I am forever grateful for her because of the peace she brought me during my journey into motherhood. She would consistently checkup up on me, asking about my health and wellbeing. She was a wealth of knowledge pertaining to evidence based information on pregnancy, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and postpartum care. I am so thankful for her knowledge and care during those very painful first few weeks of breastfeeding, I really don't think Luca and I would have been as successful without her! I completely underestimated what role she would play during my labor, she was vital to my mental state through the whole thing. When I was ready to give up around every corner, she was there to remind me of my strength and that what I was going through was normal and the pain was only temporary. Something I appreciated most were the scriptures she read to me that lifted my spirit and helped bring joy to my pain. After 30 hours of labor I was exhausted physically and mentally, and she said a prayer over us that brought tears to my eyes and renewed my strength. She knew when to crack a joke to make me laugh, when to reassure me with words of affirmation, and when to just be silent and comfort me with her presence...I call that a great friend! She also made sure I was always taking little sips of water or nibbles of food. She was always 10 steps ahead of me and my discomfort. Her postpartum visits were everything! Just having someone come over to check on my husband and me, mentally and physically, meant the world. When the rest of the world couldn't wait to hold the baby, she was there to hold my hand and tell me that everything was going to be okay. I actually cried at our last visit because I had grown so attached to her! I like to think it wasn't just the hormones talking! I can't forget to mention that this amazing woman spent 16 hours giving me counter pressure on my hips with EVERY contraction! Talk about arm strength! you will not regret having her apart of your birth team! Britany, I can't say enough good things about you! She noticed as soon as I stopped coping with contractions as well and was always there to change positions, provide hip squeezes, or give another idea or encouragement. She fanned me with a paper fan with peppermint oil on it when I was nauseous and helped give me guidance when I was in doubt. She was there for us before, during, and after our birth. She also took some wonderful pictures throughout our labor (many more than I posted because many are personal). I was a little unsure about hiring a doula initially and now I couldn't imagine going through labor without her. We will definitely be hiring her for any future births.

During my pre pregnancy appts, they were friendly and even the times I was stressed and emotional they listened with compassion, even one time, offered to pray , and said would I mind?, which I didn't. I thought it was very sweet and I honestly did feel some relief knowing someone cared so much. When it came the appts I got to know all the midwives , and I liked that part too. A variety of personalities, and I looked forward to my appts. And seeing them. My labor was fast and since it was my first i felt unprepared- I barely made it to cleburne hospital/ bc my insurance wouldn't cover the birthing center, I had to have my son there. They were waiting on me when i arrived, and so sweet even tho I was loud and a little hysterical,( like I said , happened really fast). They were so soft spoken/ the additional nurses were amazing. My son was born 4 hours after my water broke/ healthy and I was up walking around and felt great immediately, they checked on me through the night, and in the morning another mid wife checked on me- Carla and hope . My post pregnancy appts they were very nice and during my 4 month one, I came in feel crummy and Shannon even noticed a nodule on my thyroid at my visit/ she was very thorough, I am now seeing a endocrinologist for them, thanks Shannon! She literally saved my life! I found out I have an autoimmune disease, and am now getting treatment. I wish these ladies the best , they are passionate about what they do, and sincere with trying to make you comfortable and feel welcome! I understand nobody is perfect, and nobody's experience can be perfect, my expectations were high, and we're definitely exceeded! Thank you ladies! Would recommend them to anyone!

Cheryl cared about me as a whole person, I never felt rushed (most appointments were 30-60 minutes). I had to bring older siblings to most appointments and she made sure that they were included. I really appreciate that my midwife and the birth center didn't have lists of routine interventions. I was allowed to make my own decisions about my care and what tests/interventions I wanted to have. I had a peaceful and amazing water birth at the birth center. Even if I had needed to transfer, it would have been worth the money just to have my midwife's support in the hospital. I cannot recommend Gentle Beginnings more highly.

From the beginning, everything was explained very thoroughly and my questions answered. The prenatal visits were very relaxed, not rushed. My options were explained to me, and I was always given the freedom to choose what I wanted to do. The Midwives at LLBC are all kind, patient, and knowledgeable. You get to meet with all three Midwives so that you are comfortable with whoever is on call when you go into labor. Krystal helped me so much along the way and referred me to a chiropractor, doula, and lactation consultant who were all professional and wonderful. The birthing center itself is nice and has a peaceful, relaxing environment. During my labor, Krystal was so patient and helpful. She explained everything that she was doing throughout the entire process, provided me with options, allowed me to make my own decisions, and answered my questions kindly. Due to failure to progress (I was not dilating past 3 cm despite multiple unsuccessful strategies to progress labor and change my baby's position.. he was sunny side up and stuck on my pelvic bone..) and prolonged rupture of membranes (it had been 20 hours since my water broke) Krystal recommended I transfer to higher level of care. Although the way I delivered was not how I planned, I was grateful to Krystal for recognizing the signs early enough to recommend the transfer before it became emergent. In the end I had a healthy baby boy and I'm grateful to the team at LLBC for their help! They have been wonderful postpartum as well!
