There was one guy who politely asked if I needed help bringing my garbage bins up to the weighing area while I was already in line, which I gladly accepted. The cashier was friendly, quick to sort the bins, weigh, and pay. The area is a little tight with a few dedicated parking spots. It is between the liquor store and the auto parts store, in a driveway into the shopping center. So it's busy with traffic, other customers and not the cleanest area, but they got the job done, and I was grateful that they were open on a Sunday. I'll use them again!

I crush my cans at home and separate the plastic bottles in different bags. This makes the dumping of recycling easier when I get to Ocean's. I am able to bring a couple of cans and in one can put the aluminum and in the other, the plastic bottles. I do collect months at a time and then go to Ocean's with a bigger haul with bags of both plastic and cans to recycle and I do end up getting anywhere between $30-$40. This is my go to recycling place and I highly recommend you recycle and check out Ocean's Recycling!

The guys were very helpful and polite. I was even offered a soft drink while I waited for a fax to come through. This is a scrap yard and it should be "filled with metal scraps and random people just wandering around" doing there jobs. People come and go as they should in a place of business. I had a truck bed full of motors, unstripped copper wire, stainless, copper, and mild steel. It was all weighed separately and full detail was on the receipt. For those with business licenses you get cash immediately and for personal they said it can take up to 3 business days. They even gave me a fortune cookie!!

I invariably forget stuff to put out on our scheduled days and after a shed project we had debris that wasn't going to fit in our weekly curbside garbage can pickup. The dump here is very expensive (last time I was here was 2020 and it cost $75 for a carful of junk!) so the free coupon is great stuff. What's weird is all the branding is Waste Management not City of Sacramento so I guess the city subcontracts its garbage or recycling...not sure. I had a really awful time here last time so it took me five years to come back! It must have been Covid times and I was forced to sort out stuff like at Whole Foods recycling but this time it was like a normal dump where you back your car or truck in and throw your stuff in a pile. The ladies were very nice at the weigh scales coming and going. They have good signage where the public (that's you and I) must go versus the big garbage trucks. You can access the hazardous waste drop off at the front of the large main building which is accessible through the front parking lot. You must take a side street to access the dump though. Today I had a bunch of old paint cans and batteries that I dropped off to the hazmat drop off. You stay in your car, turn off your engine, unlock your trunk and they will take your stuff out and dispose it. Staff here were very friendly and helpful. Then I went to the dump on the back side accessible on the side road (84th or 86th, can't remember but there's signs). Someone at the dump will Guide you to back in. I was the only woman there dumping stuff off and the only person not running a junk pickup/construction business, so it's definitely not a place you will blend in but the seagulls are friendly and just stay away from the dump pit per the sign. All in all a great morning at the dump. Open 8-5 M-Sat, closed Sunday.

I looked on their website and it showed $50 to dump plus an additional fee for specific items. We agreed and hauled out of our disposals to this location. When we got there, the guy told us that the $50 was just the minimum fee (not disclosed or very unclear on their website). They did not have a scale here. He just lowered his glasses and said "Look like that's gonna be about $285." We left and found another locations that only charged us $95 (based on their scale) for EVERYTHING which also included the specific items that were an additional cost at this establishment. Unless you have money to throw away, I would not recommend this place when their pricing is based on a guess.
