This barbershop has a nice ambiance and everyone is very professional!…read more I received a horrible hair cut from James the barber. I explained that I had a major event this weekend and I needed amazing hair cut with a sharp hairline. He explained that he had been cutting for over 20 years and once owned a barbershop so I figured I was in good hands! however he pushed my hairline back and inch in a half. My haircut is so bad, I think I'm forgo going to my event. I'm truly disappointed and will never patronized this establishment again. As a barber that has been cutting for over 20 years, I would think you would ask your client about their hairline if you had issues. He just completely butchered my hairline and tried to fade my hair to cover up his mistake. I was livid when I left the shop and chose not to make a scene in front of other customers. I would advise that you watch everyone cut before the hostess assigns you a barber. STAY AWAY FROM JAMES THE BARBER! Please let Karl or any other barber cut your hair. James needs to hang up his clippers.

When I first moved to the Fairfax area, I went around to a lot of the "best" shops looking for a…read morebarber I could trust. I saw varying levels of skill elsewhere--not necessarily bad work, just inconsistent--but Trieu is easily at the top of my list and has become my go-to. I barber as a hobby--not professionally, just for friends--so I look at haircuts a bit differently than the average client. I'm a pretty normal, low-maintenance guy regarding my own hair, but because I know the trade, it honestly kills me when I see professionals taking shortcuts or ignoring the fundamentals just to turn over the chair. I wanted someone who simply respects the craft, and that is Trieu. His technical approach is unique and demonstrates high-level skill: For medium length on top, he moves away from rote sectioning (holding hair between fingers). Instead, he combs along and against the grain to gauge the natural fall, cuts using a freehand sculpting technique, and thoroughly cross-checks. The Result: This method optimizes the cut for your specific head shape rather than just following a cookie-cutter pattern. It creates natural texture within the cut itself, saving time on point-cutting or texturizing later. Other details you will notice: * Sanitation: Hygiene is on point; he changes out his straight razor blades for every single client. * Detailing: He is efficient, but he doesn't rush the finish. He does multiple rounds of detailing with the trimmers to catch any strays and clean up the perimeter. * The Transition: His scissor work connects the top and sides smoothly for a solid blend. I wouldn't say the fades are 100% perfect, but they are a solid 98%. Given the volume he handles and his efficiency, the execution is exceptional. Like I said, I'm not vain about my hair, I just appreciate good work and quality care. I trust Trieu's skills completely.

A Royal Cut Every Time…read more Just got my second cut from Amasai Holden at Crown Royal Barber, and I'm officially a fan. From day one, he brought techniques I've never seen used before -- like hitting my beard with a hot iron to straighten it before trimming ( game changer). That move alone kept my beard looking sharp for days longer. This visit, he leveled up my hairline with fibers and holding spray -- something I've had done before, but never this precise or long-lasting. Dude added that "extra sauce" that had me walking out like a brand new man. The shop is clean, in a great area right near my office, and super convenient. I walked in the first time with no wait, and the second time, I booked an appointment -- showed up early and Amasai was already ready to go. No waiting, no hassle. Just top-tier service and professionalism. If you want a fresh cut with elevated technique in a polished space, Amasai's your guy. Highly recommend.

The minute the individual opened the door to walk in, he was yelled at by one of the barbers who said "you can't bring that dog in here". the individual reiterated that the dog was a service animal (which was overwhelmingly obvious) and the barber, once again, just said he could not bring the dog inside. this is COMPLETELY inappropriate, not to mention illegal, discriminatory, and embarrassing. It was so upsetting to me. Service animals are allowed in all public establishments in the state of maryland, and refusal of admittance into a business with a service animal is against the law and inhumane. so incredibly disgusting.
