It's right around the corner from his work and many of his coworkers have used Mendoza and we're happy with them. We stopped out on a Saturday afternoon. The young lady was very helpful and gave us a lot of information, including pricing upfront. We went out back to find a slab and she was patient with me as I insisted at looked at every slab and ended up picking the first she suggested. We selected our edge cut and sink type and wrote the contract. The installers were just as efficient. They showed up on time to measure and install and worked quickly and professionally. Since we were going to a below mount sink, they even suggested we move our water turn offs so we could still access them after! Very helpful! We are so happy with our new counters!

I went in looking for a piece of marble for a shower seat I'm building. The lady, who later told me…read moreshe was the owner's mother, was very helpful in showing me all the types of marble, and going through pricing with me. She estimated $180 plus tax. I told her I would email her son to confirm order. I emailed Lucas Olivera the interaction I had with the lady in his showroom and all the details of my needs. He thanked me for my business and sent me an estimate for a little over $200. I didn't mind it much. The estimate also stated "the color I have is pure white quartz." Colors have strange names so I paid no mind and in later emails I always referred to the piece as marble. He ignored my wording and from there on referred to it as "the piece." I asked for pictures to make sure it was what I wanted, but when I realized he was never going to send them I put the order in anyway. I went to pick up the piece to find he had made it from engineered quartz. I hated it. I couldn't take it. He told me he stated quartz, so I looked back on the emails and saw how he had worded it. Thinking it was a simple misunderstanding, I asked if we could do the piece in marble like I've been asking from the very beginning. He emailed me that marble is more expensive and would be $430. What a waste of time! First he makes my order in whatever he wanted ignoring my request, charges me the same amount his mother estimated for marble, and then tries to charge me over double the price. I went to Rockaway Granite and Marble $160.

We are so very thrilled with the work that Jason and Caitlyn did at our house. The built-ins they…read morecreated have made our living room look much more complete. A fairly basic room has become a beautiful space thanks to their very high quality work. We had Fine Custom Carpentry install a solid wood counter and shelves to create a bar area for a drinks fridge, as well as a show-stopper of a cabinet/bookshelf built-in along our living room wall. Jason was a pleasure to work with. He was responsive to my many design changes, editing drawings and plans until things were just right. He made good suggestions, and we definitely benefitted from his many years of experience. He and Caitlyn even worked over the weekend to complete our project after encountering an unexpected installation challenge, which they calmly and professionally figured out. Their focus on making sure everything was done thoroughly and correctly was very appreciated. Ultimately, we just couldn't be happier!

When this arrived it was 25% higher and still required me to purchase extras that I asked to have included initially. I called and asked to have this revised and was told it would be handled. Apparently this is beyond the scope of this company. Not at all recommended.

Needless to say, the carpets were in rough shape with a few very noticeable stains. I've spent what's probably an excessive amount of time shopping around for kitchen cabinets for my…read morenew home, comparing models and prices from various websites and showrooms. Unfortunately, I've worked with a few kitchen showrooms or websites that either clearly did not value my business or drew out a design full of extra (expensive) features that I did not ask for, thinking I would not notice. When I came to HM Cabinetry, I did not have an appointment but after looking at a few brands and models, sat down with Tamaz and he drew up a kitchen design for me based on a diagram of my kitchen that I had with me, and offered a quote based on a mid-grade brand and model the showroom carries. Of course I had to give some more thought to one of the most expensive upgrades to my house, so I took a little time to keep on looking. A couple of weeks later, I emailed asking for a few modifications on the design he made, and a quote based on this new design, but with another brand. Tamaz gave me a call and suggested a different brand instead, which was better quality and had better customer service yet available at the same price. He also pointed out that I'd need a different refrigerator cabinet size as the one I chose was too large for the refrigerator I'd be using with it. I was then sent a diagram and an estimate with an itemized list of each cabinet. Once the quote was approved and the items paid for, the order was quickly placed. Although most people probably purchase pre-assembled kitchen cabinets, I opted to get unassembled. I'm not sure if all of their cabinet brands are also available unassembled, but make sure to ask so you will be quoted accordingly. Also, as a helpful tip, from what I gathered from speaking with Tamaz about the different brands of cabinets they sell, it appears that on the HM Cabinetry website, the brands are written in order from cheapest to most expensive, although all of the brands they sell are made of good materials. Although the prices on the website help serve as a guide, make sure to ask for a quote because every kitchen is different, even if yours measures (more or less) 10x10' like mine does. I appreciate how HM Cabinetry allows customers to arrange their own delivery if they'd like. They'll give you an order number and a contact phone number to make the process easier for you. You'll need to arrange pickup directly from the brand's warehouse instead of from the showroom, but if you choose to have HM Cabinetry handle it for you, the rates, at least, from what I was quoted, seem pretty reasonable. Just keep in mind that the delivery will be to your curb and the cabinets won't be brought into your house, but that is how all trucking companies operate (unless you hire a moving company) and not HM Cabinetry's fault. In case you need help, the weekday hours are pretty convenient for 9-5 workers so long as you work nearby (they close at 6 on weekdays) plus they're open on Saturdays until 6, and they're quite accessible by phone and email.
