiful selection of high quality jewelry in a display case up front for you to look at before and during your appointment time if you're undecided. I came in knowing what I wanted for the most part placement and jewelry-wise, but Rylie was still extremely patient and helpful during the process. They never tried to upsell or push certain pieces of jewelry on me, and Rylie offered great insight as to what would look the best for my curation. Sterilization is taken very seriously here which I appreciate-- the longest part of my appointment was probably waiting for my new jewelry to be sterilized but I'm not complaining. Rylie is extremely professional, but is extremely personable and sweet, we yapped the entire time we were together. I only added to my lobes this trip so the pain was minimum, but I'd trust Rylie with my entire being to do a more 'painful' piercing in the future. I walked out with 4 new lobe piercings my first trip, then 1 more 4 weeks after when I got my posts shortened, as well as all new jewelry for each piercing I have (including the old piercings). Everything was bought from UpRise except for the charms on the hoop earrings. I am extremely happy with the turnout, I will definitely be back to UpRise in the future! Be sure to check them out and ask for Rylie! (Piercing context - my pre existing piercings are my first and second lobe, and both helix piercings. The rest were done beautifully by Rylie) read more

I have gone to this tattoo parlor to get my piercings removed and add a new piercing now twice. Each time their customer service is amazing and they are on time. Brent and Rylie both did a great job - I would highly recommend for any piercing needs! read more

I came here at the recommendation of three different friends, who have all seen Rylie for various piercings. There are apparently not many members of APP (Association of Professional Piercers) in the burbs, but two piercers here are, including Rylie. I wasn't doing anything particularly exciting: one of my earring holes that is decades old started closing up, but Rylie considered what would be the best way to deal with the closure (repiercing vs. restretching), explained the aftercare and provided a sterile spray for cleansing. I also purchased a pair of flat-back stud earrings (they are very comfortable to sleep in! Yay!) The setting was quite calming, with pale blue walls, chill music and a quiet vibe (this was one of the front rooms: don't know about the back of the house, but I have been in tattoo shops that were much more frenetic and noisy, so I appreciate this vibe). Overall, I would continue the chain of recommendations and suggest Rylie as a piercer in the Chicago suburbs. read more

Always had a great time coming in, everyone's very friendly. Reasonable prices! Would always come again :)

I was on a girls trip from FL visiting a friend in the area. We all decided we wanted to get tattoos. We had the grand idea to go from the airport to tattoo shop. This place was awesome and the vibe was great! Four of us all showed up as walk-ins and they were able to accommodate. Uriel took care of us. He was so nice and patient! We couldn't be happier with how each of our tattoos turned out. I highly recommend Uriel and this place! read more

I contacted the shop to get a consultation with a piercer for my daughter. Brent replied to my request and throughout the entire process--from asking for a consult all the way until my daughter's ears were pierced--was fantastic with timely and thorough communication. Everything was explained thoroughly, and he even entertained questions I had about my own piercings. He was great with my daughter as the client. He was very patient and engaged with her to where she felt more comfortable. He explained what he was going to do, showed her a couple tools, and did a practice run before the actual piercing happened. She was a trooper, and he was extremely thorough as far as making sure the session was a success. The shop is very clean and welcoming, with a good selection of jewelry. The art on the walls is pretty awesome as well. read more

Rylie! They are the ABSOLUTE BEST! I have gone to Rylie for all my (current) piercings and I can for certainty say they I will continue to go to her if I ever move! Never any complications and she's always available to answer my questions without making me feel dumb. They are very well informed and certified by the APP. They are gentle and explain absolutely everything while they're doing it. The facility is immaculately clean, organized, and designed! Beautiful vibe! Beautiful work! read more

Rylie was simply an angel. She gave us the most fantastic customer service when choosing our jewelry, sharing her wealth of knowledge about different pieces and techniques. She talked us through the piercing process the entire time and helped keep us relaxed. My sister and I both agreed that it was the best piercing we've had done, and are confident she did everything she could to ensure our piercings healed well. Go see Rylie! read more

