And I'm so glad I did, for 2 key reasons: 1.) IT WORKS: From a purely functional perspective, the treatment definitely helps keep pests at bay. For the first few weeks after we moved into the house, spiders, ants, and palmetto bugs were nearly everyday occurrences (as they tend to be in Florida). After Royal Palm treated, it felt like we had our house back. We pay for quarterly treatments, and while they offer free interim treatments if we notice an uptick in pests in the home, we've never had to avail ourselves of that offer. If we ever see an insect in the house, it's rare, and they've usually given up the ghost by the time we find them. 2.) CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SPECTACULAR: They always call US to schedule our quarterly treatments, which is a nice perk because I'd never remember. They're always friendly and professional. And our technician (Craig) is a super nice guy. Very efficient, always on time, AND he wears booties over his shoes when he comes into the house, which is such a nice touch. We like to maintain a "shoe-free" home to keep the floors clean, but we don't typically ask guests to remove their shoes because we don't want to make folks feel uncomfortable. So the fact that he wears paper booties over his shoes as a matter of course is just an incredibly thoughtful thing to do. Again, highly recommended!

Over the past six months, I have called the office several times to report that the treatments were not working. I even requested a fogging treatment to help eliminate the pests, but my request was denied. The contract states that the service is under warranty, yet I never felt that my concerns were taken seriously. Another issue is communication. The company told me they would provide at least 24 hours' notice before each quarterly service appointment, but I never received any phone calls or emails. On July 13, 2026, a technician arrived without any prior notice. Later, I was told I had reached the maximum number of service visits, even though I had already paid my contract in full. When I spoke with Greg, the manager, I explained that I was unhappy because I had been paying for over a year and still had an ongoing pest problem. Instead of listening, he repeatedly talked over me and dismissed my concerns. He told me that it is "normal" to have pests in Florida and suggested that because I am from New York, I don't understand that. While I understand Florida has more insects than New York, that is exactly why I hired a professional pest control company. I expected the company to reduce and control the pest problem, not tell me that it is normal. Only after I told them I wanted to cancel my service did they offer to send someone out for another treatment. At that point, I had already lost confidence in the company. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. Good customer service means listening to customers, honoring the terms of the contract, communicating properly before appointments, and standing behind the service when treatments are not effective.

This problem has been going on since 7/27/23, over 4 months! His mixture has killed everything! Don't know if it will ever come back. The Manager was out again to personally treat my lawn on 11/18 and stated he would be in touch with me monthly to keep me updated on the progress. Coincidentally on 12/11, I received a form letter from the Orkin Regional Manager stating that my account has been "transitioned" to TruGreen and to contact them with any concerns. Upon receiving the letter I immediately contacted the Service Manager and left a voicemail for him to return my call. Haven't received a call back as of this posting. They literally dumped my problem onto someone else's lap. This is a problem the Service Manager assured me would be taken care of. Come to find out all along it was lip service. In short I had a beautiful plush, green lawn which is now burnt in spots. I'm thinking it would have been better leaving the Dove Weed alone, at least it was green. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ORKIN TO ANYONE! I've contacted several consumer advocate organizations in the hopes they can offer me some help.
