Time Traveler I grew…read moreup in family as a cabinet maker's son. My Dad put me to work in his shop at the age of 10 teaching me to make cabinets and do finish work in his shop. I no longer have the time or tools to do this kind of work and they were very reasonable for cost. I had this company finish some wooden door casing for my home that is no longer made by anyone. EVERYTHING in my home is solid wood... so I was not about to install some plastic casing or something made out of formed glued together sawdust in my house. My Dad was an old school artist who constructed all of his cabinet from basic materials... not ordering cabinets made with inferior artificial materials and installing like most "cabinet shops" do. Crap! He was one of the old school CRAFTSMEN... unless you were around this... you won't understand what I mean by a CRAFTSMAN. 70 years later his work is standing just as beautiful as the day it was made. I thought I had gone back into time when I walked into Artistic Woodworking's shop behind Maverick in Chino Valley. I could not believe my eyes! I thought I had walked into my Dad's shop. This company makes their cabinets facings, drawers and doors from lumber and plywood... just like we used to do. A lost art and the best that money can buy. He's the only real cabinet maker I have run into in the valley. The owner, Bob... very nice guy. Have him build your cabinets... then you will understand what a CRAFTSMAN is. They are made of white walnut ad are quite exquiste in style and very functional. Now the cane on them requires to be redone by hand weaving because they are not purely rectangular or square but trapezoidal. They have needed this for about eight years and we have not been able to find anyone in the area or in Phoenix that could do this. Bob Blanck the owner of this relatively new business to the area took a look at them and took up the challenge to re-weave these chairs. And that he and his staff did in a par excellent manner. We absolute love them and the re-weave is every-bit as accurate and good as the original artisans did about one hundred fifty years ago in the old country. My hats off to this business and I most highly recommend them for all of your detailed re-furbishing re-storing needs on fine furniture. We knew this project would require time so we worked with Bob to allow him and his staff the time to do this one right and work them in during slower hours so it did take the agreed time of about four months to complete, but the results are again well worth it, and the estimate was met.

My husband is a woodworker and was especially impressed with Pat's multi-layer finishing technique, which produces a smooth, durable finish that really looks like factory cabinetry -- not simply painted cabinets. Pat and his team are also very skilled in wood finishing. The work they did on our kitchen island is a great example of the care and craftsmanship they bring to their work. Just as important, Pat is easy to work with. He communicates clearly, keeps you informed along the way, and shows up when he says he will -- something that can be rare in the contractor world. What we appreciated most is that Pat genuinely wants his customers to be happy. If something isn't exactly right, his attitude is simply: "You're my customer and I want you to love the result." We're extremely pleased with how our kitchen turned out. If you are considering cabinet painting or refinishing in the Prescott area, Murray's Modernized Furnishings does beautiful work.

Ended up moving into another house and needed some screens re-screened and thought I'd give them…read moreanother chance. I called and spoke with Zack (didn't mention our previous interaction at another property) and we made an appointment and he showed up when he said he would - a good start considering previous experience. He then advised me that he didn't have material on his truck for the repair, but would have the screens ready later in the week by Friday. Friday morning comes and I've not heard anything from Zack. Around 1p I called The Mobile Screen Shop and left a message asking about the screens and for a call back. Zack returned my call about an hour later, apologizing for not being in touch - I kind of felt (based on what he said) that my screens were forgotten about, but said Steve would be by my house later with them. Steve did in fact show up as promised with the screens - all good. In the end, it all worked out, yet I still can't help but feel like this is a side gig for these folks or something? I feel like if I hadn't called to follow up yesterday afternoon I would still be without my screens. Lastly, I should add that Zack called me after my initial review a year ago and apologized for the misunderstanding which is why I decided to give them another chance this last time.
