The other spot…read morenear walgreens or the bus stop is terrible, not only is the taste bad but the prices or 20$ you pay over there is not worth it. Usually whenever I come here the food truck and mcdonald's is my goto lunch spots, don't bother going to the other places you should avoid them asap. For a quick snack or if you just want coffee and cookies the other places are okay for that, but hungry and want something to fill the belly go here instead. Burritos here pretty good and I can't deny the salsa or the green sauce and pico puts a smile on my spicy food cravings. They only have pinto beans but that's fine I personally like black or pinto beans, never got into refried beans much my taste buds just didn't welcome refried as much as black or pinto beans. The rice and guacamole was a bit creamy and I didn't feel like I was feeling the guacamole flavor as I was munching on the Suoer Burrito. The rice and beans were good, soft tender mexican rice and the grilled chicken was cooked perfectly. When I added the salsa, particularly the Green Sauce my stomach wanted to grab the whole salsa Container and take it home with me....... Not too spicy, not too mild, and just the right amount of cilantro and lime they got me good on this sauce. The chips were great or I had some crunchy chips that made me want to order super Nachos too. Some stores just give you costco chips or premade old soggy chips that break easily even before you dip in salsa, not these chips Dip in twice and still the pico was all there no tomatoes falling. One of the best things I like is they have a salsa bar with a good selection to choose from. green, red, pico grilled onions yes they have a small bowl that has grilled onions and peppers cooked. Usually Just the basic red, green sauce, and limes if I do see a small space for salsa, but primo has more the chips are already bagged and you can grab more chips and salsa cups. Plenty of napkins, salsa cups and forks if need be too. The only downside is the salsa cups are so tiny. the cup size looks like something your dentist use to clean your teeth . Not a big deal breaker for me, but still would nice if we can get a bit more salsa and a bigger cup to hold. The location is alright and I do see people come and go, still this place has a lot of potential but it's hard to beat Mcdonald's or just take the street car further up turnpike if you want something in your taste. Am glad they still have some good horchatas and churros here too, I can't eat Burritos right if I don't have my L horchata and churro later on. Another thing I notice is they don't give plastic bags even if you order 3 burritos, but luckily I had brought my own. If your in the bayview, around keith try this place out and definitely grab some salsa /chips too.

Really good burritos. They have seating inside and a self serve salsa, chips, and peppers bar.read more

The meat and tortilla were cooked to perfection. The meat was not dry at all. I also got a carne asada, but I prefer the lengua better. I was pretty hungry so I went with a carne asada super burrito and two al pastor tacos. Let's start with the burrito, the flavor of the carne was good and the hot sauce was mildly spicy. The rice was a little bit dry, and after cutting into the burrito, I noticed that the cheese, guacamole and sour cream were almost non-existent. The only little bit of guacamole I noticed was at the ends of the burrito but it was minuscule amount. For the tacos, the al pastor was on the drier side but the corn tortillas tasted pretty good. If I do order tacos again, I hope they stacked em with a more meat. For a super burrito and two tacos, it came out to $14. If you are at the park and/or watching baseball games, it's definitely a convenient option for a quick meal.

Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was impeccable. They were easy to work with from first contact two weeks in advance, through the end of the event night. They offered combo plates of steak, chicken, pork, or veggie, with rice, black beans, mixed salad, fried sweet plantains, and yuca fries. The meats were cooked perfectly, juicy, and tasty. The sides complimented the meal nicely. They brought Guarana drinks that people also found refreshing. The final price was very reasonable for the wonderful food and friendly service. They're a small business that deserves our community's support.

It was way too salty. So finally found Brazuca truck. You order & pay on a screen. Of course I wanted the Picanha Saltado, which was described as better meat than the plain old Lomo. He was right. Tender strips of marinated steak, onions, tomatoes & a side of rice. Didn't notice the little red things (peppers), but the side salsa definitely added a kick. More juice please. So very tasty, I plan to go out of my way to return. No regrets, Support Local!

I came back the next day and wanted to try their other items. I got a carne asada sopes, crispy taco and a side of rice and beans. Amazing! The masa base on the sopes had good structure to hold all the savory ingredients. The crispy taco stayed perfectly crispy and filled with tender, flavorful steak. Their rice, beans and salsa must not go unnoticed. Incredibly FLAVORFUL and all have wonderful texture. Rice is moist but not sticky, the refried beans are smooth but not runny or dry and the salsa is so tasty. Perfecto!! I came to El Tomate as part of last year's Taste of the Mission Week (TotMW). It was toward the end…read moreof my week, and I had been doing a fairly good job of sticking to my sampling rather than blowing off a lot of it like I often do. (I definitely did this year.) Maybe it was because this was the first TotMW after moving out of the Mission, but I was kind of emotional all week. When I walked in, I don't know why I expected to be welcomed or acknowledged with a smile, so it made me a little bit sad how sheepishly the woman working approached me. I told her, "Table for one," or "It's just me," but she seemed not to understand me. "Solo uno para aqui," I finally said in my mangled Spanish, and she pointed to a booth and went to grab a menu. She was unusually bad at pretending she understood English. I'm used to going places and being the only gringo. I'm also used to being greeted in the most heavily accented English before I utter a word when everyone else gets Spanish. That's fine. I'm also used to being treated more briskly than others. But usually, people at least try to speak English. Or they pretend they understand more than they do. Or they're happily confident. Or confidently happy. Or they apologize profusely. This woman was and did none of those things, and even when I was ordering with a menu in my hands and was pointing directly at what I wanted, she was having trouble asking follow-up questions and even acknowledging what I had said. Again, I understand that she didn't speak English, and I understand that I was on 24th Street and that probably 90 percent of the people who eat at El Tomate speak Spanish. But it got ridiculous, especially with her standing at the counter and watching me, as if she was afraid to be in the same room with me. When she brought out my food, I asked for water in Spanish, and she kept looking at me strangely until I asked in English, and then she repeated it in Spanish. (I don't have the best Spanish accent, but it's better than the non-native speakers who actually speak Spanish but don't even try to sound like they're not speaking English.) The food was fine. I honestly don't remember what I had. It was probably three stars. Not long after I started eating, a group of four came in, and the woman smiled and started chatting with one of the women in the group. They clearly knew each other, so it didn't make me jealous, but she also kept looking over at me while talking to this new woman, and the group of four went on to have a very loud and slightly entertaining Spanglish conversation that I understood probably 59 percent of. The server was all over this group of four, refilling their water many more times than she did mine, talking to them, even bringing them their bill before she brought mine, despite the fact that they were still eating and she had already taken away my plates and utensils. When I sat down, one other man had just finished his breakfast, and he soon left. So in the maybe thirty total minutes I spent here, there were three parties, a total of six people. She wasn't taking or preparing phone orders or on her phone or busy with side work or busy with anything. It was a surreal, uncomfortable experience. I won't be back.
