Won't take coins. This wouldn't be a big deal except for euros, where the minimum note is 5. I had a lot of 1 and 2 euro coins to exchange, and the loss in coins dwarfs any improvement in exchange rate. read more

Currency rate was very good but just a warning for prospective customers. Check their local rival A&S Currency for a price before purchasing. I was quoted a price and was told it was the best rate I could get. I checked with A&S and when they quoted for a better rate I was then given the same rate by Omnex when I told them. So don't go by the quote if you have the time to check around. I would have gone to A&S after all that but I was in a hurry and didn't want to make a detour. Great rates, no transaction fees. I bought Euro for 1.37 while it was trading at 1.33 and GBP for 1.60 while it was trading at 1.56. On the same day, I went to Chase and their rates were 1.414 for Euro and 1.66 for GBP. read more

i called a bunch of places like travelex, various banks, and amex travel, and they were all trying to rip me off (trying to buy EUR with USD). the rates at BHD were one of the best (the other was A&S), and it was quick, easy, hassle free. although from the outside it just looks like a simple check cashing/check wiring location from the outside, there is one lady manning the inside and it was overheating in there! i'd try this plcae again the next time i want to exchange money. read more

I came back from London with 1200 pds I needed to exchange. Every bank including my own (Citi) offered substantially lower rates than the spot rate (1.58). Citi (1.47), Chase (1.48) and the biggest rip off Travelex (1.35!). Thanks to this board I found Bhd, which is literally 1 block away from some of these other banks and exchange shops in Herald Sq. and saved ~$50 in FX. Called same day to confirm the rate and it was a better than other places. Went in only to find out their receipt printer wasn't working. I needed a printed receipt for reimbursement claims. They said to come back the next day. Next day, printer was working, but their rate was down $3 even though the market rate was only $0.50 less. So shady. read more

Travelex still offers a better deal I think. When you spend more than $450, they don't charge you a service fee at all and then they offer more benefits like a better rate if you exchange a lot of money. read more

The name of the place is in fact Uno foreign exchange,for a businees trip to Europe,bought 2,000 euros and they charged me 1.34 when the market price is 1.33,their competition on 5th ave is charging 1.44.Ridiculous,thanks God for internet when u get to find out who got the better deal,they didnt charge me any extra commissions or fees.Way to go,I will for sure recommend them to my colleagues and friends and whoever wants to have a great deal.Best currency exchange in NYC.Period read more

Wasn't sure the best way to go about exchanging currency and I tried a bank with international funds and they wanted a huge transaction fee and almost 10 cents over the actual exchange rate. Omnex has no transaction fee over $300 and really great rates compared to everywhere else I checked. I would only go here from now on.