My father and I got tattoo's here twice! Both tattoo's are from different artists but both look fantastic! The first tattoo I had was done by George and I'm saddened to hear he departed as he was a good guy and a great artist. My second tattoo was by Chris and he was extremely friendly and made sure I was good throughout the whole tattoo and even though I talked his ear off he listened and never once told me to stop talking which I greatly appreciate. My tattoo came out fantastic and I will definitely be coming back for a third tattoo, the prices can be a bit high but it depends on the size, color, etc. both my tattoo's were worth the prices. The artists are informational and all of the artists are a bit quiet but they act as a family which is nice to see. Highly recommend to get a tattoo here! read more

First, about the store - I love that they offer such a wide selection of jewelry for healing. The entire place is spotless and nice. Their booking and check-in process is painless. Just perfect. I had my septum pierced by Rylie. She's amazing, and adorable. I can confirm she has endless patience for anxious perfectionists like myself :). She does everything to make sure you like what you're leaving with. I would 1000% percent come back for future piercings. read more

I highly recommend this shop and it's artists/piercers. I always suggest that you do your research on tattoos in general if you're not already familiar. They are permanent, so make sure you're going to a PROFESSIONAL artist in a reputable shop. Find an artist, wherever they are, that is a good artist (of course) but also one that fits your style and that you connect with. This will make the entire process smooth and ensure that you are getting the best possible. read more

Both of my teenage daughters had piercings done by Brent and I would highly recommend him and the shop. The shop was clean and the staff was professional. Brent was amazing and not only did he take his time and talk to us, calming nerves and explaining what he was doing but he's been really great about follow up (questions, help, etc). I would recommend Brent to anyone interested in getting piercings! read more

Brent is and has been the most professional piercer. I ONLY recommend my friends and family to HIM! you are in good hands with him, and the shop! He has great recommendations every time I want to get a new piercing or an upgrade on what I already have read more

UpRise is the best! The shop as a layout unlike any other which displays pieces of fine art alongside pieces of street art and has a museum feel. Worth the trip alone! Each artist has their own dedicated space which not only makes it a more personalized experience, but helps ease any concerns around COVID-19. I worked with artist Brendan Heneghan and I couldn't be happier with my new tattoo. Brendan was able to actualize my idea with a custom design that knocked it out of the park. I'm looking forward to going back to UpRise for future tattoos and working with Brendan! read more

Highly recommend Brendan Henegan, total professional with a genuine passion for his skill. Artwork and Attitude - top notch, made us feel right at home and in good hands. read more

I've been tattooed by Brendan at a few of his shops throughout the years, he never disappoints. my favorite tattoo experience every time. On top of the work always being top notch, I loved the vibes of this shop; chill positivity throughout. I was also impressed with all the attention paid to safety in this current covid-19 climate. All around great experience, got my fav tattoo yet in the best spot I've gotten zapped by Brendan in. I'll be back! read more

Laid back and extremely professional experience so far. I'm currently seeing John Sundara but do your research and examine portfolios prior as each artist has a niche that they specialize in. All artist I've met seem friendly, open minded and extremely professional. The cleanliness and hospitality here is par none. I doubt you'll be disappointed in whoever you choose. read more

Unfortunately, this is the second time I've tried to schedule a tattoo with Uprise. I called, they told me to send an email over their website, which I did, and I have not received a reply yet. It's been about a week and a half since I sent the email. I don't know if they save appointments for people who are more regulars there. I do have a piece on my arm that I got there about five years ago but I walked in. That same time they told me to send an email which I did, got no reply and decided to just try my luck with walking in. It's frustrating because they do good work but their customer service needs some improvement. Calling in feels like you are annoying them by asking about what you want done. Disappointed for sure. Won't go back. read more

My first tattoo in over ten years and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The studio was spotless and comfortable. I loved that each artist uses a private room- something I didn't experience at other places. The whole process was professional and made me feel at ease. George was awesome and has great rapport the whole time. And, most importantly, my tattoo came out honestly better than I could have hoped for. Highly recommended!!! read more

Chris Dapkus is a great artist and such a down to earth guy. Was with him for about 5 hours and he made it a very comfortable experience.

