Late night

Crickets chirping... Cool breeze... Home made cocktails... Nice view for me and my wife enjoying a date night as the kids skate.... Park is closed, but plenty of people walking the trails late night... Romantic evening...

Reno, Nevada. An amazing place on top of a hill to see the Reno skyline and adjacent landscape. Your welcome~! This park has a small parking lot w/ some street parking available. Also has a playground, benches to experience the sunset or sunrise. Note on sunrise: The sun is extremely bright at early mornings. Weather was cold in June (around 36 degrees or 2 degrees C) and the elevation w/ brightness can leave you sunburned so be cautious of this. Located in NE Reno near Hwy 395 & Hwy 659. Basically, the hill accompanying the University of Nevada Reno. Los Angeles is appx 450 miles south. Salt Lake City is appx 500 miles east. Sacramento is appx 100 miles west. Boise is appx 430 miles north. Travel safely my friends. @cigarcpa

Nice historic park in Reno. I don't think it's really a tourist spot, more like a local hangout. Good thing it was only a mildly warm weekend, as Idlewild is in the middle of the city, so not exactly "in the woods." However, there are lots of trees here so they provided some shade for our time here. Parking was easy, plenty of spaces along the main road of the park, and some dedicated spots in several areas too. We discovered that one of the main attractions here is a pond, so we picnicked while we sat on the side of the pond and watched ducks do their waddle thing and just like the ones at William Land Park, these ducks were also are very comfortable with humans and they came by and tried to ask for food and watched us eat. The pond is about the same size as the Land Park one, for those who know Sactown, but it's a bit bigger, I think. It's also a man-made pond, but with fish in it and wildlife around. Besides the pond, there's a rose garden just across the main road leading into the park, and a sensory garden, as well as a play structure for kids and a little train runs through the park that you can buy tickets and ride on (best for little ones). The park is pretty well-maintained and look to be in good condition overall. Landscaping is kept up with lots of trees, flora, plants, and fields throughout. All in all, a nice park in Reno, a little oasis in the middle of the biggest little city in Nevada.

A large stretch of grass and even a walking trail makes for some good stroller cruisin'! I'd say a highlight to this park is the awesome view and location. We paid $250 for the rental through the city of Reno. Just so you know, the power outlets DO NOT WORK. We used our vehicles for power outlets ;)
