He listened and and we thought he would have to weld the fender to the frame as the bracket was snapped in half, which would mess up the looks of the bike, but I needed it functional. Only took a day and when I arrived to pick up the bike, Jay had "rebuilt" the actual bracket! He went above and beyond to avoid having to weld the fender to the frame.
