Great experience with Universal Title. They were very communicative and prepared. Due to our difficult experience with the sellers, our closing was delayed by 2 weeks - NOT Universal Title's fault. On Christmas Eve we're deep into second months of closing with no end in sight! No communication from Universal Title at all. One phone call received was to let us know that the closing was scheduled next day! We still haven't received the final papers! read more

Unfortunately, Yalp has no negative rating, otherwise I would have given Universal Title -10. Stay away from this company as far as possible!! They are as crook as they come. If you see any rating above 2, I can assure you that it's PAID rating. No one with a right mind would do business with the owner's son. Dictionaries should have owner's son picture to describe con artists. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ! They are king of cheaters. They wanted to charge me $2100 for a title insurance. I took my documents to another Title company, they charged me $780 for the exact Title insurance policy. Read & double read your settlement statement. I'm sure you have been ripped off. VA and MD Attorney General should go after this lousy company. The appropriate name for this company would be "con artist tile company. read more

Had to deal with this title company as a seller and the experience was extremely disappointing. We were given documents for the sale of our home at the end of COB on a Friday in order to close after a holiday weekend with no turn around time to review or ask questions as we scheduled a remote close. Documents had multiple errors in them and we were not notified of the process to have funds wired for our next close. Additional documents that were not applicable were also put into the packet to sign, leaving us very confused. Ended up having to go into the Title office and take off of work to proceed with closing which defeated the entire purpose of a remote close. read more

Terrible. Avoid if you can. We (sellers) closed over one month ago and funds have not been disbursed to us yet. They do not return phone calls or emails. Our agent warned us but the buyer made the decision to use them. Very dissatisfied. read more

Very displeasing customer service and not at all customer oriented. Not sure how a title company schedules a closing and is unaware of the Holiday schedule for the courthouse. As someone that's works in the lending industry I would never schedule a closing on a day when I knew the client wouldn't receive the funds for 4 days due to a holiday being observed. Sadly, it's business first here and the customer second. read more

Not a very good experience here as a seller and from what I heard, the buyers also had a terrible experience here. Weeks past closing, I'm still being charged by the HOA because this company never sent closing docs to them. Weeks after closing, seller's realtor was making threats of going after me in court because they said the title company made major errors during closing. Not worth the hassle afterward. read more
