This was a longer active labor than intended, but through each obstacle Joy and Christina remained patient, calm, and knew exactly what to do to deliver my daughter safely. Cheryl cared about me as a whole person, I never felt rushed (most appointments were 30-60 minutes). I had to bring older siblings to most appointments and she made sure that they were included. I really appreciate that my midwife and the birth center didn't have lists of routine interventions. I was allowed to make my own decisions about my care and what tests/interventions I wanted to have. I had a peaceful and amazing water birth at the birth center. Even if I had needed to transfer, it would have been worth the money just to have my midwife's support in the hospital. I cannot recommend Gentle Beginnings more highly.
