Medium extra cheese pizza with extra sauce
    Charlsia D.

I wanted to try another local pizza shop as I did not like the one near my home after several attempts. ordered a medium extra cheese pizza with extra sauce. The people are nice, but the pizza was just so so. The cheese was baked in away that did not allow for stringy cheese but more like compacted cheese and there wasn't a lot sauce as requested. On the bright side, the sauce present did taste good and I liked the crust. I will try this shop again a few more times before I call it a dud.. and so should other people! Have a good weekend and a Happy Easter! :)

Dough is very good. Sauce seemed plain/bland. Good cheese but overall it is ok. It needs a sauce upgrade.

Today, I got the cheese calzone, fried dough, and cannolis. They were all delicious. Their calzones are only around $10 for a plain cheese. And, the portion is quite big too. It's not too doughy and their dough is flavorful and delicious. It looks like they top their calzones with a good bit of butter. It may look a bit soggy on the bottom, but the flavor is still excellent. Their sauce is lightly sweet and goes perfectly with the cheese. It's packed well and is the perfect amount of cheese for a calzone. Would have liked a bit more ricotta specifically and maybe a side dipping sauce, but still amazing! The desserts are pretty good too. Some of them are (as expected) not made in house, but others like the cinnamon rolls and fried dough are. When I ordered, I initially switched one of my desserts for the other. But, they just gave me the other dessert for free! Very considerate. The cannolis, although partially premade, were still quite tasty. Good amount of filling, great texture, adequate amount of chocolate chips inside, crispy outside, and nice chocolate cover. Their fried dough is also tasty and similar to a funnel cake. Would have maybe liked a sweet sauce (like caramel or chocolate) with the fried dough, but I had some leftover caramel to use so no issues there. All in all, a very good stop for pizza in Monroeville. It seems extremely underrated, and I was the only person to be in the store at the time (and my order was the only one for pick up at that time, which was Labor Day weekend). This place needs some more pizza and calzone loving visitors!

This is a pizza place, but I was doing some Christmas shopping by my self so I just wanted something to go, and a sandwich was a better choice than pizza. This sub was just alright, mostly ham, the red onion was way too thick, the pepperoncini I had added and their Italian dressing made it somewhat better. Would I go out of my way to eat here? no. But if I am stuck in Monroeville it is a choice that isn't a national chain, and is a local business. Next time I would probably try their pizza, their vegetables on the sandwich were cut for that, not a sub. It was not a bad sub, I finished it, but there was not anything remarkable about it.

I went with the round cut, but looking at people who were dining in orders, the square looked good.

That first delicious bite takes you back to the days of your swimming WPIAL practices as a celebration dinner before the big day. The late night greasy fix after the school dance with your friends while playing the pac man table top game. (I wish Fellini's had one of those!) The steak hoagie is by far the better of the steak hoagies that I've had recently. It's seasoned well and they actually put the mayo on the hoagie! It starts to liquify and just soaks all through the sandwich the way it should! The provolone sticks are incredible! I don't know if they're homemade, but they sure taste it. And the breadsticks! The breadsticks are just leftover dough covered in delicious butter garlic sauce. PERFECTION! This shop will cook your pizza half cooked, as a lot of people like. We like ours well done cooked even longer than maybe the traditional cook time so we always request that. When my son went to pick up our pizza it was already sitting on the counter it had not been 15 since minutes since the order was placed. When he grabbed the box it was kinda wet on the bottom of box so we don't know if they set it on the counter on top of something ,but it was more than just extra sauce and onions that made the soggy like they assumed. We tried to recook it and when we took the pizza out of the box all the cardboard inside of the box was wet like something had been literally poured inside the box. I could barely get it out because it was so soggy it was falling apart. We live less than 5 minutes driving time so it was not from steam and cooking it more once we got home did not help it was that wet.. I have never seen pizza that soggy. I had my son call and they did not offer anything except advice on not to order onions or extra sauce when its humid out. We would have like a re-cooked pizza and to return the one we had especially since we had company. It was too wet to pick up a slice and inedible. So, if the owners see this maybe they'd like to somehow rectify it because now I have to start my grill to feed my company. Furthermore, if a customer orders extra sauce and onions on a pizza that.we are asking to be cooked well done an your only job is to cook pizza, you should advise the customer that it won't be crisp. We've ordered it that way before.. and as I said this was far beyond just soggy it was literally wet..and the 2 that ventured to eat it ,now have a stomach ache. It was most certainly undercooked and so wet it couldn't even be rebaked.

Being from the area, I cannot believe I have never heard of this place before. I put it on my short list of places to try, and one day when out in the Monroeville area, I was finally able to stop. Like I said, the concept is simple. This place serves pizza. There is one size, and some toppings to choose from. At the time of writing this, pizzas are $8 and it is cash only. The price includes any toppings you want to put on. They are open Thursday through Sunday from 4 until 7:30. Orders are placed over the phone, and then picked up through the side/basement door of a normal residential house. We placed an order for three pizzas, and they were to be ready for pickup in about 30 minutes. We got one Pepperoni, one Mushroom and Onion, and one with Sausage and Extra Cheese. When we arrived, there was another person picking up, but our pies were hot and ready. The ladies working were quick and kind. The pizzas are truly so good! The crust is not too thick or too thin, and the sauce is a sweeter one. All of the pies we got we liked, but the sausage was a true winner for us personally. One pizza could easily feed two or three people, and they are cut into 8 slices. I cannot wait to have this place again. The pizza was great, the ambiance and entire operation give off everything that classic Pittsburgh is about - no frills, but a great product. Plus, you cannot beat the value. Will definitely be back soon!