Today I stopped in to pick up replacement earrings for my daughter. Reilly was super kind and helpful. While there I asked to schedule a consult for my very first tattoo. Well, I ended up leaving with my very first tattoo. Cheeto, Thank you for taking time to talk this old lady through the process. Your calm and friendly demeanor made all the difference. Thank you for your professional recommendations- you nailed stencil location on first try. This matters when you have no idea what you want. I love my new tattoo. Thank you!!!! Called about a walk in for a small tattoo and I was told that they have time if I come in asap and to ask for George. I get there and meet up with George and immediately he made me feel comfortable. He explained all the basics to me, and worked with me until we found something that I really loved. It was my first tattoo so he took baby steps when it came to the actual tattooing process and made sure I was doing okay each time before proceeding. He was a lovely gentlemen and made my first tattoo experience 10x greater than what I thought it would be like. Will definitely be recommending him to friends and family! read more

I have been going to uprise tattoo now for 2 specific reasons... 1. The cleanliness of the shop is IMPECCABLE! (Specially during these unprecedented times Tony Uno and his crew there really make sure you feel safe and comfortable during your tattoo...not to mention the shop design is aesthetically beautiful) 2. Tattoo artist Brendan Heneghan. I had gotten tattooed by Brendan at his old shop years ago and followed him to uprise tattoo where he now resides. Brendan takes his time to listen to your vision, sketch something that would work for your body and take his time on placement. I've gotten multiple hand sketched one of a kind pieces from him recently as fillers and am always astonished by his creativity! His line work is beyond any artist I've gotten tattooed by and his traditional artwork is the best in the Midwest! I have had the pleasure to continue to get tattooed by this incredible artist at this amazing shop multiple times during this pandemic. I have NEVER felt uneasy or unsatisfied with the work or the safety measures put in place. I cannot wait to get more tattoos completed & finish my traditional half sleeve Brendan has created! Literally look no further for the best tattoo artist at the best shop!!! read more

I got my thigh tattoo done by Martin Garza & his work is good don't get me wrong, but definitely not the tattoo artist for me. Wasn't friendly at all! & when I told him what I wanted he said he didn't like that idea so he wasn't gonna do it but he'd do something close to it, which I get thanks for the recommendation but the tattoo is for me therefor I should've definitely had more say in it. 2 years later & I still regret going with his idea rather than mine. It's like I had to convince him to do what I asked for. read more

My daughter got her ears pierced by Riley. It was an amazing experience. Riley was so patient and explained everything in very easy to understand terms to my daughter. The appointment took about 40 minutes. It included Riley explaining how everything was sterile and the cleaning process involved. She was patient while we selected the earrings. She always asked my daughter permission before touching her ears and asked if it was okay to proceed. She allows the child to set the pace. Throughout it all she was funny, talkative and very kind. My daughter was so it ease, she said the piercings barely felt any pain. We could not of asked for a better experience! It's been about 6 weeks and we followed her easy cleaning instructions and there have been no infections or issues. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! read more

Came in last Friday for two piercings and I was BEYOND impressed with their piercer Brent!!! Brent was up-front about pricing, professional, and gave clear explanations of every step of the process. He was very patient with me as I switched which jewelry I wanted several times. He made me feel extremely comfortable. He also gave very practical and easy to follow aftercare instructions. I love how the pricing turned out, they look amazing! The shop was incredibly clean and each individual had a separate room with a full door. I came in the very next day for a simple tattoo and the artist gave me several sketches of what I described for me to choose from. The artist did a beautiful job!
